  • it could has less voices...

  • Such an excellent track!

Also, @ 3.09, what is she sitting on?

  • real hip hop

  • he looks like he's reading the words off cue cards

  • Man I love this!!!!

  • ahhh thee good ol MTV channell before they decided to put all these stupid so called "reality shows" on, like jersey whores lmao

Dont stop till the sweet beat drops" groovy baby... =D

  • jazz, funk, hiphop............absolute genius.

  • White Ford Bronco's 90s Song of the Day 10/21/10

  • "But nevertheless you got to get down

Finesse the freak, through the beat so unique"

    It's hip-hop with a dictionary! Fantastic!

  • I was into alternative at the time this came out...and I SOOOOO loved this song!!! I think everyone liked this.

  • our parents said the thing back then that we are all saying now....funnny huh.

  • Man... Hip Hop had so much potential back in the day, and more modern artists had to turn it into cliché pop garbage. Such a shame...

  • Que bueno............a bailarrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • not a hip hop fan at heart. But this song is great ;)

  • This is one smooth tune.

  • OMG Cantoloop <3

    Thumbs up if u agree

  • Love it! Funky!

  • beat poetry-- this is artistry in action, melting Jazz in makes this a very enjoyble sound. The tripple tounge on the trumpet rocks.

  • Wicked!

  • La base de la base!!!

  • ouh yeah² xXx LiLPikeyxXx i'ld suck your dick if i coul'd

  • this was the beat back in the day. Wish there was more like it today.. With trumpets, sax with hip hop

  • A friend of mine introduced me to this song in the mid to late 90's. I kicked ass then and it still kicks ass today.

  • I like Gary Coleman's voice intro.

  • @firstvegantreats It's not Coleman. It's Pee Wee Marquette from Art Blakey's Night at the Birdland Vol. 1.

  • biddie biddie bop...biddie biddie bop!

  • BEETLEJUICE

  • This song is the pimpest of the pimpest!!!!

  • The "dip trip" part of "dip trip, flip fantasia" sounds like a drug reference, lol

  • sounds like money b from dig underground

  • Man this takes me way back... I remember being like 6 years old listening to this in my dad's car on the way to school, it was on some Starbuck's BlueNote compilation cd and I thought it was the shit. I'm 22 now and its funny how just a song can time travel you back to a simpler time. My dad doesn't like rap at all either, he's a jazz guy, so this song has to rule if he listened to it.

  • Back when MTV was worth watching...

  • @OotHEWoW amen to that!!!

  • this is what music is all about.. just feel happy and dance!

  • These guys have soul :)

  • i found this song yesterday after more than 15 years... Used to listen this with my mother on an old mixtape everyday going to pre-school! We lost the mixtape and could never remember the song name! Today when I showed her she couldn't stop crying... Sweet memories! Thanks for the up btw! ;)

  • my brother love that song RIP love you bro :-)

  • @SuperFear27 He Died? Ohh my gosh, how? I still got this whole album on Audio Cassette tape and still bumpin it.

  • "but nevertheless, you gotsta get down" lol "funky, funky" haha!!! good times....

  • pumkin pumkin

  • this is probably the only hip- hop i will listen too. even so, this is freaking awesome!

  • Groovy groovy jazzy funnky!!!

    Flip fantasya!!!!

  • awww man. takes me back. in 1993 i was beginning kindergarten. Few 90s songs can make me remember when times were good, and simple. This was when hip-hop was at its best. Guru and US3 are the best when it comes to Jazz+Hip-Hop.

  • @skinnyJEANking2 You were beginning kindergarten? That was my Senior Year of high school! And yes, this was back when hip-hop was still good. I can't stand today's hip-hop music!

  • @mackbee628 Yeah I was. I'm a (late) 80s baby. But growing up in the 90s was the best. Hands down the best time to be a kid. Today's mainstream hip-hop is just horrible. But the underground side, seems to be alright by me. But nothing will compare to 90s hip-hop.

  • @skinnyJEANking2 " Hands down the best time to be a kid." you're speaking from a somewhat limited perspective there son ;-)

  • cos wspanialego

  • looove this song Linda Evangelista is in it fir a few seconds towards the end I use to love her back when super models were SUPER MODELS when Versace was alive just Gorgeaous super models back in the early 90's!!!!

  • 3:07 a spectacular wtf moment.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm 15 and I was raised on this sort of hip-hop before I even started kindergarten. I can appreciate the some of the new stuff people play but I KNOW what the real shit is at. There isn't a day that goes by, where I don't feel sorry for my fellow peer's ignorance to the truely good music out there. Screw Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, and all those other people that make sad excuses for pop, and Screw all those rappers who only talk about how getto they're and how much ice n' bitches they got. Amen

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx

Brand Nubian, Pharcyde, Black Sheep, and the forever great Mos Def (including Black Starr). Keep it real, sir. This coming from an old Jewish brother.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx AMEN TO THAT BROTHA!

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx The Roots give us hope!

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx the good music's still out there today, try looking past the mainstream commercialized bullshit and you'll easily find it. The mainstream music industry always has, and always will be about one thing in the end, and that's money.

The solution to that? look past all the shit mainstream puts out (Admittedly, some of it's not bad) and look toward the underground/unsigned scene; That's where you'll find music that's made for the purpose of music, and not so much money.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx spread the word!!!!!!

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx hahaha, before I finished reading your post I thought of replying with a simiple Amen, but you beat me to it.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx You are so sweet.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx respect.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx amen lil' brotha.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx Agreed. Things is, though, because today's music has fallen so much, everyone I've introduced to Us3 has absolutely loved it. There's enough of the rock-ska thing going around that this album fits perfectly in the times. Unfortunately, Us3 never put out a quality second album.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx Dude, can't be more true, i'm 11 and this IS music. Screw the modern stuff also known as "pop".

    PS: Quad screw Justin Bieber

  • @RSEO1 Wow, 11 and rocking to this music. You're the man, you know that?

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx Thank you, Pikey!

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx Wow!!! 15 years old and he can write... AND... has great taste in music. You're going somewhere kid.

  • @Algonkin1964 I agree.

  • @xXxLiLPikeyxXx true shit rite thur

  • Downtown swag.

  • Even the bands name "US3" is cool.

  • Man it's been years since I have seen this video. A few years ago I saw another version of this video. All I remembered about this video was the color orange , an old man playing a trumpet and the little girl jumping.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen

As you know we have something special for you

    At Birdland this evening

A recording for Blue Note Records

  • This is not rap! It's good music. Something rap is NOT!

  • Hip-hop/jazz still exist, only need to go to a nice record store and look for it

  • ONLY RAP I EVER HAD WAS US 3.

    daMonstah,CEO of daBlogPound,Inc.Family

  • Crosses sooo many neighborhoods.....all the better!!

  • WOW

    These were lovely memories

  • This is the shit that needs to come back!! Hip Hop/Jazz/Blues Fusion!!

  • cool music

  • funky funky

  • Oh, forgot! Anything with that bass progression- always one of the best ever used in any hip music.

  • Fantastic! Nothing like it since!

  • Remember this one! Ha it used to get on my nerves they palyed it sooo much!

  • Dam this is ill.

  • Now this is what I call music. Combining Hip Hop, jazz and making it contemporary new and fresh! Songs today do not compare to this wonderful song. Synthesizer=kill music

  • Jump to the jam boogie woogie jam slam ! Bust the dialect, I'm the man in command !

  • best rymer eva!!!

  • Neat

  • Good days with TRUE hi hop... Nowadays it has only stuped rhymes which talk about sex, girls and money.

    90's musics were THE musics!

  • i wish hip hop would of went more in this direction at the time than the eminem and snoop doggy dogg puke ass bullshit.

  • @outofnames0 Hip Hop is as much eminem as rock is my chemical romance. You can't brand the entire genre wrongly because you've only experienced a little of it. Check out the Roots, they're the cutting edge of hip hop these days.

  • @domoarigato3000 "Cutting edge" in the sense they've been around for 23 years.

  • @DrWhiggs That comment was so stupid it barely deserves a response.

  • @domoarigato3000 Oh, boo-hoo, learn to take a joke.

  • @outofnames0 Amen!!!!! you are so right. Also I would love to beat the shit out of Eminem. I hate his punk-ass smirk. At least Snoop has a vibe.

  • @outofnames0 snoop is the man...eminem can go suck a nut

  • @outofnames0 That wish of yours is like telling an independent minded woman to do something that will make her appear better in your eyes but not so in hers, that's hip hop. Consider Dizzy & Bird, if they had bend to the desire of all those critics that wanted Jazz not to evolve beyond Louie Armstrong and the New Orleans sound, Bee Bop wouldn't have evolved & gone in it's own direction & you might not have had the sound that you like behind this music including the voice of Pee wee Marquette.

  • @outofnames0 Man if you think Snoop Dogg and Eminem sucks how is your take on all the BS like Soulja Boy and T. Pain? I mean Eminem may be violent and a bit crazy but he can RAP, all that auto-tune is what is disgraceful.

  • @InterpolFL wooord to that, i'm really not into Em and Snoop but I agree, but yo guys, hiphop is so alive and well, u just gotta dig a lil more.

  • @outofnames0 Old snoop is good

  • @sk82live87 I don't really like his music, but Snoop Dogg is the coolest human being alive!

  • The sad thing is I only found this song when I was going through my marykate and ashley movies....

  • @shi49 Man "It Takes Two" was that movie. lol. I totally remember the first time I heard this was when I was watching that movie and she was bowling with the stuffed animals. lol.

  • @margo406 Thanx for posting this video! I so remember hearing this when I was on a carnival ride at a fair in Springfield,Massachusetts. The ride was the swings. What was really neat was when my feet were lifted up off the base of the swing ride. :))))

    @LittleItalianGal33

  • I can play Cantaloupe Island on French Horn :D

  • The beat, the horns and the spoken word. Genius! Love this song and have for years. Thanks for posting this.

  • I had heard this one year when I was on a carnival ride at the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield,Massachusetts. I was in line for the swings. Cantaloop came on while I was sitting in the chair waiting for the ride to start. :)))) What was really cool was when my feet were lifted up off the ground. :P

When are you going to hear inevitably in a song now?

  • @fertonon Holy shit he really said that?

  • @fertonon músicas do anos 90 são as melhores as de hoje sei chega perto!
