If a massacre is going on outside and you know the revival is inside, why don't you step inside? If God were to take away our free will and make everyone do the right thing, that wouldn't be a loving God. That would be a controlling and selfish god.
I recently took a homeless family to a church which boasts a "food pantry for the poor".
The church refused to get involved, the pastor saying "With our meager funds we prefer to help those we have an established relationship with, not strangers from the streets."
Thanks for the video. It sums up the problem of pretending there is a god, while extending tax free status to hypocritical cults very nicely.
@kaneweb The thing about that is that the church only has a limited resource. They can't just give it out to everyone. Otherwise they become a runaway government like our congress and bankrupt themselves.
@PhillipHammond - I'll tell you what I told the pastor of the church in question:
"Your church's priorities are clearly listed on the front page of the church web site, which lists salaried job openings for 'recreation director' and other paid entertainment positions at the church."
The simple truth, PH, is that Christianity now bears little resemblance to Christ.
People are obsessed with material poverty. There is a much greater poverty of the human spirit. Sometimes - those who have very little in terms of material wealth have much more in terms of knowing God. The reality of God.
God gave us the art of decision. That is a given. People choose to do things; there are consequences. However, some people are born into situations that they did not ask for, and that is the battle that one must fight to overcome. just as God can bless you, the devil can curse you. and we alloe that thru establishing our life based on secularism and having to prove we're in control of our own lives. where does that leave us? destroyed. and others also have to pay the price for our mistakes.
God made everything nature, the worlds first cell, physics, math and you know.. everything isent that enough? do you expect him to give us whatever we want? think about what would happen if he did that the world would be destroyed within 2 days
this is actually a dishonest film. Those aspects of religion were placed there by people - not God.
so how is it God at work?
God is much bigger than a sign on the freeway. It's what is in your heart and spirit that counts.

Priorities. It always comes down to priorities.
