  • If i was younger , i would get married :)

If i had been younger , i would have got married :)

    Are both ones correct ?

  • if I'd to choose .. it would be this guy ! Methinks equally correct sentence. Some ppl say that the use of " if i was " instead of " if i were" would be equally acceptable , others claim that " If i were ' is the only one proper form when "conditional in the past "sentences. How does it work ?

  • If __ were to...

Is used to emphasize that something is very unlikely or unthinkably horrible.

If she were to be rich, she would be horribly obnoxious.

  • thanxxx :-)

  • @maritkaaaaaaaaaa 'If he were to study" is a kind of aukward sentence but as the teacher mentioned u've to use "were" as a 2b verb along with if and would..Thnk yew

  • @maddimad16 hello :) thanx 4 the reply, I got it now, I was thought wrongly that "were" in the second cond. corresponds only to the first person "I" but now I know what it's all about:) take care!!

  • @maritkaaaaaaaaaa Good Luck !!

    n Thank u!!

  • @maddimad16 thank u 2!!!!! n c u :-)

  • @5.25 whats wrong with "if E had studied hard he would have been a good student" ??

  • Hi James

Great job. I have had a confusion about the usage of would before. it is clear. Thank you so so much. you are brilliant and great person. I apprecite you

  • can we say

If he concentrate more in class, he would get good grades

or is it always necessary to say WERE in a sentence that has If and Would ?

  • This is more advanced, but if you say...

If he concentrate(d) more in class, he would get a (better) grad(e)

    But better to say

If he concentrate(s) more in class, he (will) get a (better) grade

Avoid were unless it's something that is not going to happen.

  • oh thanks !! :)

  • If he were too concentrate more in class

  • you said noting about 1st 2nd 3rd conditional

  • That's not the issue in this lesson.

  • it's realy hady and profitable for me.thank's alot teacher i'm greatful to u.keep it up.we are flourishing sir.

  • really....handy....grateful

  • Thank you for the lesson.
