Lots of thump equals no vacuum, i had idle at 1200 at one point and still had brake issues! you could run an electric vacuum pump.. I dont even have this truck anymore, put it back to stock and sold it :(
I HAVE A 5.3 vortex in my 2001 Yukon what do you mean that at idle no vacuum for your brakes? what was your idle at around 900? that should produce enough right orr can you get it somewhere else? So when you switched out the cam what about the rest of the engine, i.e. heads? rocker arms, etc.... wanna sell the cam?

CA smog will be tough. I have heard that the comp xr 265 will pass. It has a pretty mellow idle though. I have ran the 265 and it was my favorite. Research the forums and there is a ton of info.
Im in Bakersfield. Cam is out now. The rockers did not play an issue rather the LSA on the cam. I would not go any lower than a 112 LSA. I still had brake lights issues with a 112 but not the 114. Although the lower the the LSA the choppier the idle!
Hey where in Cali are you from around? If you ever get in the Murrieta area, I know a really good performance shop that specializes in LSX tuning/performance/ect...I am trying to decide on a cam for my 08 Silverado. Do you think the 1.8 rockers were too much for your vacuum issue?

@EASI24 your brakes run off of vacuum suction that is produced from the engine. so when you have a big cam you may have problems building suction ideling.

i have the same cam with a 7194 diablosport.. it runs worst than stock... im runing soo lean air fuel ratio... i have CAM SENSOR code, 1 bank lean code, and random misfiring! HEEELP .. how are you doing with yours!
Mine runs great! did you have to get the cam gear from the vette? did it have the 4 humps on it? the first gear i bought only had 2 humps and it ran like crap! The cam sensor runs off those humps.

i drive a 94 GMC k1500 and cant find shit for cams. i got a mild cam throu edelbroke along with heads and intake manifold with C.A.R.B/E,O numbers.

A more proven cam like a TSP224 on a 112lsa would sound almost as mean with alot more vaccum at idle.

Idle was very bad! I loved the sound but that cam cam produced no vacuum at idle and no vacuum means no brakes!! I got kids, i need brakes!

i have stock converter.. i modified the stock sprocket to make it fit! with the three bolt pattern.. im from venezuela we dont have ls2 - ls7s here!
its runs slow between 0 to 2300 rpm .. worst than stock reaction

I love the sound and the power!! I am only running hand -held programmer with plans to get more tuning later.
I have 2 issues:
You need Cam gear of 06 Vette to install in 07 and up!
2: Very low Vaccum at idle, throwing codes, i am working with Comp to fix problem. Other than that, its fast as hell and does great donuts!!
