small 1s boy big ones girl lemme guess? i have 2 leopard tortoises and they have had 6 eggs and yours are so similar to mine ill post some vids up of them
It really is very simple to tell. Tortoise live exclusively on land, but can go into water to drink. A turtle, generally, live in water, and come onto land to bask. There are some exceptions such as a box turtle. Most of the time as well, turtles will be smaller than tortis however there also are exceptions to this as well.
@AnjoTheDude Tortoises are much different in the fact they are terrestrial meaning they live on land. Most turtles are aquatic with the exception of the box turtle (which I own). The biological differences between the two other than size are not apparent to me however I do notice that diet varies as well as behavior.
I recently got a pancake tortoise. I only bought it because I knew that when I go off to college next year my mom will take care of it. all tortoises, under the proper care, will live AT LEAST 35 YEARS! Honestly think to yourself if you want to devote the next 35+ years to this challenging, yet very rewarding creature? It won't be you who suffers when the animal doesn't get attention - it'll be the tortoise. Make wise decisions, and I hope I'm not too late.
What do you feed your leopard tortoises exactly? I just got a baby and I have been trying to feed it grasses but it wont touch them the only thing it will eat is kale because thats what the breeder I bought him from would feed him. Is this going to make his shell pyrimid?
Maybe you have the wrong kind of grass. Try dandelion, that's not sprayed with pesticides. If you're not sure if it is, then wash the weed really well. Mine also love clover. Kale's got high calcium content, so that's ok. But I think the shell will get too thick if he only eats kale, so try Romaine Lettuce, and the fat juicy kind of grass, all properly washed anyone tell me if coconut's bad for tortoises? cactus is good dont feed it that too long, or else sores will appear on its mouth.
I've just bought myself a 2 year old Leopard Tortoise, quick question though, if I wanted to buy another one, maybe a baby could I? If so could it be another female?
i've got two leopard tortoises! one of them could race yours but the other one just likes to sit there and look pretty..... maybe he needs some red bull...

There is an individual defference in growth, Also favorite food...
Although natural grass is best in the process which overeats and grows
rapidly a shell will change...
