@TheXXxMaSteRZxXx - The Varsouviana or Varsouvienne is 3/4 time dance music that is believed to have originated in Poland, and then popularized in France, Germany, as well as the US. Search YouTube for Varsouviana, Varsoviana or Varsouvienne and you'll see lots of examples.
@yanalita - If you consider electronic things to be magical, then yes my accordion is magical. Roland electronic accordions are more sensitive and require less airflow. This makes them easier to play compared to acoustic accordions. The model (FR-7) in this video is full size and can play 16 measures per bellows stroke. Smaller models contain less air and must be pushed in and out more. In my most recent videos I use a small FR-1, which can barely do 8 measures per stroke.
@josiebananos Thank you. I like the Roland electronic accordion much better than my previous Hohner for a variety of reasons. It makes recording a lot easier, and I can practice privately at 3:00 AM without waking the family.
Great tune! Marvelous sound! I remember this tune from childhood - "put your little foot, put your little foot, put your little foot right out!" and so on . . . must have been as far back as kindergarten! Thanks for rekindling memories for me!
Thank you Teresa for your accurate observations. Using the 1st finger (thumb) on black keys is often comfortable and natural. Many say don't do it, especially piano teachers. But even the great pianist Chopin who taught never to use the thumb used it regularly in performances. Using the thumb is often convenient, especially on the accordion where the keyboard is vertically oriented. I see many top accordionists on YouTube doing it and I conclude that it is OK for me to do so.
Nicely done my friend...you have definitely improved immensely....you are becoming more comfortable with the Roland and seem to be enjoying your playing more....Thanks for the video. Bob
Thank you Bob. The Roland is turning out to be the best investment I have made so far. The bellows are a lot less challenging than my Hohner. Lately I've been busy and had less time to practice, but I hope to be more regular soon.
You're more and more at home on the accordion, even with some tricky fingering & dynamic changes. This my favorite so far--it brings back memories of my high school days when I played this for dances--week after week after week! I'm really dating myself, but people still like to hear it today.
Thank you Leon. It turns out to be lot's of fun for family and friends. It makes everyone want to dance. This makes sense since it represents the dance called "Varsouvienne". I have a link in my favorites.
Thank you Melinda for taking the time from your busy schedule to comment on my work. When you have a break from your academic work, perhaps we will see some more videos of you? I hope so.
Very well played, Leon! I always look forward to visiting your channel. I have our wii connected to the internet so now I practice in front of our big tv and used your channel as my guide.
Merci André pour vos aimables paroles d'approbation. Comme vous pouvez le voir, je ne fais que suivre certains livres de cours. Je suis heureux de vous remarqué mes progrès.
I hope you will understand that I am not being picky when i mention these details, but I know how you strive to play the pieces exactly as written, and I can tell by the way you play that you are doing just that and i feel it should be recognised, because it is NOT AT ALL easy to play these musical "scholarly" pieces as required BECAUSE of the rather unusual mix of techniques required, when the urge to play it a little more freely is hard to control.
I'm very glad that you comment on such minute details. It lets others know that these simple pieces are really part of a progressive course and they do contain a mix of technical requirements that build basic skill at the beginner level. I applaud your ability to notice these things. As you so eloquently put it, since we all know these pieces, the urge to play them freely is difficult to control, but of course doing so defeats the purpose of the lesson.
Gracias Marieli. Como puedes ver estoy siguiendo algunos libros de lección. Cada lección es un pequeño paso adelante. Le agradezco su aprobación de mi ritmo.
Wow Leon this is excellent sound you have tweeked and tweeked until you are now chirping. What a great demo for the people learning this tune. Excellently done my friend Excellent.
I hear the difference in the balance and not one over powers the other. This was great. That accordion has a wonderful sound. It is as if you were in my living room. Fantastic.
I'm glad you notice my efforts tweaking the recoding setup. I think I've got everything determined correctly. Now all I need is your talent for orchestration to make sure I use the correct voices.

you have some magical accordion that does not require you to move the bellows much! mine seems to need much more effort?

Very elegant performance. And it calls to dance! :)
Especially I appreciate the articulation, it was perfect and made the melody lithe. Great job.
I was a little surprised though about the 1st finger on F# - is it comfortable?
