Are both ones correct ?

if I'd to choose .. it would be this guy ! Methinks equally correct sentence. Some ppl say that the use of " if i was " instead of " if i were" would be equally acceptable , others claim that " If i were ' is the only one proper form when "conditional in the past "sentences. How does it work ?

But better to say

If he concentrate(s) more in class, he (will) get a (better) grade

Avoid were unless it's something that is not going to happen.
