I had a gas gas 280 and this sport is a LOT OF FUN! The downside is that these bikes tend to be maintenance intensive and expensive to fix. If I had the money, I'd get back into this as soon as possible.

Are the undersides of these bikes like reinforced or something? so they don't fuck up under the stress/weight etc when you make a bad landing?

Yes, there is a skid plate attached to bottom of the frame.

i started on a beat trying too do tht after 4 months or rideing thn had ago on my mates gasgas an it was so much easyier as it was a lot lighter on the front end

I've got a Scorpa 125 and all the clothing (from a previous bike, I'm 14), and I'm learning all this jumping and stuff. You should definately buy one. Second-hand bikes are cheap and most are in good condition.
