A city has at least 100,000 people. Because it's heavily-populated, it's more likely for any virus in that matter to infect a lot of people quickly. CAPCOM can't copyright that as a "rule", because it's already happened in many other cases of a lot of viruses over the centuries around the world. They just did in a zombie-styled fashion.

@Fade2Dark The "city infested with zombies" the "biggest rip off"? Dude, RE wasn't even the first of its kind. The '50's novel "I Am Legend" was the one that started the whole idea of an apocalypse caused by a disease. The novel involved vampires than zombies as the disease's victims, but this was until George Romero later borrowed the idea for his "Night of the Living Dead" movie (1968) which really started the famous modern zombie horror genre we know today. Both were far older than RE. ;)

As for Jack Krauser, Jim Ward has been the voice of a lot of characters in games other than Resident Evil 4, like F.E.A.R. Just because it sounds like Jim Ward / English voice of Krauser doesn't mean it's a ripoff. :p

That still doesn't change the fact that RE, like many other modern zombie fiction, took inspiration from "Night Of the Living Dead". So what if it wasn't a virus? It still uses the same orig. idea from "I Am Legend": A vampire/zombie apocalypse caused by a disease. Today's zombie fiction revolves around viruses because what can alter our DNA or our biology in general better than a freaking virus? ;)

@Fade2Dark Again, the name doesn't suggest that it's a ripoff. It's how the idea is thought of or made up of -- like how the virus works, or what it was originally for before it turned to a zombie apocalypse-type virus that it is now, things like that.

In fact, in the game and DF's community, the game's virus is not even commonly called as "N4 virus" but simply as "the virus".

FYI, I am a big Resident Evil fan myself. Played every (mainstream) game. Though I only tried Dead Frontier for only like a week (compared to years of playing RE, up until now, 'cause I'm currently re-playing the GameCube remake of RE1, which is awesome, LOL) I found nothing from the game that says it's a major ripoff, let alone be convinced that the game needs to be sued. And to be honest, if it needed to be, Capcom would have done that a long time ago.
