  • Did you even WATCH The Prince of Egypt? Moses NEVER became Pharaoh; he was NEVER in line to become Pharaoh, and never WANTED to become Pharaoh! He was the second son of the living Pharaoh AND adopted to boot; that automatically disqualified him to be the heir to the throne!

  • Even ANTZ was a ripoff! Pixar was in production for A Bug's Life BEFORE Antz went into production!

  • BULLSHIT!! Dreamworks is lazy! They ride on the backs of hard-working groundbreakers like Pixar and steal their thunder! Pixar INVENTED CGI animation, created 10 AMAZING movies using 100% CGI, and STILL didn't see their first Oscar for a full-length animated feature until after Dreamworks cheated their way into the Academy with Shrek!

  • i adore road to el dorado, personally

  • the film was banned in Muslim countries because of the depictions of Moses and Aaron, which Muslims regard as prophets and cannot be depicted, Egypt banned the movie because they made Ramses the pharaoh of the Exodus, which the Egyptians highly praise

  • It's a shame for El Dorado, now that you mentioned it...I was hoping there would me more stories about them...I enjoyed the movie as a kid T^T

  • Ironic that you used the hallejuah music

  • The road to eldorado is possibly THE most underrated kids' film ever! It is just hilarious!

  • I know this is off subject but what did you think of the road to el dorado

  • @MrAndrewsaccount92 Don't think so. From watching the movie, then reading the scripture, I noticed that the movie was really only loosely based on the Bible's story. So, I wouldn't consider what u said blasphemous, but let's just hope the movie isn't, 'cuz I liked the movie 2! Mostly 4 the songs in it.

  • Animat, something tells me you're a fan of Steven Spielberg's movies because you keep calling him the "God of Movies."

  • Antz: I like it very much, ironically I hate antz almost more than anything! I thought it was a bit scary when I saw it the first time(I was 4-5 years old), but later it got better. Though i think it's a bit inapropriate for little kids.

The Prince of Egypt. i also thought it was a bit scary when I was little(about the same age as I saw Antz), but I really love the movie. the animation, the voice acting, the story and the music!

Road to El Dorado: Don't remember very musch from it, but

  • @millaindie I remember watching it in cinema, and what was the name of the cinema? Eldorado! Cool right? I only remember I was watcing it and that they were on a journey, also that the animation was very similar to POE. I think I liked it, but I need to watch it again, before it's completley forgotten!

  • woah Antz(which is one of those movies that you LOVEEEE but,can never find it) was realeased one day after my birthday one year before I was born SWEET!

  • I remember watching Antz in theaters. My sister wanted to see Night At The Roxbury but I wanted to see Antz.

  • "El dorado" is nonsense as far as culture is concerned. The Indians look like some strange mix of Mayan and Aztec. But "El Dorado" is a myth based on the ritual of golden man in the Chibcha culture.

  • But, I liked Road to El Dorado .. D:

  • Why is it that I feel like the Prince of Egypt HAS to be my favorite Dreamworks animated film just because it's based on a legend from the bible. The Prince of Egypt was good but for some reason I like Kung Fu Panda and How to Train your Dragon better. Is favoring those two films over a film based on a biblical legend considered blasphemous? I really can't seem to help it if I like KFP and HTTYR more!

  • RIP Steve Jobs.

  • Why did Michael Esener reject the Ten Commandment's story?

  • @MrAndrewsaccount92 Because Michael Eisner was a dickhead and didn't care if Walt Disney Animation Studios made good movies he only cared if they made good money!

  • Antz. Just because Bug's life and this were both about bugs they have somewhat different stories.

Prince of Egypt. Out of all the bible stories, this one is my favorite, and I think it's because of this movie.

Road to Eldorado. My brothers and I liked that movie. I didn't know it bombed and the critics didn't like it.

  • You didn't mention Ralph Finnes played Rameses

  • God of Movies fantastic my friend

  • lol a 5:22

  • dreamworks booooooooo disney yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

  • road to eldorado rocks

  • Look, I like dreamworks as much as the next guy, but I feel like dreamworks didnt start making quality films until how to train your dragon. The antz story is stolen from a bugs life also. Still an interesting watch though!

  • (second coment) Road to El Dorado is good, it would have been cool to see a sequel (i'm glad with the one movie but it would eb cool), the 'Road To' series would have been great. yeah critics are dumb.. hahah it's funny at 6:08... he said.. NO!!

  • i like DreamWorks, ithe first film from them i seen was pirnce of egypt (on video) and it's a childhood fav, and Ardman's chicken run, i checked out Antz on youtube (half-way through it) i like it but it's not as good as bug's life and alittle adult.. but it has nice CGI that rivals today's cg.

  • ever thought of doing a look back on Studio Ghibli? if you whant to that is.

  • Just before you started talking, I was looking for a button to skip the ad...

  • Man, The Road to El Dorado is one of the most under rated animated films in history!

  • Moses never became pharoah. Just pharoah's brother and apparently the Royal Cheif Architect. xD Though, judging by the top rated comment, you already knew that. ^^

  • I love animatt! He's like Nostalgia Critic and Angry Video Game Nerd except much more clean. :)

  • I really hated Antz.

When was Spirit:Stallion of the Cimarron released?

  • @CrystalJupiter Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron was released on May 24th 2002. I remember seeing it in theaters. GREAT ANIMATED MOVIE!

  • 5:22 best moment!

  • Where did you find the footage of animated Elton John singing? I'd love to see that. :)

These are incredibly interesting videos - I plan on watching the rest of them. :D

  • what!?!?!?! dude i would go see a sequle of el dorado anyday!!!! whould they have found atlantis? fountain of youth?? i did npt know that and now im pissed

  • You know, The Road to El Dorado is one of my favorite Dreamworks Animation movies. I like both Dreamworks and Disney. I don't care if a movie from Dreamworks turns out bad (except the Shrek movies) it's just that I grew up seeing something like this.

  • Personally, I think Pixar accomplished quite a bit more. For starters, they made the world's first CG movie you know as Toy Story. Secondly, they made two sequels, both groundbreaking and as good as or even better than the original. Its an animation fact that classic films are automatically labeled bad when you put a "2" at the end of them, let alone a "3". And Pixar disproved that pretty well.

Good examples of not-so-good sequels include Shrek, Madagascar, and (comming soon) Kung Fu Panda!

  • @zimshowfan What are you talking about? Shrek 2 was awesome! Although, yeah Shrek the Third was pretty mediocre, but at least Shrek Forever After had some effort! And My Family and I love Madagascar 2! It's hilarious! And to call a sequel officially bad before seeing it is kind of unfair. I saw Kung Fu Panda 2 with my Family and friend and we all loved it!Just because something's not made by Pixar doesn't mean it's a bad movie! I mean, yeah, Pixar > Dreamworks but I really love Dreamworks films!

  • What about pixar? I think that is more ground breaking than Dreamworks.

  • @gharman19291 definetly!

  • I love the Prince of Egypt!!! One of the best animated movies I saw.

  • Dreamworks was referenced in the Animaniacs cartoon "This Pun for Hire". Steven Spielberg and the two other guys made a cameo at the end and when Dot asked who they were Yakko replied: "The stuff that Dreamworks are made of." XD

  • @MWolfL Getit? Because Steven worked there? Hahaha. -______-

  • @gtamythmaster43

Yup, I got it, very good reference really.

  • @MWolfL -________-

  • I'm glad they didn't do sequels to eldorado. Dreamworks ruins every good movie they ever made with shoddy sequels. perhaps it's for the best it bombed at the box office so as not to shit on one of my favourite movies....

  • @motionjunkie

What about Shrek? Those sequels were great!

  • @MWolfL ...TWO was ok... 3 and 4? Jeebus! What were they thinking?

  • @motionjunkie

Well, at least the third film got rid of the 'what about Shrek inheriting the throne' problem.

  • @motionjunkie Shrek the Turd lol

  • i sooooo wan't to be an animtor for Disney LOVE DISNEY :)

  • the music from prince of egypt is amazing ... "my son, i have nothing i can give, but this chance that you may live, i pray we meet again... and you will DELIVER US!"

  • I don't get why A Bug's Life ended up being more succesful at the box office! Pixar is big competition (and they do make pretty just as ground-breaking box-office hits) for most CGI studios, but Antz was much more watchable than Bug's Life!

Hey, could you do one of these for a little CGI studio called "Blue Sky Studios"? (the company behing the Ice Age trilogy and Robots?)

  • Wow...I actually JUST noticed that the animation and look of the characters look similar to Prince of Egypt.

I think the problem these days of making a box office success for animated (whether hand drawn or CG) is the story.Or the basic concept..like..Prince of Egpyt was a success because the story was based on the bible which is a very appealing topic. Shrek was also amazing because they took all the ideas of fairytales to make one awesome one (same with Toy Story). They just need better ideas

  • 8:41 WTF!!! hahahah Did Elton John just turn into Pocahontas there? HAHAHA what is this animation? Can someone send me the link to it!??!! PLEASE I want to see it! hahah what's it called?

  • I still like Pixar a lot more than Dreamworks, but Dreamworks has made some great movies, like The Prince of Egypt, Shrek, and Kung Fu Panda. (One day, I hope to own the official art book for Kung Fu Panda.)

  • were part 8 of Animation Lookback: Walt Disney Animation Studios.

  • pretty cool for ANTZ, but such a bummer for El Dorado

  • good work

  • It funny, because Disney gets all the credit for The Prince of Egypt, and It not a Disney film, It Dreamworks , But you can see that it like the type of animated film the Disney would make , with it animation, story , and music style.

  • me and my brohter love el dorado i don't understand why the critics and evreyone hate this movie i mean its not sexit or racits or somthing like that and there schould be a seqaul of el dorado

  • You are brillant ElectricDragon505

  • Is there a chance that Dreamworks might have ripped off ideas from Pixar during the productions of Antz and a bugs life? I understand that Lasseter was betrayed that Dreamworks moved Antz to an earlier date, but I'd like to know how both companies coincidently came up with films about ants. I like to think a bugs life is the more family friendly film and Antz is for older children and grownups.

Great review so far! You're tremendous!

  • I can't wait for your talk on Aardman. Their my second favourite company, next to Disney.

  • Dude, I am so jelous of you!!

  • @Hewylewis You have to admit, he's a good reviewer. He even did a 14 part review of Disney animation. He's very good.

  • @F1315NJ As have I, lol. Though Electric Dragon did a really fantastic job with it.

  • So far, you're doing a great job with this company!

Anyway, I just have to say out of all the ones you talked about, The Prince of Egypt is my favorite. Antz was alright, while Road to El Dorado is extremely underrated!

Oh, & FYI, some critics actually did like Road to El Dorado. Roger Ebert gave it a Thumbs Up.

  • Just wanted to correct something. Moses did not become the Pharaoh of Egypt, his brother Rameses ascended the Egyptian throne after his father Seti. Great video! :)

  • Great first part. I'm definitely looking forward to the next parts. And the drawn eyes on the faces never fail to make me laugh.

  • Ha ironicly enough, were watching ANTZ in my Careers class.
