Just the extension of the war by sending in more troops is strong enough evidence that he has a different agenda. We must go after the insurance companies. Force them to lower rates so people can afford coverage.
We should also look at lifestyles. If I choose to smoke then I should be made to pay more. Same with over weight and other risk factors.
Costs also have to do with people that don't take care of their health. We're all penalized by those that care less about their own health.

I watched the health care summit last thurs from beginning to end. I wanted to see with my own eyes what's all the confusion about regarding what's the best for us.
I believe you accessment is quite accurate except you seem to have the political parties in reverse.
I doubt this was an oversight and far more likely that you are a split-tongued Republican.
A less educated loud mouth variety rather than the more educated loud mouth variety.

@texytam42: It is about taking care of someone else. Premiums charged to businesses (even the really small ones) will be higher. Also, federal funds will be used for elective abortion even in public schools.
Also coverage is mandatory (forced) so if you dont buy in because you still cant afford the premium you'll be penalized $3,800 by the govt thru IRS. Pls study the bill & you will find it is just an awful can full of worms in a pretty package with a few chunks of meat.

I agree with you completely. But the people here that are wanting THIS bill to be passed are the problem. THIS bill is crap. We need to can it and redo it right.
Insurance companies are the problem, I know, and Obama needs to go after them.
But Dems are screaming that Repubs are the insurance lovers and we are not!
If we all could get together and write to our reps we could stop this HC bill dead. But our division is based on distrust for each other and that will be the death of us all.

Well the majority was wrong on electing Mr. Obama, but there really wasn't much of a choice with McCain/Palin. I don't like the way Obama has handled the presidency. Dissing the American is not becoming. Even Carter is objecting to being compared to him. I really hope Jeb Bush gets to the White House at some point. He is all business and very smart unlike his father or brother

The majority voted for Obama to do just this! To pass health care. It was part of the Democratic Platform. The majority has already spoken when he was elected overwhelmingly.
The Republican Congress,Party of No, are bought off by Blue Cross Whores and if not passed, no one will have ANY private health care as it will cost a family in 5 years, $28,000 for just the premiums according to the CBO.

why are democrats in congress taking so long to get together with their majorities and pass healthcare? There's too many of them that don't understand that they are suppose to jump when Pelosi says jump. They don't seem to be listening to our president when he explains that the day healthcare passes, the recession will come to an end and everyone in the country will have a job. All of America's problems will be over if we just pass this one bill.
