@TaTgurl1003 as said down below part of assessments done by nurses and doctors are to listen to the apical part of the heart which is located right under the breast. It's a more accurate spot to take a pulse. MOST assessments DO listen to this part of the heart.

@aewilde oh. I just never heard of a doctor listening to a pulse that way. Then again, i haven't been to a doctor in 5 years

Is that pulse thing (under the shirt) something new? I've never seen anyone or had a doctor do that before. That's a little weird.

I think he did a good job, compared to other nursing videos, where they listen on the shirt, or don't lift the shirt for an abdomen exam.

under the shirt is an apical pulse he was listenin to the "tip" of her heart beat and comparing it to the pulse he felt in her wrist
