  • Jackie Speier was shot at Jonestown, saw Congressman Leo Ryan killed, laid on a tarmac for 22 hours, survived, and didn't lose it completely like so many would have under those circumstances . In fact, I believe the experience (which I remember well as I was 18 at the time) made her resolve to do the right thing stronger. This is one bad ass lady. Jackie Speier for president. And get this, I'm a Republican !!!

  • Rep. Jackie Speier kicks some ass on this video. She is one of the most eloquent and well intentioned advocates for a women's right to choose. She deserves to be lauded for her efforts to give to PP and organizations like it, the funding they need to continue their fight against the rising tide of discrimination against women in this country. If Jackie Speier ever runs for higher office I will be one of the first in line to give to her everything I can for her to succeed in her battle.

  • Rep. Jackie Speier for PRESIDENT. Let's start now.

  • The gentleman from New Jersey is the same kind of person who backs abstinence-only education that has led to an increase in teen pregnancy for the first time in a decade and an increase in abortions. He is toxic and needs to take his head out of his ass and examine the real issues. To Rep. Speier: my respect for you has grown by bounds, and you are correct that it was indeed a vendetta and that it had nothing to do with providing jobs. PP does more for people than the common person knows.

  • @rene833 If you hate this guy watch my latest video on Senator Jon Kyl. It's also about PP.

  • @CappitranoBellephant Senator Jon Kyl is a bigot who pulls his facts from thin air and is so ancient he should be banned from the senate chamber. I know well who he is. I hate that when people hear Planned Parenthood they only think of abortions. There is so much more that PP does. I myself get my cancer screenings from a PP, and I'm not enthusiastic about having to go somewhere else.

  • @rene833 LOL yeah you pretty much summed up exactly who he is. He was on the floor last Friday where he stated that 90% of what PP does is abortions. When he was asked about it he said it wasn't intended to be a factual statement even though he stated it as a fact.

  • This guy is toxic!

  • Speier's remarks were inappropriate. Smith,in the remarks I just heard, did NOT say that abortions were being obtained without thought or great personal anguish on the part of the women getting them.So why the personal story? I am very much a pro-choice guy,but abortion is an ugly business and should be presented as such. It is a personal freedom issue that transcends any personal experience she had unless she had been denied an abortion. She wasn't. She sandbagged the guy.

  • @meemoonses This is not the full clip because I couldn't get the whole thing on TIVO but he describes PP to be "more than eger" to do such things and insinuates that this is something that is celebrated, and completely diregards the womans decision making process to grasp the seriousness of this. She didn't sandbag him at all she responded appropriately having been a person who underwent such a procedure.

  • @CappitranoBellephant You wrote: "....and insinuates that this is something that is celebrated, and completely diregards the womans decision making process to grasp the seriousness of this." /// Celebrated by who? I'm convinced, given the tapes I've seen, that PP enthusistically promotes abortions. "...diregards the womans decision making process to grasp the seriousness of this" I'll accept your word that he did so,but I still must be opposed to any taxpayer money supporting this agency. (more)

  • @CappitranoBellephant (more) Yes,I'm fully aware that they provide birth control counselling and that's fine. But their abortion agenda is not compatible with public sentiment. It can hardly be argued that they are saving lives,so there is no compelling reason to act against a popular ethic. If their efforts are so salutory, then let them seak funding from their supporters.Except in a situation that requires an abortion to save the mother's life, not a single taxpayer dollar should go to this org.

  • @CappitranoBellephant (a little more) Speire's experience may have been traumatic to her,but it means nothing to me. I and the taxpayers didn't get her pregnant and it is not the taxpayers' responsibility to correct her mistakes. Abortion rights by all means, sure, but not at the urging of a taxpayer paid counselor.

  • @meemoonses You can find the full clip of this online. It is illegal to use tax payer money for abortions and tax payer money has never been used for abortions that was one of the main points of these debates. PP never enthusiastically promoted abortions to anyone. 40% of Americans support this bill so less than half support so sentiment is not shared here. PP proveds HIV testing, breast screening, gynocholgical visits, and other services abortion only makes up 3% of what they do (more)

  • @CappitranoBellephant They could have made alterations to PP of even not allowed abortions to go through 501C3's like PP, they could have done many other things that did not involve completely eliminating funding for a very essential service to poor or confused young teenage girls. Those tapes you saw (I've seen them) were of people planted there to discredit PP, after those occurences PP called the FBI to let them know about the "sex trafficlers" that visited them. They did nothing wrong.

  • @CappitranoBellephant "They could have...done many other things that did not eliminat(e) funding for a very essential service..." // NO. It is NOT an "essential" service. It should be essential to these women that they NOT get pregnant. Essentially, they need to stop fucking outta wedlock. // "Those tapes you saw...were of people planted there to discredit PP" // Yep and they revealed the PP's misconduct. They did everything wrong and some things illegal. The taxpayer has NO duty to support THAT.

  • @meemoonses So your solution is to tell people to stop fucking? I'm sure that will work fine. Those tapes left out that they reported to the FBI, you aren't just going to confront a potentially dangerous pimp on the spot they did what they were supposed to do.

  • @CappitranoBellephant "..tax payer money has never been used for abortions.." // YES IT HAS! PP facilitates women and girls getting abortions, don't they? // "PP never enthusiastically promoted abortions.." Yes they do.We saw that on the tapes. "40% of Americans support this bill..." // 40% ain't 51% // "..3% of what they do" // So what? Should we allow police officers to shoot and kill 3% of speeders? The PEOPLE see abortion as homicide (I don't) and they will NOT support it in any way.

  • @meemoonses That's not how funds or 501C3's work. When you receive a grant or get funding the funds can only be used towards what was agreed upon by those parties. It's illegal to use the federal funds for abortions. The only cases is 1) in cases of rape or incest or 2) If the mother is at risk. You don't know how these systems work which is fine but don't get angry as if you do. Your speeding example is completely unrealted and a horrible analogy. Speeding is an action not a biological function

  • @CappitranoBellephant "You don't know how these systems work...but don't get angry as if you do." // I was wondering how long it would take for you to express your assumption that those who disagree with you are ignorant and/or angry. The PP is an agency that facilitates abortions for women and girls.Part of their operating budget is supported with taxpayers' dollars. Simple. "Speeding is an action..." // Facilitating an abortion is an action that results in the death of a fetal human being.

  • @meemoonses I didn't say you were ignorant but only to how funds work for 501C3's which is not uncommon for people who aren't in that line of work it wasn't a shot at you. It's not about disagreeing with me you are wrong it's not possible for them to operate the way you are insinuating. Tax payer money can not be allocated for abortions period. Speeding is not a basic need that ppl do to maintain health i.e. breast exams etc they r completely unrelatted and different people speed for dif reasons

  • @CappitranoBellephant Since you have sunk to the level of insults and condescension,I will leave you with the obvious: Tax dollars are being used to support PP. The people object to that and will insist that this funding source be closed to them. I hope they do anyway. Most people don't wanna support the bad habits of wayward girls and shiftless "fathers". Good luck, genius.

  • @meemoonses I'm not insulting you plain and simple that's not how the system works because you were unaware of that doesn't make you inferior or anything but it's very black and white about how funds are allocated and you are simply wrong or just misinformed it's not a personal attack. You are the only one getting mad here. Believe me if I wanted to insult i could say way worse things.

  • @CappitranoBellephant Mad? Inferior? Uninformed? No.I'm not angry, just sick of reading the same old liberal cant over and over.I know exactly how the "system" works.I have an IQ of 133.I am a level 6 (outta 7) Top Contributor at Yahoo.I have a BAS in mechanical engineering. YOU need to take off the rosy glasses, climb down from your liberal throne, and look at reality. The PEOPLE oppose funding PP and will do so.Why this simple reality escapes you escapes me. YOU need to live in the real world.

  • @meemoonses That's fantastic but that doesn't mean you know the process by which 501C3's work and how funds are allocated to those organizations. You don't need a high IQ to understand it you just need to have the correct information. It's black and white it's not an opinion. I'm not a Liberal but if you're really this sick of me then just stop talking to me.A person who is as intelligent as they claim to be would not remark about another person in this way if they were actually wanting to debate

  • @CappitranoBellephant I cannot fault you for not believing what you read from posters. But I have made my points as best I could. The voters will insist on defunding PP whether or not it has properly used those funds and regardless of any reasoning. They have a right to do so and that is all I was saying. I personally could not care less about PP. I do care when programs exceed any attached voters' mandate or misuse funding. We have nothing more to discuss.

  • @meemoonses My friend, I did not read this somewhere, I work for 501C3's for 3 years now it's not something I read it's something I do. I've gotten government grants and government funding. It's not my opinion or anyone elses it's just how it works.

  • @CappitranoBellephant "My friend, I did not read this somewhere" // I was talking about your not believeing what I wrote. I don't question the factual basis of what you have written. However, in practice, taxpayer dollars sent to PP support the overall efforts of that org. That is undeniable. You still don't understand my position. I don't oppose the activities of PP at all.But the voters do and will insist on de-funding.

  • @meemoonses But the voters don't more than half don't agree with this amendment so no I don't understand your position. To be honest with you it's seems like you are opposed to planned parenthood and it doesn't seem like you are pro-choice. I'm basing this on our conversation but my gut tells me you are opposed to these things. So you at least agree that tax payer money has not been used towards PP abortions then?

  • @CappitranoBellephant I give up. Apparantly you can't read and I'm tired of printing the same simple message over and over again. Good day, sir.

  • @meemoonses Ok bye.

  • @meemoonses The Hyde Amendment already prevents Title X funding from being used to pay for abortion. The federal money that PP receives goes towards educational and contraceptive services. In the long run, these services prevent abortions and reduce the welfare rolls. Title X also pays for cancer screenings that help lower Medicaid spending by catching reproductive cancers in their early stages when they are exponentially cheaper to treat.

  • Fuck that cracker Smith. Fuck Haliburton. Fuck the evil empire.
