  • That's a short circuit not a ball lightning.

  • Yikes!

  • boards.4chan.org/x/res/9513489

  • @AVanover5 404 NOT FOUND. Lol u fail

  • St Elmos Fire IS Ball Lightning...

  • I thought ball lighting only lasts like 2 seconds

  • This is not a ball lightning, this is called the saint elmo's fire.

  • Katamaris being sent to the Cosmos!

  • Apparently they don't ground individual poles in Saudi Arabia.

  • HERE COMES MEGATRON!! RUNN!!!!

  • hadouken!

  • was this video recorded in the 70's?

  • This is not a ball lightning. This is an electric arc. But still beautiful.

  • just raiden at the mortal kombat tournament

  • just as i saw it outside my house although the balls were blue .. five minutes later electrical engineers where there investigating the same power junction it appeared around. I went outside pretending to garden but really listening to what they were saying and well they seemed confused because nothing was wrong. perhaps they had power surge. I mean five minutes 2 get there still makes me wonder what happen especially as one ball travelled a good 3 meters across a roof top

  • Not ball lighting just shitty saudi power lines

  • fake and gay and persian.

  • wow i'd be thrilled but scared shitless

  • KAME HAME HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • It's a giant scale horizontal "Jacobs Ladder"

  • thats the VOLTAGE travel the will be crashed by thunder and lightning :)

  • hadukan oo sorry

  • It's a shame the road they were on was so bump....Oh wait they were standing still..Thumbs up for your steady hand..

  • looks like a DC hv transmission fault. The reason the arc moves is the same reason the armature fires out of a railgun, the lorentz force I think.

  • dumb arabs, thats a failing powerline

  • This is not ball lightning, but a very interesting and cool video to have posted either way. This is merely unbalanced, out-of-control electricity pretty much exploding through one end of the power-lines and surging its way across it to the other end, where the surge dies (or just regains balance, not sure). Very cool to watch, though. Thanks for posting. ;)

  • @ShilEmPara Basically a plasma generated by electrical arc, right?

  • Actually, you've just given me an idea. Ground strikes require an ion channel to be made it creates a highly charged region at both ends of the channel, kind of like an invisible power line, that's why you can feel that lightning is going to strike before it actually does from the field generated. What if ball lightning is just this unbalanced out of control electricity making it's way up this invisible lightning line? Kind of makes sense.

  • Someone is downloading a Chuck Norris movie. ;)

  • Magowie się napierdalają.

    That's a Wizards fight.

  • Chuck Norris version of the Jacob's Ladder: arc-over across threephase lines.

Perhaps caused by lines swinging in high wind, or by a downed line getting too close to the others.

  • That's scary as all hell there!

  • im sorry for everyone who was on the phone at that moment

  • chuck norris use internet pole

  • my balls light up when Im in the bed.

  • too much juice

  • Who the fuck divided by zero?

  • @codeythesilent lmfao good one

  • @codeythesilent LOL

  • @codeythesilent

hahaa :D you made me laugh

  • I bet the semi was "hauling ass" when he saw that

  • im sorry..the number you dialed is disconnected. please try your call again later.

  • That is SO awesome! Can you imagine how that driver in that 18-wheeler must have felt? I'm sure he was pooping his pants seeing that coming towards him! Thank you for posting this; a great demonstration of tremendous electrical energy. Wow.

  • its lightning runing the power lines. its no ball lightning but it is still very cool. :)

  • powers out !!!!!

  • longest flame of flamethrower i ever seen so far. lol

  • thats not ball lightning its just chuck norris throwing hadoukens from off in the distance

  • @slowlybutfasholy I would say more like sonic booms

  • cool power lines bro

  • dude thats a ball lightning it had lasted about 5 or more seconds and it explodes with a thunder like sound wow i think it real :)

  • looks interesting, but unfortunately its not a ball lightning.

its a very long arc connecting two power lines, and probarbly moving with the wind. its humming with the frequency of the alternating current in the power lines.

But its the same material, air turned into plasma by elictricity, and touching it could even be more dangerous than touching a real ball lightning.

  • Hello... since when does ball lightning have a hum at exactly 60 Hz... should tell you something, like, the powerlines shorted out.

  • me do diz in after efekts every day... for tv... commercials... can you sell me this shineey efekt so i could apply it to my fancy commercial buzinezz? thagnz!

  • SOFT BOMB BLU-114B LOOK IT UP!

  • holy thats one of the best and SAVE systems ever

  • No, someone's doctoring the fucking film, motherfucker!

  • Well, ball lightning does not give a "humm" at 50Hz..

    BUT, cool wiev anyway.

  • I've seen ball lightning before and yes it looks like that. Except what I saw floated down from high altitude for several minutes and then seemed to hover for a while before descending into trees where it immediately broke up into a lot of multi-forked lightining bolts.

  • @txsray1 ,, I saw one too... and it floated up to me and hovered just a few feet in front of my face before shooting off and exploding on a metal framed green house in the garden next door,,, and it boke some glass. It was a bright golden ball the size of a very big orange,,, and Im glad it made some distance before exploding because that was the loudest bang I ever heard.

  • Hitler's new weapon

  • nice :D vid

  • That's pretty hardcore

  • Can these commenters get any more immature?...

  • son goku`s kameh-hame-ha

  • thats the jizz of chuck norris

  • nah its traveling along lines so its just a surge moving along I guess but it was really cool!

  • Big big Jacob's Ladder!

  • @DragonFlyback256

    Very BIG ! :D

  • watch?v=-fqNFZD8aGQ check out at 1m 07s at this link.

    Sound similar to this video?

How about this one? - watch?v=UIdjfDdYs9w

gee guys, looks like EM weaponry to me.

  • Isnt it weierd how it starts on the phone and ends on it when it reachs a new pole

  • That's what a serge looks like that's not ball lightning.

  • this is very very very fast phone line or internet XD

  • wow

  • wow, this looks so awesome. XD

  • thats how we Teleport from place to place...Technology.

  • This is why everybody prefers to live in the UK and USA.

  • Ball Lightning is slower.

  • hmmmm I love the way how the arc is going to ground...really impressive video .... I would never think that it's possible to draw the arc that way , when it's phase to phase short circuit....electricity is fokin unpredictable and amazing! :PP

  • kaaaaaaaaaameeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaammmeeeeeehhhaaaaaaaaaa!

  • Это не шаровая молния. Это банальная дуга.

А вот чё они там сотворили со своей высоковольтной, чтобы такие луги получились - это интересно.

    Красиво.

  • Chuck Norris was having a big party at his house that night so he called the power plant and requested a boost in the line voltage. It was a great party, the ideal distance to listen to his stereo from was about 3 miles ( in a concrete bunker ).

  • yeah its not ball lighting its plasma..and then the transformers blow up, causing the plamsa to burn along the electrical wire. until it reaches the end which we notice causes it to burn out.

  • PLASMA POWER!

  • <Бля это не шаровая молния

  • Some one is using lots of power

  • this is cool either way, but I'm not sure why electricity just traveling alone the powerlines would show up as huge balls of light.

  • most erre mit mondjak. szaúd-arábia. :D vannak helyek ahol mindég zajlik valami.

  • Not ball lightning. It's electic arc on the powerlines. Still cool though! Nice job!

  • just poorly insulated cables..waiting to kill anyone close by...rich country, poor attitude

  • There goes HAARP employees playing while drinking again...

  • Fabrique´en Chine.

  • power cable - made in china

  • Wow that's following the electrical lines. Is this from the sun? Wow!

  • thats designed to do that saudi people just like to live dangerously duh common knowledge ppl

  • that tree looked scary

  • thats what happens when 2 many people download porn............

  • dude u r nobody , that is not real ball lightning lam dude

  • ball lightning is soooooo strange.......

  • Its clearly show that the lighting goes across the power grid . And that time it was raining , so maybe the power line got short circuit

  • what happen if you get closer? or touch it?

  • More like one BIGASS Jacob's Ladder!

  • WAR!

  • that isnt ball lightning you can clearly see its fire caught in the wires dumb fuck

  • @DJkstarz dumb fuck dude do you know what ur talking about? ball lightning = heated atoms turned in to plasma which causes a reaction _like_ fire. and by the way to the all others there's clearly balls past the power grid?

  • Ball lightning or not - it looks awesome

  • Yep, that's a electrical arc, due to the poor electrical grids. You see them a lot in third world countries.

  • its from the power lines (:

  • it's lik a jacob's latter but horizontal... its a wonder that the powerlines don't melt or atleast start to slowly sag to the ground

  • What the fuck is wrong with their power lines, seriously.

  • 0:16 theres a UFO. I can see there is a highway on top of the hill about just under the power lines, but between the road the cameraman is standing and thehighway, in the valley, there is something moving that looks like a flying saucer. Look closely and you can see a metallic object with the light (of this ball lihtning, electrical discharge or watever ) reflecting off of it.

  • Of course ball lightning is plasma! All lightning is plasma! I am now terrified to put anything even remotely scientific on Youtube for fear that idiots will tear it apart!

  • Im glad those wires do not hook up with my house...

  • 3rd world 'technology'- hahahaha

  • that was fucking cool even though it wasn't ball lightning

  • what's curious tho is that it's going sideways

large electric arcs such as these usually go from top to bottom due to the superheated air (which contains the ions necessary for electric current) moving upward until the resistance is too high for any current to flow

  • Comment removed

  • it is in fact real its only going across the power lines because the voltage inside can "charge" it and thats why people think its fake but seriously get a education

  • My father told me a story where he saw a ball lightning wrap around a tree stripping the bark off

  • in soviet russia lightnings balls you

  • @gunnershooter007 hahahahaha that litterally made me laugh. Thanks.

  • typical saudi arabia

  • Well that looks safe. 5/5 anyway

  • its called powerlines

  • @twisterfreak23

    P-O-W-E-R-L-I-N-E-S

  • that's not ball lightning its just a mouse running across the line with a flashlight

  • @fuji9991

    Idiot?

  • @1258fenix it for sure is not ball lightning. You can see how its running across the line. Discription says thet it happened atfer lightning stroke power line so the line was overcharged and electricity was "hanging" in line.

  • @fuji9991 darn i misread it " its just a Moses running with flashlight" -.-

  • ball lightning is dangerous and all lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun

  • ball lightning or not, its still interesting

  • This is not ball lightening . Its a fault on a power line ( it may have bee initiated by the line being struck by lightening ). Its an arc between the phase conductors that you can see / hear moving along as its carried by convection currents , etc.

  • this sint ball lightning.. ball lightning travels independent to things like power lines or other conductive materials

  • if it is real this video is very important for science.

  • it is actually exists, it will even go to rooms and if somebody moves, it will light u way round :D , and its very dangerous

  • No to niezłe heh. Ciekawy efekt.

  • not ball lightning

  • looks like you guys need to work on power lines in saudi arabia ....

  • cole mcgrath new power he can travel as electricity

  • hmmm...wonder what this button does?

  • That is just unbelievably dangerous. :O

  • No ball lightning here. Still, that's a really neat vid.

  • I have seen a ball lightning come from telephone line(next house was hit by a lightning and burned). It was like chemical stuff burning brightly in the air. And it followed me three rounds in the room keeping an even distance, moving like it was affected by movement of air behind me. When I run close by an electric wire it followed it up and left a scourched mark at the place where the wire went through the wall. It wasn´t so big, but smaller amount of electrity was involved.

  • Uhh wtf. Not ball lighting.

  • This is most likely a plasma-comprised "ball" of supercharged electrical pulses d/t a failed 'end-box' or other protective device. BUT this is super cool video!!! niiiiice.

  • This is most likely a plasma-comprised "ball" of supercharged electrical pulses d/t a failed 'end-box' or other protective device. BUT this is super cool video!!! niiiiice.

  • i guess it's from the electrical lines...?

  • that pretty cool

  • Well even if it aint ball lightning, it still looks pretty neat :D

  • Great catch!

Arcing phase to phase likely started by a high voltage spike perhaps initiated by a lightning strike somewhere on the line.

You can hear the B-natural pitch of 60 Hz AC in the arc. (There I thought they were 50 Hz = G# pitch.)

    Problem with electrical system.

  • Not ball lightning but still cool to watch.

  • Yeah, if it was just one, id say it would be possible, but sequencial suggests another source. Ball Lightning is known to follow. My dad saw some as a teenager bouncing down rail road tracks, so it does happen.

  • That isn't ball lightning, those are obviously hadoukens.

  • @iownu92

    LOL!

Judging by the direction of the hadoukens, I would say

Ken is standing just behind that hill.

  • omfg what the fuck is this ?

  • Yeah that's some serious faulty wiring!

  • Its like a giant jacob's ladder.

  • Looks like Jacob's Ladder

  • How does it?

  • omg

  • "Amazing"

  • I dont see ball lightening. I see a poorly designed electrical grid where surges keep flowing across a line with no sources of lockouts or shutdowns. Way to go.

  • @sk8nrocker23 Precisely. It's just a case of arcing I think.

  • @sk8nrocker23 haha. only in diaper head land.

  • @sk8nrocker23 an artificial recreation (not on purpose) of how ball lightning is created. and you sound like a western worlder taking any shot you can at the middle east.

  • Comment removed

  • badly designed power lines?

  • That ain't ball lightning, it's phase to phase arcing between power lines. It's plasma, same stuff as ball lightning, but not ball lightning.

  • @ImpyLane Ball lightning isnt plasma...

  • @DoubleHeIix is too :3

  • @ImpyLane probably a lot less stronger than natural ball lightning though right?

  • nice
