  • Just got mine today. I'm using it with a METEORO ATOMIC DRIVE REVERB, 20 watts, and the distortion sounds like crap. Any ideas about it?

  • i have 1 its awsome

  • I've been trying this guitar out for a while and was very surprised at the sounds that come out of it. I will get this guitar next week. Thanks for the review

  • He sped up the video.

  • Can you just slap on Gibson Pick up covers on the stock pickups?

  • @AppleGuitarGuy Yes, but that's difficult. You have to solder them on after filling them with wax. Very pricey and very time consuming.

  • had you changed the pickurds?

  • do you change pickups?

  • @salvoxrx95 i thing he had changed only the covers

  • i have watched many reviews on this guitar and it is the one i will consider to buy,

but tell me one thing, does it stays in tune well?

  • You changed the pick-ups and the tuners

  • cool XD

  • How'd you get those pickups? Mine are hum buckers.

  • @BlameItOnYesterdayTV

He said they are the stock pickups. He just added the pickup covers.

  • Comment removed

  • ale napiernicza :D

  • Nice playing! What's the first chord?

  • What song are u playing?

  • Mine says Gibson where yours says special II. What model is mine?

  • @LyricsArFun its an older version its really the same but with the gibson name. some collectors go after that one because of the name.

  • I am asking this guitar for graduation.

  • AWESOME!!! what kind of pickups bring your guitar?

  • At the end, you shouldve just randomly lifted up your shirt and flash us. That'd be hilarious.

  • @ChrisLikestoPlay ahahaha brilliant thinking! lol

  • thx for the eargasm. :)

  • I love to play me some Iced Earth on this guitar.

  • could you give me some info on those pick-up covers please? thanks

  • He said sorry for the crappy playing.

Fuck I thought this was good.

  • Hey, I'm planning on getting this guitar. And I also love Megadeth. Would it be good for playing their songs? If not, what other cheap guitar is good for Megadeth and thrash metal? Please respond as soon as you can.

  • How you install those pick ups? Mine doesnt have a backing to install pick ups?!?!

  • 0:12 haha it looks like your hand is on vibrate

  • What amp are you using?

  • Fuck dude your good. Was this stock?

  • Is this guitar any good to start off with for metal as a beginner?

    Cool vid btw man :)

  • @CelticSpurs10 yes this is a good guitar for beginners, no matter what style IMO.

  • i bought this guitar, (i don't have it yet), my question is, do I get that sound without need of pedals and all that stuff, just have connected to the amp, or do i need an specific amp? Because i heard that i need pedals for certain kind of sounds, this is my first electric guitar. greetings, good riff :D

  • @thetrutheye I bought this guitar last week and can play everything i.e. from metal to classic. In my opinion I don't need a pedal just change the output of the amplifier :)

  • Love tha coulor

  • g-day mate i recently bought a special 2 and it was mimnt i sent it to one of the guitar guys that professionalt lover the action and do the internation he lower it atthee pickup end and at the tuning end ablosultey easy to play now ive played a real gibson les paul and it is alot harsder to play then my baby.

  • is that p-90 pickups?i have same guitra and want to change my pickups do you recomend me to buy p-90 pickups?when you change your stock pickups sound are diffrent or same

  • @SilentKRock I am using the stock pickups as i have said in a lot of my previous comments. i just added the gold pickups covers by myself.

  • @goatygeek Is this guitar good for an intermediate player? I've been playing for about 4 years. I like rock, blues and some alternative stuff. I'm looking for a guitar with a nice tone and feel. I've got a fender Starcaster and, pardon my french, it sucks shit. I mean, it'll get me from one side of the tab to the other but, not necessarily in the best tone and with the right feel. I'm looking for something that looks good, feels good, sounds good, tastes go-- well, you get the picture.

    Thanks!

  • @SilentKRock I've changed the bridge pick up on mine, I've put the wilkinson that came on the bridge of the Shelter nashville, and it sounds really good :D

  • @SilentKRock dont buy p90 pick ups if u want play metal,p90 are for blues and jazz!dimarzio have p90 soap bar super distortion!im going to buy one soon.i have an epiphone gold top 54! great guitar but cant play hardcore stuff with the p90.

  • @antivatican1 P90s are good in the neck position. Being single coil they have more definition and don't produce the muddy lows like a neck humbucker. An alternative is to fit a capacitor in series with the neck humbucker to filter out the lows. I did this some years ago on a LP copy and people constantly commented on how good the guitar sounded when playing both pickups. Unfortunately I can't remember whether it was a 0.47mfd or a 0.047mfd capacitor though.

  • i have the same guitar besides i dont have the same pickups in my epiphone special 2

  • Those are the standard pick-ups? I have the same guitar, but the pick-ups are different, they don't look like yours and sound different.. What amplifier do you have?

  • @DragosBCskater they're the same pickups as yours. he just put covers on them

  • Cool riff :)

  • Nice play:P!!! GG

  • Nice play:P!!! gg

  • this is what i was looking for! im a megadeth fan my self and i have just orderd this guitar.... waiting :D...

  • @TheTaylos You should of saved up 100 more and bought a Dean Dave Mustaing signature. If you're such a fan.

  • That riff was kinda awesome!

  • You're awesome haha! Should be getting this in white soon.

  • sounds great . i just ordered a lefty epi lp special ii for my 24th, but never got to test one. i cant wait. thanx for the vid

  • I just ordered one a couple of days ago from a local guitar shop. I'm a beginner that is looking to make this a hobby of mine, and was told that this is a great guitar for beginners and hobbyists. I paid 200$ taxes in for it (everything is a bit more expensive here in Canada :P), and can't wait to finally start teaching myself to play on it!

  • I dont really have any problems with it, its been with me for quite a while now, but i am thinking of selling this and getting a dean vmntx though.

  • @goatygeek

dude i have the same guitar kan i ask where u gt the pick up cover from plz n rock on dude

  • Nice, how long you been playing? I'm starting, ordered my Les Paul special II Ebony

  • @simlaf666 Dude, I am no expert, but I have heard both good and bad reviews on this guitar. My opinion is that guitars are supposed to be different. I don't believe you have to buy a $700 Fender Strat or $ 1000 Gibson to get a good guitar. I have the wine red model of this guitar, and it switches fine, and sounds good. guys who play well suddenly buy into the idea that any guitar under $600 sucks.

  • @kobalt1963 I know, I meant that I ordered the Epiphone, not the Gibson =P

  • @simlaf666 Hey, I'm just a 47 year-old guy who has been trying to learn the guitar since childhood, but never had the right circumstances. When I was younger, I either lacked the guitar, the patience to learn, or the means for instruction. I had a personal instructor in my mid 20's who said I had natural ability, but I got married, had kids, and eventually pawned the guitar. Now I'm equipped, but still just fighting to learn. I hope I learn before arthritis kicks in... Keep it up !

  • crappy playing??? youre good man!

  • i have a question about the pickup selector switch on this guitar

when i try to switch it to treble or rhythm, it just stays like if i had selected both, this is my first electric and i dont know nothin someone help...

  • @FaWkInGsErIoUs I dont really understand ur question, please rephrase ur question and make it more clear.

  • @goatygeek

i cant explain it, it simply doesnt switch pickups it sounds the same.

  • @FaWkInGsErIoUs So basically switching pickups doesnt change the sound correct? if thats the case better have the guitar checked up in a local guitar shop.

  • @goatygeek yeah thats it, its still on warranty so is all good.

  • @FaWkInGsErIoUs These guitars are famous for having crap electrical wiring. I have heard of a lot of them having bad pickup selector switches. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

  • @bassman4570

i had to pull the cap out to fix it! i dont know wtf but its the same as normal but the little black cap on the switch is just removed and is harder to switch so it is just bs.

  • @FaWkInGsErIoUs I don't know ,Dude, I have one and it switches fine. I bought the wine red model.

  • @kobalt1963

well i believe mine was a defect,i did fixed it manually but it looks like my dog chewed it(which is not good, but its working!) :D, and that's it with the switch, my day has been hell and i have a project to finish so im trough with this selector switch... which works now!...kinda.

  • @thetruth786110 If its ur first tym playing guitar then it is expected that u may struggle to touch the right strings,. my pinky is quite small so at first i was struggling doing stretches and using 4 fingers in playing lead, but its just a matter of getting used to, just practice... unwanted string noise can always be muted by the palm and several other techniques even if u hit the wrong strings from time to time.

  • @thetruth786110 Hi, oddly enough, i am also 21 years old but ive been playing guitar for at least 4 years now on and off,, and i also do this just for fun and hobby,. i think this guitar is perfect for beginner/intermediate guitar players, this guitar feels and sound good, and it doest go out of tune easily, but i would say to be fair that the weak point of this guitar are its tuners, not that its bad, but it could be better. but all in all , this guitar is great for a new guitar player.

  • yeah MegadetH the shirt

  • alright i can make my guitar sound like that is it the amp cause im still using the amp that comes with.

  • @GestzugaTenzu You might wanna try a different amp than the one that came with it, usualy the amp that comes with the guitar only has a 8 or sometimes 10 inch speaker which may sound different, in my own opinion this guitar sound better with an amp that has 12 inch speakers in it.

My own suggestion would be a VOX VT 50 amp if you're tight on budget.

  • you change the mics???

  • @999miloko what mics?

  • Hello Bro, nice playing, Im interested in putting a pickguard on this type of guitar, can I do that? Im asking because the LP SPECIAL II doesnt have a pickguard , or wholes, so If I buy pickguard , do I do the wholes myself, or simply it is impossible?

  • @Macsk8ing I cant really answer your question because i never thought of putting a pickguard on this guitar, try consulting a local guitar shop in your area for advice rather than just doing it by yourself.

  • i want this guitar too, is this good? or i choose another one?

  • what is the price for Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar ?

  • that guitar isnt going to last long .. i no cause i had one and it just kept fallin apart but great playin

  • Buy this ONLY if this is gonna be one of your first guitars......if you aren't just starting off but want a cheap Paul get a epi Les paul custom and do some mods on it.

  • Im getting the Special 2 but in Ebony soon... got a JamVOX to go so it'll be awesome :D

  • how did you put the covers on?

  • Vintage Sunburst?

  • sounds nice. i'm leaning towards getting it. i like your shirt by the way

  • lol he said crappy playing xD

  • that sounded sick! cant wait til i get this guitar!

  • Nice playing bro.Looks good with the covers. Were they hard to put on?Much difference in sound?

  • @flymanrock very easy to put on, the covers reduces a bit of treble, so it sounds better on high gain settings with the covers.

  • @flymanrock if u want a nice alternative for epiphone guitars, buy some golden age pickups from stewmac.com...they are priced just right and sound amazing...when i used to have an epiphone les paul these are the ones i installed...the difference was night and day...

  • how much cost this guitar???

  • i really want to buy this guitar , i need to know is it good ? Can you help me ?

  • @bennakamen you get what you pay for really, you should test one out at a local music shop if there's one nearby. I tested an epiphone special 2 GT which is pretty much the same as this, with some added bits. I liked it, I've bought a used one off eBay for £50 which I'm collecting this weekend.

  • my special 2 was £60 from a used guitar store and it kicks the crap outta my Vintage v100 that i thought would replace it XD

  • The pickup covers are awesome

  • i have the same guitar duudee they are pretty good

  • Hey Man , Does it sound good just with the amp ? I want to buy a Line 6 Spider with it and I Want to know that before

    Thank You

  • @TheMuseDay The amp is a big factor, but the guitar is important as well, the guitar has a distinct warm thick feel and sound.

My suggestion would be getting the VOX VT series instead of the line 6, they are in the same price range and VOX is waaaay better than line 6 in tone and feel, you also get more effects and wayy more sounds.

  • bro can u tell me which exact pickup covers did u put on them, they look hot, cuz idk which ones to buy cuz idk if they will fit

  • @jaltheband786 I dont really remember what brand the cover these are, i just got these from a friend that works in the local guitar shop here.

  • you think that is a good idea to put it the pick up covers or it sound better whinout they

  • @guitarramaniacx In my own opinion i like the sound of it better with the pickup covers because it does reduce a bit of treble, and it sounds better on high gain settings.

  • Do you put something on the pickups or it was like that when you bought it ?

  • @Benfanbeatles Like i said COUNTLESS TIMES before, i just added the pickup covers by myself. please stop questions that i have answered COUNTLESS times before. thanks.

  • great playing

  • what pickups???????

  • Are those stock pickups? I have the Epiphone Special II with some other ones!

  • dude sounds just fine. just bought that guitar what did you think?

  • OMG, I have same guitar! Same color and everything! But what amp do u use? cause i eep trying to get mine to sound like tht but it just sounds classic unless i turn my amp (Studio 15R Epiphone) all the way up. thx!

  • @CLEMSOCUB In this video i used a marshall mg30dfx and a marshall jackhammer pedal for the distortion.

  • @goatygeek ohhhh ok thx, how much did ur amp cost? well i prob cant get it anyways yet cause i just got mine on saturday and it came with amp and stuff

  • @CLEMSOCUB I bought it for £80, it was second hand. but if i were you get the VOX VT30 amp, its pretty much in the same price range and its way better then the MG.

  • @goatygeek oh yea i heard it was good, i bought mine in a beginners pack tht the store recomended with tht guitar, strap, picks, case, the amp i mentioned before and an auto tuner. My guitar teacher has tht same amp to so yea

  • you change the hambuckers

  • @setas100 I have already made it clear countless times that i NEVER changed the pickups.

  • hey my friend what pickups are that .

  • @julioskz31 These are the original pickups. alnico v humbuckers. i just added gold pickup covers.

  • awsome

  • what type of pickups are you using?

  • @deggar25 alnico v humbuckers with gold pickup covers

  • what type of pickup are you using?

  • Thanks man

  • Do they stay in tune pretty much ok

  • Yes they do, but the tuners could be better.

  • yes they do but the tuners could be better.

  • What amp r u using?

  • Marshall mg30dfx with marshall jackhammer distortion pedal.

  • don't the covers block vibration a bit so it sounds crappier?

  • @MrToraz you mean the pickup covers? i dont think the covers make it sound bad, it does reduce some treble though.

  • okay!

i'm gonna do the sam then! :D

    treble isnt that importent

  • just got one of these...nice playing by the way not crappy at all

  • what brand r ur pick up covers and what model ?

  • I think this is a great guitar even with the stock pick ups

  • im thinking of getting that guitar. were did you get it from?

  • I have that same exact guitar! Only mine is special edition that I got at guitar center! So it has gold humbuckers instead of the normal ones!

  • you are awesome nice pick up covers btw

  • i got the same guitar as you, but mine sounds crap as compared to this :(

  • hey dude are those basic pickups?

  • Hi, sorry for the late reply,. yeah these are stock pickups, i just added pickup covers to reduce a bit of treble and for the looks.

  • and its very cheap

  • i have a question about this guitar, do you have to hold the pick up selector switch every time you wana switch between lead and rythm or is there a way to make it stay?

  • Is this the standard sound of the guitar? Can you also switch to clean and stuff?

  • yeah, with proper equipment you can get a wide variety of sounds from a nice clean, to heavy distortion and any where in between

  • So like a good amp? Wich brands do you think are the best for less money? :D

  • RIGHT NOW (sorry for caps lock) im using a line 6 spyder they come in many sizes from 15 watts to 100 watts and any place in between, they have clean for melodic sounds, crunch for country and blues, metal for...metal, and insane for crazy metal. it has 6 built in effects, a record/head phone jack, and a mp3 player input. i love it, one of the best amps i have ever owned, and they wont cost you to much.

  • dude! i have the same amp! i love it.

  • You can switch to clean and distorted sounds anytime depends on your amp.

  • i am still waiting for my guitar to arrive but i keep reading reviews that say there are fret problems and buzzing noise. did u have any problems with yours?

  • No, i dont have any problems with mine its been with me for ages and it stil as good as new.

  • hey buddy thanks for posting. I found this video after I purchased mine on line. Awesome job. Was this done with the same amp that comes with the guitar?

  • i have original pick ups i think. Which are these ?

  • umm did you change ur pick ups?

  • nope, never changed pickups, i just added pickup covers to make it look a bit better.

  • Is it good for punk rock?

  • @Virtuoosi6 I have one and play punk rock on it and i have no complaints, it's a really good guitar for a good price

  • is it a good guitar?

  • @panteones2 no it's the deluxe edition i think

  • crappy playing? :D

  • epi rulz! but your hambuckers are different. right?

  • Nope, i never changed pickups, i just added pickup covers to make it look better.

  • awsome too bad i bought another guitar :p

  • hey is that the junior size??

  • Wow your really good!!! and nice guitar

  • you buy another pickups cuz the originals SUCK

  • That looks EXACTLY like my guitar! lol I need new pickups... These dont sound too good with distortion.

  • what kind off amp do u have ?

I have roland but it sucks

  • What kind of pickups are these?

  • What kind of pickups are those?

  • they are in the limited edition epiphone special 2....

  • good! it have new pickups
