  • I still don't understand the television at the foot of Buoso's bed. What is the setting supposed to be in this performance?

  • @tmwysong I believe it's supposed to be Italy in the post-WWII period -- it looks a lot like an Italian film comedy of the '50s.

  • @thesafekind

Actually the score says its set in 1259, But I do believe it works best in this period.

  • @tmwysong It's supposed to be set in a medieval-era house, but in the 1950's.

  • está un poco pasada de edad la Mykyntenko podria ser la madre de Lauretta

  • @Elgati07: si pero tiene una voz muy linda y juvenil, ¿no crees?

  • This is definately a great performance. Very funny. Very musical. Very human. Very true.

And as to being "gringo", Desotavento, sorry, but I couldn't disagree more.

On stage are 4 Italians (2 in the major roles), 4 Americans and a Polish soprano.

The attention to detail is astounding.

    And, most important: it's FUNNY!

  • Totally agreed. Great production, great singers, and great conductor!

  • sorry sound

  • mere less, the soun is very gringo

  • What does "gringo" sound mean?

  • great performance
