I'm not even a huge Chillis fan but totally acknowledge that this guy is a guitar great he emerged when on one hand guitar playing was becoming a meaningless parade of party tricks ('shredding') only to then become a dreary parade of fuzzed-up power chords in grunge and pop punk. His often clean melodic, emotional and rythymically inventive guitar playing was a sound that really stood out in the sometimes turgid world of 'rawk music' during the 90s and 2000s.
