  • Shit i'm bored!!

  • Who are you guys?

Its the first time i've heard your music... Pretty catchy like.

  • @rosssscow These guys have been and gone man, one of the better things to come out of falkirk where I live beside, besides smack and the junkies. Definately worth checking out their solo stuff from both.

  • Conceived my son to this song, or on the weekend we first heard it, anyway - so respect is due - and the drugs weren't bad either........Happy Christmas, Archie - lots of love and many a poignant moment with or without yer Ma' - your no good, drug takin' old raver of a Dad - love you mate...........

  • this sounds nothing like The Teenagers..just coz they both talk/sing?

  • here is how they talk in Scotland. It's like that movie TRAINSPOTTING and IS it English? Crazy down and upbeat song from 1996 that u can go nuts to or chill to

  • this tune makes me smile every time x

  • spoonfork.

  • never forget

  • i wish it would stop fucking raining

  • @machines0fdog just stay in and listen to this :D

  • not trying to sound like a pretentious fuck but these lyrics remind me of holden caulfield, if he'd been a scot

  • top o the pops

  • love arabstrap, hate arabs

  • @shlomonew arab hates you too

  • @shlomonew i'm not arab, but really shame on you! I hate pathetic people like you.

  • @raul7flove7f7 what did i say? that i love arabstrap?,its a great band !

  • I bought this song at my local record store in early 1998. It was lost in 2002. Haven't heard it again until now.

  • Mate just linked me this vid, absolutly love it! we do this kinda thing at some parts, grab my mic's his guitar, wire up the kef's. and just go for it. cheers mate.

  • Knowing bands like this exist makes me proud to be Scottish.

  • heard it on 6 music today had to hear it again :)

  • @neverbeen2 Me too. Lamaq is awesome, giving me so many good new tunes. Fuck Radio 4. It's just Tories chatting to themselves now. ;_;

  • great scott!

  • pandora sent me here

  • Amazing.

  • Mad For Sadness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what are hipsters??

  • @mspubquiz83 People that hate mainstream stuff, and want you to know it.

  • after listening to this song, i came to the conclusion that i absolutly have to learn how to play it

  • One of the most under rated tracks of the 1990s. You will start off thinking of it as a rather dull CD filler, and end up, perhaps a year later realising that it is genuinely brilliant.

  • @spittal69 Thanks! That was my point spittledick. Teenagers copy Arab Strap song 12 years on, spiff it up with better production and naughtier lyrics, and it's a hit.

  • @handdrewit spiff lawl

  • This is very similar to the narrative sections of The Teenagers' "Homecoming" track. The whole song in fact is quite similar.

One is heading towards 2 million views, the other towards only 60 thousand. Go figure.

  • @handdrewit Except this was realsed in 1996 and The Teenagers track was released in 2008. Go figure.

  • this is a great song from a great band. Simple as that.

  • I see pfork is sending the hipsters here?

  • @ElvisSnake23 Feels good man

  • yea heard this on colin murray as well. he's probably a nice lad but nick grimshaws show is shite

  • Saw them live on their final tour before the split, it was amazing. The ultimate lyrics, awesome music, ultime blood sweat & tears stuff. Goodbye Arab Strap.

  • 1 of 4 tracks I can definitively attribute to John Peel

  • 8.2% mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • "Man now i love Scottish people" - An American

  • A Mary Anne Hobbs Breezeblock classic.

  • the first big weekend = 15 June 1996

  • That song is "I Saw You", and can be found on this here tube.

  • fucking summer in glasgow. yaaaas. Can't wait to come home.

  • This is a fucking amazing song....I bought their 1st album when it 1st came out on a recommendation of a friend...it blew me away.

I left my job, started a band and have never looked back.

Saw them live loads....they toured with Prolapse in about '96....those gigs were some of my very fave ever!

  • Oh yes i remember this stuff on John Peel back in the 90's. Breaks my heart.

  • This is brilliant. Utterly.

  • I've been looking for a song by Arab Strab that was played a few times by John Peel around '98. I don't remember what it was called but it peaked with what sounded like a full orchestra in the background. Really amazing song. Sorry I'm vague but if it sounds familiar to any long time fans then please message me with the title, thanks.

  • @patrickk77362 : I think I know the one you mean....Was it about seeing a girl dressed n orange at the garage and putting an addvert into the LIST trying to find her then going to see belle & sebastian play?

I think the peel version had Belle & Sebastian actually play keyboards on it....it was amazing...I had it on an old tape of the Peel show....maybee you can find a Pel show torrent with it on?

  • @JCMcGee "I Saw You", as per comment above.

  • Sounds like my weekends. It's nice because the places he describes are the places I frequent on the weekends. Nostalgia.

  • just dusted off philophobia, hand me the aspirin (!) but wonderful album, so cheer myself up with this, thanks.

  • hoi do arab strap do a tune with 1 of them sitar things and its a mad remix of jumping jack fflash i think its them fuck knows

  • ive been trying to spread the strap for easy 10 years now they are amazing

  • ....ended up dancin with some blonde girl, thought she had been quite pretty until lastnight when matthew informed me she in fact been a pig.

    favourite line ever

  • my eyes were quite damp

  • yeah, but I was only annoyed over the Fickle Disco Bitch scenario. I am sure Aids is realy a good bloke. So it must have been the one before me, the skinny one with the glasses, ha ha.

  • which one of Ginas x boyfriends was this. Might have been me at her mums house. But I think it was the one before me, lol.

  • Ha Ha really???

  • Although I really do like the music.. I really do... but this is art... this was the first "record" that brought this home... this is art... and long may it live.

  • Had many of these weekends.. quality tune. Failte gu Alba!!

  • Had this weekend, almost perfect.

  • this is their best tune for me.
