If we can stand up to these religious trolls, all of Youtube may be freed and the life of the internet may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole internet, including those trolls, will sink into the abyss of a new dark age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the absence of logic.
Let us therefore chain ourselves to our headphones, and listen to Forever Lost, that if this music lasts a thousand years, men will say, "This was their finest hour."
@detectiveyoshi The other song -- Forever Lost (Reprise) -- is a different version of this track. It appeared on an EP they released called A Moment of Stillness.
@gatheringleaves That's a matter of opinion. Albeit your opinion has no proof whatsoever, but still, it's an opinion I suppose. And why are you commenting on a month old comment exactly?
@AstronautJ Haha, agreed. I'm all for people being religious, they can do whatever they want, but soon as they state ANYTHING as fact, I just have a laugh. :D
@gatheringleaves The fact there is no proof makes it an opinion. Personal experience is worth as much as a dog turd in the shape of jesus's face under my shoe.
It doesnt matter if there is no scientific proof, people have reported mystical, otherworldly, and transcendental, for thousands of years, in fact all of the ancient texts describe that god or a creator like entity exists, therefore he does, plain and simple, and there is nothing anyone can say or do that will this fact false. They all couldnt have been lying or making stuff up, SOMETHING had to create this universe or reality
@gatheringleaves There are reports all over because people have a psychological NEED to understand things, before science they couldn't explain anything and so made up gods etc to explain them. And I never ruled out some force having to create the universe, but it has nothing to do with religious gods. Your "facts" are based on your psychological need for an afterlife and explanation to things that science does not (yet) understand.
@gatheringleaves And tons of people having reports of varying gods is more hurtful to your "proof" because each of the gods are so different and have such varying functions that they cannot possibly be the same. So it's just proof that a lot of people made up gods for that psychological need for things to make sense. And are you so stupid that you think you can rule out other people's gods yet yours has to make sense? I just happen to rule out one more god than you do.
Yeah I dont think so, I think that the ancient gods were real physical beings from other worlds or dimensions who came to Earth and helped humanity start civilization, they came from different places and thus they looked different or had different beliefs or perceptions of reality, and as a result the humans they influenced saw them differently. Also, since belief in the afterlife was so widespread in ancient advanced societies, that shows that it must be true
@gatheringleaves Alright I thought you were serious up until the whole gods coming from other worlds/dimensions thing to help start civilization, you either trolled me or are too stupid to argue with, either way this is just too much of a waste of time, haha
God you are so ignorant. The fact that people in ancient times believed the Earth was flat has to do with the fact that in those days people were very superstitious and they lived during a very unscientific time, therefore it made sense for THEM to believe the Earth was flat. However, we live in more scientific times now, so we know it's not. Also, belief in god has nothing to do with religion.
In my view, religion is simply something created by humans thousands of years ago and over time was altered, twisted, and changed until it became what it is today, although originally it was something more pure and spiritual, therefore many people today mistakenly believe since religions are obviously so crazy and absurd everything about them must be false but that isn't true at all. You need to keep an open mind
Since the reported features of the afterlife, and cosmologies are so similar in so many different widespread cultures that it all couldnt have been some random thing invented by mankind. Therefore God or "Gods" do exist and always have. Supernatural or Bizarre things happen all the time that science cannot explain but they still occur, whether science believes it or not. I think your "science" must be flawed
@gatheringleaves Alright well while you're in your corner playing with your imaginary friends, scientists will be, you know, doing something useful, like curing diseases.
@gatheringleaves science is flawed? Oh shit you have to be trolling, right?
If you actually believe something so inherently stupid as saying "drawing conclusions from observable facts is a bad system", then I have nothing to say to you.
Really makes me wish my town was a little more American. Sumter, South Carolina has no beauty, no American lifestyle...it's sucks being 17 and seeing your town promote the worse of people.
no words to explain how i feel listening this group. i have just discovered post-rock and i didn't know that music could bring me this kind of sensations...it's like if i were out there, looking the earth and the rest of the stars, without care about anything.
In the beggining I feel some kind of agony, as if I really was forever lost... But as the song goes, it calms me down and I feel like it says "it's not all lost, if you believe it's not"
...man, thank you so much - for this video and for your whole channel: you made me discover Explosions in the Sky and God Is an Astronaut... ;-) Peace
Their music has helped me come to realise I might just be able to move on, even if it is without him.

As a man who considers himself to be religious, not spiritual, this music could take all of that away... I can Zen the fuck out to this stuff.
