I bet that field was destroyed by these hippies. I know they f*cked up Woodstock, NY. These hippies were pissing and crapping in peoples yards and destroying or stealing property left and right. Ask anyone who lived up there at the time. They HATED Woodstock for destroying their town. Hippies suck...did then, do now.
@jamo387 OK troll. They damaged a field? Pissing and crapping? You are a little cunt. Obviously you have never been anyplace or anything besides a little troll. :)
@jamo387 hmmm, you're still a troll. troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
Dear troll-boy, why are you watching a "hippie" band playing a "hippie" concert, if you dont like "hippies"? Go back down to your basement bedroom at your stepfather's house.
@jamo387 Wishing a stranger death, comes back at you ten fold, good luck with that, troll-boy. Morrissey gave a voice to certain, seriously romantic and essential gay sensibilities that rang true for the first time within rock music....perfect for you, closet queen.
And THAT...ladies & gentleman....is Rock&Roll...pure and simple...awesome...and wheatonna....Kossoff was always on something...but he was fucking great....
yeah, because that capitalism thing is working out really great for the working class these days, no?
but anyway I wanted to put in a plug for the live Free album, remastered & expanded---is really a fine document of this amazing band at their absolute peak
@ likewowmanhey... you sure miss the fun back then. Friends and I were there and loved it, whether inside or out. Hendrix came on at night and left after his turn, and I was heartbroken when he died that same year. So many nice memories to treasure. Love and Peace to everyone, and keeping playing good music !!
Shit, I have been going through the line up at IOW 1970, although I was in and around I had NO idea of the range of talents on show. Free, Moody Blues, Procol Harum, Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, The Doors; need I say more. Glastonbury, eat your heart out!
@greywallpaper The singer is Paul Rodgers who was in Bad Company ( I believe). The band you're talkin about was called Thin Lizzy and their singer was named Phil Lynott, who also played the bass. I'm gettin' a little old so you may want to check those out, hell I could be wrong....take care,
@JeffTewell Thanks Jeff. I appreciate your comments. I've heard of Phil Lennox. I heard that he OD'd, which is sad news but I haven't been able to establish the truth of it. I'd like to find out more
A guy named Kutiman made a video mix called Sue You and used this song/video. It is soooo cool! Check it out youtube.com/ kutiman...such a great way to represent great artists!
MY DAD WENT TO THIS FETIVAL , THE NIGHT MY BROTHER WAS BORN (PRIORITIES) HAHA , HE WAS WIRED IN A FIELD ON SOMET HE SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN TAKING WHILST HENDRIX CAME ON AND MISSED IT , THEY WENT TO SUPPORT THIS BAND , SINGERS FROM MIDDLESBROUGH !!!!!
@clickswitchh I'd rather strangle the ignorant pig who asked him if he'd ever had a job. The hippie must be a gentleman otherwise he would have rammed the microphone down his opinionated neck, or better still, up his ass.
It's hot the Festivals mid way thru and it's still rocks the wight. "Florence was a nightingale" love that hair girl! oh!! and England will spank the yanks tonight.
ma da quale cazzo di posto del cazzo di United Kingdom venivano i PARIOLINI che hanno organizzato il festival di whight ? ed il giudeo che contava i soldi che fine ha fatto ? Go to the HELL
Hey mate any idea where I can get my hands on the whole documentary about the Isle of Wight Festival??? I taped it when it aired on BBC a long time ago but VHS isn't the most reliable media in... well anywhere basically.
dharmafourone, If u do an Internet search for it I'm sure you'll find something. For instance Wiki says 'Message to Love' (directed and produced by Murray Lerner) is the feature documentary film of the Isle of Wight Festival 1970.
