Fuck no it isn't, it can end a helicopter vs helicopter battle in seconds.

I would rather have my gunner able to soften AA for me allowing me to finish it off with a quick rocket pass then spend 20 seconds shooting it with a machine gun while my helicopter health slowly degenerates to nothing

This being said you can still tell it was designed for multiple platforms unlike Battlefield 2 that was designed for PC. The game was harder and wasn't designed around getting awards and 20k points every round. The awards you got didn't come easy. I was disappointed in Battlefield 3, it was too easy compared to Battlefield 2 although a little more balanced perhaps. Battlefield 2 > Battlefield 3 > 2142

It's not useless on console, just learn to lead. Done any MAV roadkills? if not try it, eventually you'll get there. So does it work for the TV missle. Just imagine as if the camera is a few meters infront of the actual missle.

its a lot more difficult on xbox... the missile turns slowly, and the controls are inverted, but there is a distance to them now, they only go so far, thanks to our patch.

@AbuSaa They've changed the maneuverability of the tv missile since the patch. In this video I used my arrows keys to direct it or make sustained tight turns and then mouse to aim...

Not sure if you knew but you can also bind your joystick to it.
