With most cosplay you do see the bad and yes fat is usually listed as bad, with a few guide lines any cosplayer can have a great costume, 1 plan and assemble not for a week but for a whole year, 2 go with your strengths ie spandex or tight fitting clothing is not for everyone (even for thin people), 3 CARDBOARD DOES NOT MAKE SEMI BAD ARMOR IT IS BAD IN GENERAL and that goes double for ALFOIL and 4 Do your best no one can ask for more

i think if someones going to cosplay.. be the proper weight. also, it helps to kinda look like the character your cosplaying as. (and have good hair or wigs.) if your overweight.. cosplay as an over weight characters.

They do. Well, most of the time anyways. But that's because most of the one you see on pictures had they're costumes made by proffesionals and they're pictures were taken by proffesional photographers.

Anyone can do it. It doesn't require any talent. You just need to have at least some of the similar facial features. Its not hard at all. Anyone can cosplay like a pro with some make up to cover shit up like acne or freckles,etc,but its also important to at least already somewhat look like the character they are trying to copy.

Sometimes its not just about how well a random person can dress up. Base looks are important as well. They have to already share some of the characteristic similarities to begin with.
Such as Race,Obesity,Anorexia,skin tone,hair(if not a wig),height and posture.
Some of them looked pretty good though. Like quistis was great and Rinoa was perfect.
Tifa was mehhh.. Not horrible,but not good either. Just barely passable. Yuna and Rikku were excellent. Zell awesome except for the hair.

They do. Well, most of the time anyways. But that's because most of the one you see on pictures had they're costumes made by proffesionals and they're pictures were taken by proffesional photographers.

It's a good vid but,I have to say is that cosplaying as a Character doesn't mean u have to look Good & Perfect just to be that character. everyone in this vid that u posted was "bad" is because,they look fat or there outfit dont look like the Character. Nobody has to look like the Character, as long as the person who is Cosplaying is doind what they like and it's sad to hear an see the people who are not good looking is out as "Bad"or"Craapy"

The second one is no Final Fantasy character. I think you must know and see it as a Final Fantasy Fan! As I say: Good Video.

I feel sorry for some of the people. Just because they are overweight, people have put them in the Crap Cosplayer category...
Maybe they arent the best, but at least they tried, the whole point of cosplay is to have fun and be in one of the characters shoes, having fun...

exactly what I was going to say! True, some seemed like it was half-hearted, but a few of them were only on the 'worst' list because of their weight, from what I could tell. The art of Cosplay is something more than showing off your toned body. This is the negativity I have to fight against to get my friends to cosplay. Some people just don't get it...

Aren't some of these people, the "good", actually professional cosplayers from Japan. It kinda mean to compare the avg. cosplayer to them, also just because someone is plus size doesn't mean it is bad cosplay. I believe sloppy cosplay would be a better title than bad. Also the last chocobo is quite amusing and shouldn't be deemed bad.

I agree. Some of the "bad" cosplayers were even actually better then the "Good" cosplayers.
Take Ward for example. From Final fantasy 8. The big guy with the white T-Shirt and the spear.
Last time i checked ward didn't go on a diet and he wasn't suffering from anorexia.
The Topic Posters "good" ward was WAY worse then the "bad" ward. There was about 2 or three more that i thought the "bad" was actually better then the "good",but im to lazy to go back and check. lol

hmmm I think that the bad cosplayers dont have enough passion as the better looking cosplayers. Its like they just randomly created their costume in a week, even though making your own costume can take months.

Anyone can do it. It doesn't require any talent. You just need to have at least some of the similar facial features. Its not hard at all. Anyone can cosplay like a pro with some make up to cover shit up like acne or freckles,etc,but its also important to at least already somewhat look like the character they are trying to copy.
If they are a 300 pound rinoa or a black cloud or an asian squall or a skinny ward just like in this video. They are just setting themselves up to look stupid.

Also, to further clarify i don't have the time to cosplay,but if i did have the time to do it i might consider it and yes i would be good at it because i would only dress as a character that i fit the part for or can make a close cosplay out of because thats the point in doing it. The point is to copy yourself to looking like another character. If people can't do that properly then it just looks stupid and seems like a childs convention.

Sometimes its not just about how well a random person can dress up. Base looks are important as well. They have to already share some of the characteristic similarities to begin with.
Such as Race,Obesity,Anorexia,skin tone,hair(if not a wig),height and posture.
Some of them looked pretty good though. Like quistis was great and Rinoa was perfect.
Tifa was mehhh.. Not horrible,but not good either. Just barely passable. Yuna and Rikku were excellent. Zell awesome except for the hair.

Ultimacia,Laguna and Squall all looked horrible. Laguna is suppose to look white. Dude was asian. Ultimacia "best" looked like she was on crack. Squall "best" also asian,coat had fake fluff,gunblade fake.
