For those that have the "nv_data.bin not found" issue; make you go into Settings > Application > Development > and enable USB Debugging. Then try and run the Generate_code.bat file again. I had the same issue, this is how I solved it. I did not have to root the phone. At the time of the unlock I was running Android 2.1 on the Bell version of the Samsung Galaxy S

Hi, how do I unlock the phone that doesn't allow me to root it first?

My phone was working fine for a few months and, all of a sudden, it asked me for a Sim network unlock pin yesterday. I really don't know what to do.

I've tried to root it but the three button method does not work...I also tried SuperOneClick and all it does is hang when it gets to"waiting for device..."

Do I have any other options? This has become such a huge headache...
