After watching them make Dr No in Jamaica Fleming changed his mind about Connery and made Bond half-Sottish to match.
But, if Fleming was around now he'd say Dalton was the best Bond. He wore Bond's clothes better than anybody else, when he got angry, he got murderously angry (just watch his reaction to Saunders' death), when he was doing his job he got stone cold and when he got with a woman, he got to the woman.
Sean Connery WAS James Bond. He had the perfect mix of sex appeal, wit, violence, charm and wry humor. I've seen Daniel Craig in other things, and he was brilliant. However, his portrayal as Bond stinks. He's a wooden as Roger Moore! Lazenby had a few good moments. Brosnan's performance was workmanlike. Dalton was also too wooden. BTW... Ian Fleming wanted Cary Grant or David Niven to play Bond. In the books, Bond was a sophisticated Gentleman.
Great video recording! Need to make as much as 570 Dollar day every day? About Twenty Six Hundred happy individual users will be applying this process presently! Go to roulettecash == or)
Connery wasn't in Casino Royale- when the movie series started, Albert Broccoli couldn't secure the rights in time, then it was made into a spy spoof with David Niven, Peter Sellers, and Woody Allen (and the producers didn't want another serious version to follow so shortly), so they did Dr. No instead. Oh, and I disagree- I think Craig is an excellent Bond- more rough around the edges the way the character was written, but Connery will always be my favorite.
I would love to see this movie....wish Sean had done a casino royale....one thats more like the book... with out bond chasing a bomb maker or going to the bahamas so he could stop a plane from exploding
@TheMrBondJamesBond Or the senseless killing of blacks just because it draws an audience.
The original novel was very low key, just like Dr No. When the producers of Casino Royale tried (unnecessarily) to reinvent the franchise, they immediately set the wrong tone by padding the film too much with unneeded digressions.
They should have kept Sean Connery on for On Her Majesties Secret Service, and then go on to use him for the 4 other Fleming novels before ending the series.
Just wasn't thinking right. When I said they I meant Sean Connery. I know all about it and the 1 million pay check for DAF etc. The point that should be taken from my comment was that it would have been awesome if Connery stayed as James Bond.
Well, it;s difficult to say. Nowadays Craig fits best to the role- he hurts and he is being hurt. I appreciate Connery (he is the most similar to the Bond created in the books by Fleming), I like Moore also- his Bond is funny and very British. But let's say that Craig is the best. And what about You?
...I'm a Connery fan 100 percent! : ) ... And I'm a George Lazenby fan as well. I think On Her Majesty's S.S. is a classic..Roger Moore, I think was best in his debut Live and Let Die. Not crazy about Tim Dalton or Pierce Brosnan. Daniel Craig has potential but they really need to write an extremely great story; a compelling and believable one, for his next Bond film... I think the Bond franchise is in a bit of
trouble...let's hope the next Bond is much better than Quantum!
I hope so:) Lazenby... well, I like ,,OHMSS" but... he got married there;) About Craig: for me ,,Casino Royale" is the best of the Bond films and Quantum of Solace... well, it's one of the worst. I'm looking forward the 23rd Bond;)!
For me he fits the best to this role- his Bond hurts and is being hurt. He's more like a human than a superman who destroys Moscow with T 72 and just walks away...
Live and Let Die, The Man With Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only. Were suposed to be Moore's only James Bond Movies. However, after Moore had announced his retirement from the role. Connery announced his return in the Thunderball remake, Never Say Never Again. Cubby did not want a new face to go up against Connery and he wanted to beat Connery at the box office. So, they gave Moore alot of money to return and an option for another film, A View to a Kill.
Moore's legacy was hurt by his return to the role because he did grow to old for the part. Another factor that hurt Moore,s legacey was the decision to do ''Moonraker" a ''Spy Who Loved Me'' remake set in space. Because of the success of TSWLM at the box office and films such as "The Empire Strikes Back'' Producer decided to for go the making of ''For Your Eyes Only'' the film that originally was suposed to follow TSWLM In favour of ''Moonraker'' Of course people love to bash Moore for Moonraker
Had the producers stayed with the original film order and had Moore stuck to his guns and retired after 5 pictures, His 5th picture should have been Octopussy, or if Connery had not announced his return in the Thunderball remake. Never Say Never Again. Moore's legacy would have been solid. Live and Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy. Would have compared Nicely with Connery's movies.
to me the best one is sean connery , second is roger moore , and third pierce brosnan , george lazenby was pretty young , but is cool , daniel craig did it quit well ,but he doesnt have my apreciation

Craig's a great modern Bond. He simply doesn't have the air or sophisticated mystique of Sean Connery! Is he the new era Bond? Absolutely, a fine actor. But without the Charm that made Connery so deadly as the first Bond!
When Sean said, "Bond....James Bond" you believed it. Beyond a shadow of a doubt! He was plenty fit enough to actually be the part as well!
For Craig, the saving grace is his physicality and Scripting (not by Fleming) is near flawless. Where charm isn't a Bond feature!

4.Timothy Dalton - Brought a fresh take to Bond adding both dimensions and humanity to the character. He is next to Craig as the most realistic Bond.
5.George Lazenby - Even though he was impersonating Connery for the most part, he managed to fill in some very big shoes.
6.Roger Moore - brought his own unique sense of humor to the role. But played Bond almost like a spoof or satire. The farthest from Flemming's Bond out of all of them.
if only sean connery were born like 50 years later than when his real birthday. he would be the best action hero ever seen with the way movies are these days
If only! Connery puts all the rest to shame. Though Brosnan was solid (especially in Goldeneye). Here's hoping for a return to the suave, debonair Bond of yesteryear!!

Yes, but Craig looks like he is braindead and comes from the 'hood. His James Bond is much closer to Vin Diesel than he is to Fleming's Bond.
Sure, I guess they are trying to stay with the times, but James Bond is a character of the 60s, after all - and I'd rather they kept him that way.
