  • I love it so very much to be surrounded by all of such wonderful music lovers, that really feel the same as I do! It's such a good feeling to have been a contemporary of this man.

  • GOD!!!!!!!

  • I cried. Goosebumps all over!

  • Glenn Gould at his best!!!

  • I LOVE HEAVY METAL , SYMPHONY X , YNGWIE MALMSTEEN , ECT. BUT I TELL ALL MY FREINDS IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE GREATEST MUSICIAN OF OUR TIME YOU MUST TALK ABOUT GLENN GOULD . .DAMN THAT MAN WAS A GOD!!! OH BY THE WAY , IF TRY THAT ( HE WAS UNORTHADOX) CRAP I'LL JUST CALL YOU A RETARD.

  • He's as good as Gould.

  • this was very late bach

  • @jayliew1 Not many understand it, but I agree!

  • glenn....

  • This is the second movement with orchestra. I used a string quartet. {sigh}

  • Glenn Gould just breaks my heart.

  • solo bach avrebbe potuto mettere le note insieme in questo modo

  • che armonia

  • Hideous place...

    Great music.

  • @SierraNeef i agree, its obviously a studio set up to look like a badly done up renaissance mansion!,

  • Bach keyboard concerto 1 in d minor and this one in g are both what I call little preseants from God, wrapped and presented to us by Glenn Gould. A beautiful, joyful expression of love to mankind.

  • un univers tellement divin, que je finis par croire que dieu existe

  • A comforting caress of God for our souls

  • Great actor.

  • Gould playing at his prime

  • Religion is for idiots, lets not mention it again.

  • @fr3d420 You may not like the word religion, but find something from the spirit of LOVE and connect with that. Religion is the organized study of god. You can chuck that (God doesnt mind) but go on your own personal search for truth and spirit and you will find HIM, and I assure you that experience will be nothing like what you thought, or religion teaches.

  • When I go walking down that long tunnel, I dont think it will be Jesus meeting me at the other end. And that long tunnel wont be sloping upward, but almost vertically downward.

  • It is in your hands to change that!

  • ...clearly the father of modern western music. magnificent.

  • I imagine slowly walking down a tunnel of light to meet Jesus in heaven. (Although I am not religious, I feel like this is an appropriate image)

  • Haha sounds quite religious to me :D

  • A very appropiate image though, since Bach himself was in fact a very religieous man.

  • sadly, the orchestra does not really match gould's playing style

  • The ending of this piece always nearly makes me cry...

    Bach + Gould = Wonder

  • My personal, all-time favorite Bach piece. It speaks to me and haunts me.

  • Questo è Bach, l'autore più melodrammatico mai esistito!!! E che si fottano i filologi ammuffiti!!!!!!!!!

  • ...

  • Glenn has always inspired me to try harder in my piano practicing. I remember watching him live on CBC and listening to his radio programmes. I thought he was brilliant and a great entertainer. His comedic characters were excellent. He was ahead of his time.

  • obviously you must be too young to remember him in a personal sense. His characters on CBC television were hysterically funny. You must not have listened to "So you want to write a fugue?' either. You should really be more careful about looking like such a dunderhead in public. Glenn would not have given you the time of day. He was a genius, not an ingenuous moron as you seem to be.

  • Were you drunk when you wrote this?

  • Effectus preaclarus!

  • Try Better in Latin?

  • No it means "excellent performance"

  • Thank you for sharing this video! What a find! I love it.

  • Is there someone able to tell me which year this unforgettable concert was recorded? maybe in the sixties? thanks

  • The original recording was released in 1967, if that's a help to you.

  • thank you so much!

  • This is my favorite Glenn Gould recording on Columbia (they did it in New York with Glochsmann and the NY Phil players. To see it here is unbelievable. Thanks so much!

  • I have always loved this piece, and am literally blown away by how even more beautiful it sounds with the piano replacing the solo. What a fantastic man Gould was, and how wonderful of you to post this. Thanks !

  • A most valuable recording. Thank you for posting this.

  • Not at all.
