  • Nice

  • looks really nice!!!

  • VERY NICE!

  • did the pond cheat on you?

  • That is smoothly done!

  • Pretty sick could you show some koi inside?

  • iam building mine kinda like that

  • sick

  • great build. i usually hate slideshows but liked this one!

  • thats sick man

  • AWESOME VIDEO! How deep is the actual pond?

  • AWESOME VIDEO! How deep is the actual pond, and did you secure the pavers?

  • genius

  • where did you get the black plastic from

  • I could not think of a better song for this video.

  • really good job is there a filtration system or is it not necessary

  • Oh and the barrel... Genius looks great and how on earth did you make the frog spitter? It's awesome!

  • @schompob I bought a Frog in Ross store and drilled 2 holes from the mouth and from the bottom of the rock and run the clear tube

  • And the jealousy sets in... Nice job!

  • Awesome job..Thanks for sharing..nice music.

  • what is the music

  • @latomasa37 George Michael- Careless whisper

  • Amazing job!

  • Lovely retired person's "hooby" I'll let my hubby see this for sure! lol

  • mine is cheaper though check out my 80$ semi aquarium pond thats including the koi fish and filtration system but nice pond anyways

  • nice music.. reminds me of police academy

  • Nice job!

  • What lovely music is this? What album is it on or should I say from?

  • now all you need are KOI!...

  • Nice job. Here in Arizona I would have to make it deeper in order to accommodate the summer heat, but looking at your plan I don't think that would add to the cost at all. I will give this video a "like" for it's fishy goodness and for the fact that you waited to add the koi! Good job.

  • How's the water filtered

  • How strong is pond liner? I'd like to put one in my solarium but I'm terrified it will leak some day.

  • looks like a coffin

  • wow nice and easy

  • you could have put some inlaid solar lights that reflect into the pond.. like panels or waterproof or floaties.. dont want to upset the fairies..

  • @cloudcally Don't be stupid of course they will outgrow pond, I've had loads of people who have given me their koi because of that exact reason!!!

  • i don't like anything about this pond. plastic looking everywhere, red mulch, its very trailer-park people like

  • @gentrysnavat you are a snob

  • how much for that water pump?

  • very nice but what are you going to do with the area that has dirt. I never thought to make it rectangular thanks for the video and clever with the barrel!

  • calories sorry had to be a grammar nazi.

  • Good Clip! But how do you do water changes ?

What is the pump ? how much is it ?

  • It was looking great till you added that horrible plastic waterfall , the filter tub and hoses - all started to look ugly .....great effort though - cheap at least ;)

  • @scottcornwall1

I think the end result was great!

  • pretty nice and affordable

  • nice vid for sure, but will the wood you laid down under the flat rocks, will that rot?

  • thanks for the idea on hiding the filter...nice pond...

  • Don't forget the dechlorinator :/ that is still needed, right?

  • i have also built a pond in much the same fashion however i made mine the entire lenght of my varandah and used mostly second hand materials. well done

  • this is great...you inspired me to do mine ...i would love to send you pics (email?)....i went from a 180 gal preformed like you and biult a 3ft deep by 6x11 about 1900gals....everyone loves it....thank you so much

  • nice pond will build one like that nice and simple thank you

  • how did you put the corners together

  • hey man two things were di i get the liner and were can i get the song is awesome

  • what did u do to the corners to make it strong ? metal angels ?

  • im planning to do this too thanks for the info!

  • thats a ncie looking pond

  • Very cool :-)

  • very inspirational

  • really nice pond with less than 300 bucks. i cant even build 1 myslf with that kind of money

  • Very nice.

  • Is there a way to build the pond without the plastic liner? Maybe using some kind of water tight concrete like a pool?

  • Nice pond.................for goldfish. Its far too small for koi. Koi need to be able to swim up and down as well as side to side. It should be at least 5 feet deep for koi.

No mention of a filter (Although in the video its called an external pump, which it isn't)

NEVER use carpet as an underlay, it rots over time.

Nice looking video, but its full of flaws if it's to be instructional.

  • wow !!! careless wisper

  • what website did you get your liner from?

  • nice pond looks great but try and make your own water fall it makes it look more natural.

  • wow nice job

  • Great job looks great

  • So first question: How long did it take you to build?

Second Question: Does this include the cost of the filter?

Third Question: How many gallons is this?

  • I think a little bit bigger wouldn't have hurt much. I would had just left it the plastic and save me the 300 dollar+labor. Nice pond though.

  • do you ever change the water? or do you just get a really good filtration system?

  • nice....

  • This is great, helping me as we're building a goldfish pond for our 5 goldfish.

  • actully i built a 5x6x8 pond under 300$ soo ha

  • this pond is too small!

  • what is this song call?

  • Way better than the old plastic pond. Neat job. The video was well put together too. I like the oak barrel. Nice touch. You should do a video update with your koi fishes and all.

  • Hi,

I think your work has paid you great dividends, a beautiful focal point to any property, well done diude, and by the way I like Areless Whisper, ha ha

  • careless whisper dude..

  • i remember hayden kho with katrina halili ...

  • FYI: Sounds like and instrumental version of Wham's "Careless Whisper"

  • awesome dude!!

  • good job man , its much nicer than what you had before.i may build me one in my florida home. not for the fish, for me to cool off in summer.

  • May you please tell me what is the name of the music?

  • The music might be,CRAZY FEET JUST KEEP

    ON DANCIN'

  • michael jackson

  • This is cool, I might have to make it like that!

  • great idea. i would have never thought to use the bricks. thanks for the great idea!!!

  • That's a cool one. I've never thought of it.

  • im never gonna dance again....lol. cool pond.

  • Has anyone thought of Breeding Fish that can be eaten and Grow them in your back yard ??? The dirty fish water can help "feed "your Garden to grow Tomatoes, etc And the cuttings can feed the fish

  • Not very attractive.

  • you don't make it beauty

  • very nice

  • is this music from benji

  • Looks very nice, but definitely not for koi !!

  • I find this pond way too small to house big koi... I would only put in shubukins and goldfish... Remember that a adult koi is going to be around 80 - 90cm in length at 10 years of age... and they need a lot of room and depth. You need about 6ft of depth and at least 2000 liters or 500 gallons per fish...

  • I know, but If you want to spend more than $300 you can build as big as you want. this pond is for small budget house hold member. Thanks!

  • hey where did you get those water plants from?

  • @yellowkoi2009 He is right this is very cruel if you put koi in there. I wouldn't even put goldfish in there. Just a small wildlife pond, having said that the creatures can't get in or out....

  • @yellowkoi2009 It should be about the fish. If you can't afford to keep em happy you can't afford to keep em.

  • @TomFrankSurfs

    what do they eat?

  • @lavvy2585 They're bottom feeders so algae and fish food should do em right

  • @bjorngroen I hate people like you.

  • @bjorngroen you do not need at least 500 gallons per fish, that would be completely unrealistic, if you have a high enough volume of biofiltration than you can house as many koi as you want, within reason, 500 gallons per fish would be huge, far larger than most can afford, I have seen numerous ponds that were only a out 3 feet deep and 2000 gallons and they fish were perfectly healthy and happy

  • @HITSOMEWALLS i agree, as long as the water is kept clean and the fish can move back and forth there should be no problems i think a koi full grown can happily live in 100 gallons possibly less depending on the koi my friend had a koi in a 10 gallon it grew to 1ft it couldn't move around anymore lol and it didn't die till he put it in his bigger tank(too much room i think).

  • @bjorngroen the fish will not outgrow the pond...the pond will determine how big the fish is. If I put a koi in a 30 gallon it will not grow very big. If I put a koi in a 1000 gallon pond, it will grow as large as 2 feet.

  • Wow!!!!!! Nine.......

  • Awesome video. Planning on building one exactly like yours. How do you care for a koi pond in the winter?

  • you have to get an indoor aq

  • Great video! What did you use to fasten the landscape timbers together?

  • Did you layer a buffer between the soil and the liner? I plan on dumpster diving for old carpet scraps at our local carpet emporium. Also did you recycle your pump? or did you find a good deal. Another idea to save on the liner. If you find a big enough piece you can go halfers on it with another person that wants a decent (yet not overly huge) pond. just thought Id share some info with others that find this vid.

  • I just throw the old carpet down there, to protect the liner! I got my pump at lowes.

  • great job that pond looks amazing

  • the name of the song is 'careless whisper by George Michael'.

  • wheres the water filter?

  • i didnt really liike the idea of bricks till i saw yours

  • please please please remind me of the name of this song

  • 300 bucks!?

Thats impressive! It looks nice. I hope you post a vid of the fish you put in it.

  • the whole thing cost less than 300 ? no way ! what website did u buy the liner from ? n did u make the filter by urself ?

  • That looks pretty good I wish I had enouph room to have an in ground pond. Nice work!!!

  • great vid and ideas ty

  • I love this pond! it's amazing. I would add some more flowers around it, but it looks great. Thank you so much for making this video. You have some great ideas! 5/5!
