As stated none of the more advanced tanks have faced off, but only the M1 has killed other tanks. The M1 has been in a fight. Challenger proved it can also fight. Would leo or LeClerc do as well? Probably would T90 dominate t72 or would ztz99 dominate t72? Probably but will all but M1 and Challenger its a guess. If you want to be the baddest you got to put in the work! Nicest looking of the old soviet designes thats for sure!

ERA is good to decrease the HEAT projectiles by a counter-explosion.

However, against APDFSP the best thing is a massive block of composite

armor. The Type 99 actually uses also modular composite armor on the front

of the turret and at its sideracks. Only the blocks on the front chassis seems

to be ERA. But it was mentioned that ERA blocks could be added.

Leo 2A6M's armour is more advanced.... the Leo is faster with much better suspension allowing better ease of firing while in movement while offroading, the Gun has a higher range, the computer systems in a leo are 2nd to none. This is bullshit Chinese propaganda.

Leo2A6M has the same armour as the 2A6 version with additional heavier skirts and an added plate at the belly to protect against mines and IEDs. It is not faster than Type-99, it's top speed is 70kph, while Type-99 has a top speed of 80kph, because both have 1500hp engines, while Type-99 is about 10 tonnes lighter. Suspension is the same - torsion bar suspension. As for ease of firing while in movement off road, you're dead wrong.

Leo2s use a human loader which cannot maintain an average rate of fire over rough terrain, when the tank bounces and hits potholes and bumps at speeds higher than 25km. That's were the autoloader simply has no equal. Autoloader gives chinese and russian tanks a sustained rate of fire no matter the terrain and speed involved. Also, all modern tank guns have a maximum range of 10+ km, effective range depends on the rounds used.

That top speed is highly recommended never to be reached because of trouble with the engine overheating(granted, its being worked on), the armour is not the same, its BASED off the leo 2 because the chinese were never one for originality. And my son, not all torsion bars are built the same. And the chinese do not have access to the LAHAT which our ranges anything the reds are putting out.

LAHAT has the same range (with a smaller warhead) as Invar-M ATGM of the russian T-90. On top of that, LAHAT is not standard issue equipment of Leo 2 tanks.

And yes, all torsion bars are built the same as they use the same mechanical principal. If you're talking about materials used for build, that will only influence the average life expectancy of the said parts not their effectiveness in providing suspension. Top speed of 80km for Type-99 speaks enough about the quality of the suspension.

right, most modern guns can usually rife around 10km of maximum range, although at that range no kind of round would be strong enough to destroy the front armor

of any 3rd gen tanks. the maximum effective combat range to maintain maximum penetration is usually somwhere between 2 - 3km, unless they can launch ATGMs like the T-80/90 or Type 96/99 which would extend to 5km.

@hjtjl The US to begin with has a bloated defense budget so it needs some paring down. Not all of europe is in financial crisis. The stronger economies historically germany and france are doing just fine. The drag are the less competitive economies such as greece, spain and to a lesser extent italy. Europe will pull through but the main economies are intact. China is ascending but will it ascend to superpower status that is not a given yet. At the moment they dominate the low cost manufacturing.
