JWs do recommend professional help. I have been in 5 different congregtions in the past 25 years, and they all do. All of the literature points to getting help if needed. No one could have known he was going to kill himself after serious wrong doing. It is a tragedy. It does not mean that Jehovah's Witnesses are not following the bible. Each person is responsible for their own behavior. Roman's 14:12,"each of us will render an account...to God." This family shouldn't take it out on JW's.
Disfellowshipped means they committed a serious sin. In 1 Corinthians 5:13 it says, "..remove the wicked (man) from among yourselves."

Look, I know an insensitive elder is one thing, and I can pass over that. But honestly when the whole congregation made sure that they were miserable the remaining years they were there. Now that shows that the elder felt no repentance after the son committed suicide. The congregation didn't care at all and the family just cut them off, I don't agree with that at all. I mean, I just can't shake all of that, that's heart breaking.
My son was a teenager when a married witness started showing too much interest in him. Spending hours with him alone. I spoke to my son then I went to the sister's home and spoke to her husband who was an elder. She left my son alone after that but that elder and his wife did there best to make my life and lives of my family misable the remaining years I was at that congregation. We don't want to think bad things about friends but witnesses are great at keeping secrets.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My son was killed fifteen years ago in a car accident. The pain is something that never really goes away, you just put in the back of you mind as you try to exist. We seldom look at old pictures because it just makes me ack. I'm sorry your family had deal with men that have problems showing compassion in circumstances less than perfect. No matter what social trauma happened to anyone, the underlying answer was "wait for armageddon, and then everything will be all right". If someone was being beaten and molested, the fact was marginalized. I think I know what you are getting at, the "big solution" might be OK for then but sometimes serious stuff needs dealing with in the here and now - that may be medical, judicial, psychological. They change their policy about the pyramids being gods omen, the cross in the crown was still on watchtowers until 1972. If a family is very functional and well coordinated, they can cope with noise and smell, oopses and spills and giving way in a hurry. It takes teamwork and a lot of understanding. Always compromises and devotion. It is not impossible. However, if you bring the same white elephant into a home of a broken family with alcoholism, molestation and strife already present. - I think you get the picture.

JWs do recommend professional help. I have been in 5 different congregtions in the past 25 years, and they all do. All of the literature points to getting help if needed. No one could have known he was going to kill himself after serious wrong doing. It is a tragedy. It does not mean that Jehovah's Witnesses are not following the bible. Each person is responsible for their own behavior. Roman's 14:12,"each of us will render an account...to God." This family shouldn't take it out on JW's.

Disfellowshipped means they committed a serious sin. In 1 Corinthians 5:13 it says, "..remove the wicked (man) from among yourselves."
We ADHERE to the bible as God's authority. READ 2 Timothy 3:16,17, "..teaching, reproving, setting things straight.." When a person repents, and lives by bible teachings again, he can then be reinstated into the congregation. A person can attend, but not participate as before. We follow Jesus. Matt. 28:19,20. I spoke to my son then I went to the sister's home and spoke to her husband who was an elder. She left my son alone after that but that elder and his wife did there best to make my life and lives of my family misable the remaining years I was at that congregation. We don't want to think bad things about friends but witnesses are great at keeping secrets.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My son was killed fifteen years ago in a car accident. The pain is something that never really goes away, you just put in the back of you mind as you try to exist. We seldom look at old pictures because it just makes me ack. I'm sorry your family had deal with men that have problems showing compassion in circumstances less than perfect. I had to deal with elders also. I still love my boy. I will always miss him. What more can I say?

I went through the process. Elders Mc enernie, Florez, and two others were in a room and did not listen to anything I said. They told me that they already heard everything form my dad. I told them that he was in the habit of grabbing the penis and then striking to the face, they just ignored everything. They said I was not obedient to my father, When I walked out of the room my dad went in and I kept hearing uproarious laughter. This is how the Jehovahs Witnesses operate.

No, that is your experience on that occasion, and if it is exactly as you say, it is clearly wrong. JWs believe God expects special efforts from elders and holds them responsible for how they treat his congregations. If they are wicked men (and I don't know, how can I?) JWs quote Revelation that says those that make sheep stumble (you?) would have a millstone put round their necks and be cast away - i.e depicts destroyed. That means individually have no reward, pray in vain

No matter what social trauma happened to anyone, the underlying answer was "wait for armageddon, and then everything will be all right". If someone was being beaten and molested, the fact was marginalized. Now I realize that any individual, group or organization can become callus and indolent when continuously told that a grand panacea is about to transpire. The mindset has a stupefying narcotic effect on common reason.

I think I know what you are getting at, the "big solution" might be OK for then but sometimes serious stuff needs dealing with in the here and now - that may be medical, judicial, psychological. A friend of mine was abused by his neighbour when we were kids and he needed proper help with his brain cos he was a mess for years, Just telling him "God will sort it out" was if you like the over arching answer, not meaning don't do anything else to address the pain

Don't they all sacrifice someone for someone else? I have a level of agreement with that, which is why I think the teachings and example of Jesus are so powerful - i.e. they are contrary to those very things you highlight that humans do so well, such as preying on the weak, prejudice, bias, viewing some as great through wealth and power, viewing some as inferior due to disadvantage, social status, education etc etc etc. There is no excuse in the congregation, only responsibility. You (WE) have a right to justice.

They change their policy about the pyramids being gods omen, the cross in the crown was still on watchtowers until 1972. A core of owners are served with biased religion where the majority would be "faithful slaves" who were required to recruit more "slaves" for a self-elected "master" class called "the anointed"!

If a family is very functional and well coordinated, they can cope with noise and smell, oopses and spills and giving way in a hurry. It takes teamwork and a lot of understanding. Always compromises and devotion. It is not impossible. However, if you bring the same white elephant into a home of a broken family with alcoholism, molestation and strife already present. - I think you get the picture.

Yes that is a powerful point you make; in a stressed situation, any other factor even if small can be a tipping point and JW impacts are, or, should be, the size of an elephant. The difference is that it should not be like taking on an untrained beast, rather, an education that teaches, enhances, improves. That would need application, or it is a house of cards built on hypocrisy and will fall. i.e., the mess was before the elephant and shooting it changes little. Regards.

sorry if I misunderstand you,but if there is one thing I know through my experience, it is that no one is equipped or authorized to judge other people but everyone thinks they are an expert and have a right to. That includes JWs lookng down on people./ They shouldn't. Gods law may state this or that, and all we have is the the obligation to follow it, not judge others for what we perceive as wickedness. Afterall,it might be weakness. King David deserved death by law, but was spared.

Assume that something is the case on the basis of evidence or probability but without proof or certain knowledge. (dict.com) the point I`m making is that the presumption was not kept to the g body that assumed it, but was filtered down to the JWs.....it must have been thought to be imminent because I know a family of JWs that stored food for the purpose to survive the end of the system.

If Billy was honest and truly sorry for what he would have done he would not only have clean concious, but still be alive today. A young man in Bridgeport, Connecticut was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall; he got sex with his cousin who was handicapped at home. She got pregnant through him, the young man was devastated, hanged himself in a closet. He left a note saying that he was uncomfortable to face the elders. Jehovah must be the Judge of everyone, you should not let anyone judge you for your mistakes. No one is perfect.

My uncle died today, he stopped being a Jehova Witness a long time ago, his sister (my aunt) stopped talking to him a long time ago, now that he is dead, she regretted it but It´s too late. when you stopped attending meetings or your "friends" stopped talking to you.

Also, out of all the MILLIONS of dollars that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society makes, how much of it is used to help those in need? Oh wait, it's used to continue the preaching work around the world. Isn't that voluntary? Hmmm!
