Good review and I agree the flashbacks give a ton of pathos to Penguin and you can't help but feel bad for what he went through growing up and yet you see how he's the flipside of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
i agree, they did a good job with the flashbacks...but what really set it apart for me, was the scene with him and his mom in present time...i think out of the issues that i picked up this week...this and detective comics were the best two...
Hmm think I'll pick this up next week when I get my other comics. With these two Batman related titles it would be cool to get a 5 issue series like you said covering some of the Batman villians written by Paul Dini.

Hopefully Penguin doesn't become an anti-hero, like alot of Batman villain have been recently, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.
