be sure everyone knows that the minglewood band did not write or sing this initially....toy talmadge caldwell,jr wrote can't you see and it came out with his marshall tucker band in 1972.......they were from my hometowm of spartanburg,sc where i still reside......your version is a compliment to toy..
@MegaJunkman007 Cool... I actually thought Waylon Jennings was the writer of this song or Hank Williams. Marshall Tucker Band(Toy Talmadge Caldwell) obviously does it the best but I really like the way Minglewood Band does it with the story in the front. It just seem to set the whole song up. Always gave me goose bumps everytime I learn it. One of my all time favorites right up there with Simple Man, Working Class Hero and Cats in the Cradle :-)
