  • i like it

  • @CFapple - Thanks.

  • I want to be my grandfather:))

  • @oliverT1310 - Thank you my dear friend. If you were my grandchild I would let you play my accordion all you want.

  • I NEED TO LEARN THIS FOR MY IB CREATIVE ORAL PRESENTATION!! does anybody know the chords

  • from which country is this tune/composition? plz tell

  • @TheXXxMaSteRZxXx - The Varsouviana or Varsouvienne is 3/4 time dance music that is believed to have originated in Poland, and then popularized in France, Germany, as well as the US. Search YouTube for Varsouviana, Varsoviana or Varsouvienne and you'll see lots of examples.

  • @myaccordionhistory Allright thanks alot. I wanted to find out after reading A Streetcar Named Desire. Sub for answering me :)

  • you have some magical accordion that does not require you to move the bellows much! mine seems to need much more effort?

  • @yanalita - If you consider electronic things to be magical, then yes my accordion is magical. Roland electronic accordions are more sensitive and require less airflow. This makes them easier to play compared to acoustic accordions. The model (FR-7) in this video is full size and can play 16 measures per bellows stroke. Smaller models contain less air and must be pushed in and out more. In my most recent videos I use a small FR-1, which can barely do 8 measures per stroke.

  • @myaccordionhistory - gah! I'm not sure mine can even do 8. or I can't do it yet anyway! Keep up the great work. I really enjoy your videos!

  • Good for you, that has always been a standard song at weddings! giovanni

  • Thumbs up if A Streetcar Named Desire brought you here!

  • I also came back to listen to this one.....I think you have come a long way since the beginning of the new Accordion. Great job.

    Ron!

  • @Rhawneld57 - Thanks Ron for your support. I'm happy to hear that you see some progress.

    Leon

  • Very well done Leon! How do you like the electronic as opposed to your Hohner?

    Cheers and thanks for posting!

    Canada

  • @josiebananos Thank you. I like the Roland electronic accordion much better than my previous Hohner for a variety of reasons. It makes recording a lot easier, and I can practice privately at 3:00 AM without waking the family.

    Leon

  • Hi, Leon!

Great tune! Marvelous sound! I remember this tune from childhood - "put your little foot, put your little foot, put your little foot right out!" and so on . . . must have been as far back as kindergarten! Thanks for rekindling memories for me!

    Lorna

  • Very elegant performance. And it calls to dance! :)

Especially I appreciate the articulation, it was perfect and made the melody lithe. Great job.

I was a little surprised though about the 1st finger on F# - is it comfortable?

    - Teresa

  • @sabaline

Thank you Teresa for your accurate observations. Using the 1st finger (thumb) on black keys is often comfortable and natural. Many say don't do it, especially piano teachers. But even the great pianist Chopin who taught never to use the thumb used it regularly in performances. Using the thumb is often convenient, especially on the accordion where the keyboard is vertically oriented. I see many top accordionists on YouTube doing it and I conclude that it is OK for me to do so.

  • Excellent really. Job well done played without any complications as usual. Great job Leon

    5/5

    Ron!

  • @Rhawneld57

Thank you again Ron for the support. This is another piece that I want to practice regularly for performance.

  • Nicely done my friend...you have definitely improved immensely....you are becoming more comfortable with the Roland and seem to be enjoying your playing more....Thanks for the video. Bob

  • @bobg357

Thank you Bob. The Roland is turning out to be the best investment I have made so far. The bellows are a lot less challenging than my Hohner. Lately I've been busy and had less time to practice, but I hope to be more regular soon.

  • Leon,

You're more and more at home on the accordion, even with some tricky fingering & dynamic changes. This my favorite so far--it brings back memories of my high school days when I played this for dances--week after week after week! I'm really dating myself, but people still like to hear it today.

    Richard

  • @bakersfieldaccordion

Thank you Richard. This is a very encouraging evaluation. I appreciate it.

  • Ah such a lovely tune Leon. I really would love to see you perform this piece for family and friends. 5***********

    Leon

  • @leonvanbokhorst

Thank you Leon. It turns out to be lot's of fun for family and friends. It makes everyone want to dance. This makes sense since it represents the dance called "Varsouvienne". I have a link in my favorites.

  • Hey Leon! Great job on this one :). Cheerful and, as always, your playing is so precise! 5*

  • @GeminiAccordion

Thank you Melinda for taking the time from your busy schedule to comment on my work. When you have a break from your academic work, perhaps we will see some more videos of you? I hope so.

  • Very well played, Leon! I always look forward to visiting your channel. I have our wii connected to the internet so now I practice in front of our big tv and used your channel as my guide.

  • @ladybirdmama

I'm happy to hear that cyberspace is allowing us to play together.

  • Briliant Leon.

    André

  • @guyotville06

Merci André pour vos aimables paroles d'approbation. Comme vous pouvez le voir, je ne fais que suivre certains livres de cours. Je suis heureux de vous remarqué mes progrès.

  • Short, but very sweet.

Excellent performance showing all the different techniques that have been requested in this piece. Very good dynamics and articulation.

    Mike

  • @Delmontedel

Thank you Mike. I like that you notice all the small details of each piece.

  • I hope you will understand that I am not being picky when i mention these details, but I know how you strive to play the pieces exactly as written, and I can tell by the way you play that you are doing just that and i feel it should be recognised, because it is NOT AT ALL easy to play these musical "scholarly" pieces as required BECAUSE of the rather unusual mix of techniques required, when the urge to play it a little more freely is hard to control.

  • @Delmontedel

I'm very glad that you comment on such minute details. It lets others know that these simple pieces are really part of a progressive course and they do contain a mix of technical requirements that build basic skill at the beginner level. I applaud your ability to notice these things. As you so eloquently put it, since we all know these pieces, the urge to play them freely is difficult to control, but of course doing so defeats the purpose of the lesson.

  • Outstanding, Leon, 5*****+ + +

  • @Bobby1961D

Thanks Bobby for the concouragement. I hope to see some new videos from you soon using that recently acquired PreSonus audio interface unit.

  • Very goood!!!!

    Congratulations.

    Hugo.

  • @musimedic

Thank you Hugo. Your approval means a lot to me.

  • Wow Leon this is excellent sound you have tweeked and tweeked until you are now chirping. What a great demo for the people learning this tune. Excellently done my friend Excellent.

I hear the difference in the balance and not one over powers the other. This was great. That accordion has a wonderful sound. It is as if you were in my living room. Fantastic.

  • @Rhawneld57

I'm glad you notice my efforts tweaking the recoding setup. I think I've got everything determined correctly. Now all I need is your talent for orchestration to make sure I use the correct voices.
