@rosssscow These guys have been and gone man, one of the better things to come out of falkirk where I live beside, besides smack and the junkies. Definately worth checking out their solo stuff from both.
Conceived my son to this song, or on the weekend we first heard it, anyway - so respect is due - and the drugs weren't bad either........Happy Christmas, Archie - lots of love and many a poignant moment with or without yer Ma' - your no good, drug takin' old raver of a Dad - love you mate...........
here is how they talk in Scotland. It's like that movie TRAINSPOTTING and IS it English? Crazy down and upbeat song from 1996 that u can go nuts to or chill to
Mate just linked me this vid, absolutly love it! we do this kinda thing at some parts, grab my mic's his guitar, wire up the kef's. and just go for it. cheers mate.
One of the most under rated tracks of the 1990s. You will start off thinking of it as a rather dull CD filler, and end up, perhaps a year later realising that it is genuinely brilliant.
@spittal69 Thanks! That was my point spittledick. Teenagers copy Arab Strap song 12 years on, spiff it up with better production and naughtier lyrics, and it's a hit.
Saw them live on their final tour before the split, it was amazing. The ultimate lyrics, awesome music, ultime blood sweat & tears stuff. Goodbye Arab Strap.
I've been looking for a song by Arab Strab that was played a few times by John Peel around '98. I don't remember what it was called but it peaked with what sounded like a full orchestra in the background. Really amazing song. Sorry I'm vague but if it sounds familiar to any long time fans then please message me with the title, thanks.
@patrickk77362 : I think I know the one you mean....Was it about seeing a girl dressed n orange at the garage and putting an addvert into the LIST trying to find her then going to see belle & sebastian play?
I think the peel version had Belle & Sebastian actually play keyboards on it....it was amazing...I had it on an old tape of the Peel show....maybee you can find a Pel show torrent with it on?
yeah, but I was only annoyed over the Fickle Disco Bitch scenario. I am sure Aids is realy a good bloke. So it must have been the one before me, the skinny one with the glasses, ha ha.
Although I really do like the music.. I really do... but this is art... this was the first "record" that brought this home... this is art... and long may it live.
been tee total over two years and by god everytime i hear this classic tune it makes me want a drink. a thought she had been quite pretty untill matthew informed me was in fact a pig.

This is very similar to the narrative sections of The Teenagers' "Homecoming" track. The whole song in fact is quite similar.
One is heading towards 2 million views, the other towards only 60 thousand. Go figure.

@handdrewit Except this was realsed in 1996 and The Teenagers track was released in 2008. Go figure.
