  • magnific!!!!!!!

  • like my instructor always says to me your moving to fast this guy is blazing through it but its a competition and he's doing it this way but somebody tell me what does that kata teach.

  • @abomb10 well your instructor is wrong. What does that kata teach? well... what does any kata teach?

Answer: To forge a better spirit and the arts of karate do. If you dont have an open mind to see its a choreography for an imaginary fight, its not our fault. If a kata means nothing to you, why should a dance be cool? They're both choreographys (as Jackie Chan says), its just that a dance is to have fun or impress, and a kata is to have fun, impress, and an art of war.

  • @rofonator99 kata means formal exercise you are working out when you do it and yeah you don't need to move fast you just need to hit your points it is an exercise for combat but its an exercise by it self. and my instructor probably taught your instructor what is his name and I will know.

  • @abomb10 His name is Javitxu Lirio. Kata has to be fast, as if you where in a fight. We are talking of karate, not about tai chi. This should be like a real fight, one of the things that influences points is the Zanshin, the impression it gives.

  • @rofonator99 hes not a grand master if you do a kata like that you rush and forget key things such as blocking before you punch or combination blocking but you are stuck on things should be fast you will make a mistake and kill one of your class mates with that thought.

  • @abomb10 My trainer is not a grand master, but he is taught by one, Luis Maria Sanz. He has trained with Master Ottawa several times for your information.

Since when does "do it in a rush" mean "do it fast but without ending techniques"? In my club, we do the full techniques, very fast and very powerful. We don't do katas with our class mates, as thats called Bunkai. We do perfect controls and we are one of the best clubs in the area.

  • @abomb10 One more thing. Don't say that Luca Valdesi (the guy in the video) is doing it too fast or bad because he has been the world champion several times, I dont know if he is now, but probably he is.

  • @rofonator99 thats competition and if he can't use that to fight then thats the only place he can use it but again you are putting words in my mouth think about it like this i just said how he did it there was too fast doesn't mean it doesn't look good. So he might do it like its combat in class.

  • @Miky95karate Yes, this is a martial art... a sport... a philosophy of life. MY PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE!

  • @WLoZoo its not really a sport tell you the truth.

  • this dude is fast

  • @karate160 This dude, is the most decorated wkf kata man of all time.

  • So just to clarify, the WKF approved karate gi is not required, right? Only in terms of safety (hand pad, foot pad, face shield for the cadets) is WKF approved required?

I ask this because I noticed Luca is not wearing a WKF approved karate gi.

  • he placed first.. after his "close" imbalance at 2:15? damn.. I should start competing with gankaku from now on, seeing as the judging isn't so strict anymore, lol..

  • SHUT UP IDIOTS!!! Where the respect is? I hate who doesn't respect this sport!!!

  • @WLoZoo karate is not a sport, is a martial art...

  • @iordanstefan1 martial art my ass!

  • @doktormozg QUERO VER VC VIR BATE DE FRENTE AKI COM NOS KARATECAS..

  • @GabrielMichelan Doma tu esi tads kruts tapec ka es nezinu ko tu raksti? Tad tu esi jobans mudaks!

  • @WLoZoo in my opinion this isn't a sport...is an art.

  • this is not final wkf 2010 in Belgrade, it is golden league in Salzburg, Austria

  • @ecigorjan yes you are correct

  • Esa fue la final en el Open de Austria. No es la final en el mundial de Sérvia. El oponente es diferente. Los arbitros son diferentes!!!

  • How old is Valdesi? I've been a little more impressed with Diaz lately.

  • @lukkiop 34.

  • @madgecic Thanks for the reply. From what I could understand Diaz was much younger.

  • @lukkiop not really aye.....antonio is 30.....not a great deal younger.

  • @madgecic Hmm I guess I just figured Antonio was probably in his mid 20's but I guess i'm just bad at guessing ages.

  • Perdita di equilibrio che poteva costare cara!!! Luca resta sempre il miglior esecutore di kata della storia del karate moderno

  • This may not be his best Gankaku, but it's still a great preformance.

    He's a bullet!! :]
