Brady just got a career high of 517 yards passing in one game with 4 TD's in the 2011/2012 season. Its funny to see how he came from looking this terrible to being one of the most highly respected and best players in the NFL to date.
@VeniUbique AND if Reche catches that WIDE-ASS open pass in the AFC CG we probably win instead of settling for the FG if you remember that drop. I sure as hell do. Hit him SMACK in the chest and hands.
there are dozens better quarterbacks better than brady. its just that they wont get discovered. brady has had great recievers and a greta o-line, not to mention a good running game to back up any of his mistakes.
@worldslayer ah! ah! ah! I can't make the same dumb claim just about any athletes in the world. There're dozens of soccer player better than Maradona and Pele, dozens of runners better than Bolt, swimmers better than Phelps, gymnasts better than Vitaly Scherbo. They're just haven't been discovered yet. By the way, who are those great weapons Brady had? How many first round draft he's had around him? Talking about mistake, Brady is one of the QB out there that make the least mistake?
Drew Brees is no speed demon, hasn't got the best arm, isn't even the "ideal" QB size but gets it done. Montana, same thing. Great QB's often don't have those easily measurable numbers.
actually Drew Brees was an excellent runner in college and clocked a decent 40 at 4.6 but, I heard he could run in the high 4.4's which is really good. He is a pretty underrated athlete at his position.
This combine stuff is fun stuff to watch and talk about but it's a bit over-rated, particularly at the QB position. Personally I would rather have a QB with a lackluster 40 but great pocket presence and good scrambling ability. Drew Brees is no speed demon, hasn't got the best arm, isn't even the "ideal" QB size but gets it done. Montana, same thing. Great QB's often don't have those easily measurable numbers.
im as big a Brady fan as you can be... and theres NO WAY in hell he ran a 4.4..... whoever thinks he did obviously doesnt watch football, or have any intellectual grasp on what a speedy NFL player looks like, compared to a physically slow but cerebral mastermind with a cannon arm that goes by the name of Tom Brady
I'm a Cowboys fan but I still think Brady is a great QB, even though he has gotten big headed from all of the "attention" he receives and from the Super Bowls he's won. He deserves the attention he gets I guess because he's earned it, but man how quickly someone can get so arrogant after being given pretty much the slimmest of chances to even play in the NFL. Knowing you were drafted 199th should be atleast somewhat of a humbling experience.
Nearly 200 touchdowns with well under 100 interceptions. If anybody can say that that isn't a good record (92.9 QB Rating too) they are either an idiot or just a Brady hater. In his 9 seasons (minus this year for obvious reasons) he is on course not only to be first-ballot HOF but perhaps in the top-three QB's of all time. The dude is awesome, and I am a Cowboys fan too.
yeah too right. Who cares what any QB's 40 is? If they can throw accurately and have excellent pocket presence and awareness (which Brady is the best example of) then they can neglect their own running to a degree. Question: Who would you rather have Brady or Vick? I think it is a given myself.
I agree. But one thing that is important is body fat%, because this shows a players dedication. At 211 lbs, he should not of been that fat. And Jerry Rice was shredded and put in his time in the weight room, unlike Tom Brady who never lifts weights. So in some ways the combine is important
Man, great point. That perfectly illustrates why raw speed is not key to the QB position. If a WR can be "slow" but successful, what does that say for the QB position?
who gives a shit about the combine what matters is wins and say what you want about the super bowl but the most wins in the league says a lot oh by the way he still has three superbowls.
yeah i ran a 2 sec 40 and im 390 lbs im also 7ft tall no big deal. who gives a fuck if you start for your varsity team the fact is that your 5'10 and weight 300 pounds. i bet you get laid all the time.. oh and there is not one freshman in highschool that could bench press 225 for 30 reps
im 300 pounds and 5'10 and im a freshman and I play football.I ran the 40 yard dash in 5.62. I bench 225 30 times. And I started for my varsity team at right guard.
hernandez63 i highly doubt that because your max would be 450.I don't think any freshmen could even deadlift that. Also you really need to lose some weight because at 5'10 you shouldn't be over 200 pounds as a freshman. Also every one know as a linemen your most important lifts are squats, deadlifts and powercelans.
this should serve as a lesson to the Raiders, drafting the Duffelbag Boy, AKA JaMarcus, just because he was really big and could throw a long way. Always draft the unathletic white boy as your QB! as long as everyone's mentioning it, I ran a 4.82.
People who berate Brady know nothing. You should be happy you are seeing 2 of the all time greats in there prime Brady and Manning you dont have to like them but you have to give them both props
5.23 is slow as shit, i agree many offensive line man are faster then that, tht guy is a idiot for saying 5.23 is fast and that lineman arnt tested, a avgerage joe runs faster then that
this video should prove why brady is so talented. no one even knows about him until he was drafted. belicheck said that he drafted him instead of some other qb because he likes how brady thinks on the field.
Dude, 5.23 is fast for a QB. Offensive linemen DO NOT run faster than this unless they are the type who have less fat and more muscle. But most drafted CAN NOT! And why would offensive linemen even be drilled in the 40? Sure, they are, but nobody cares what they get. And even if Tom Brady is slow, he DOESNT have to RUN! His O line is on freaking steroids and have bones of steel. In fact, the whole team has bones of steel. They never get freaking injured.
I looked up Brady's time. It was 5.23 seconds. Many offensive lineman in the NFL can run faster than this and they weigh well over 300 on average. So I'm not sure why you people would give me negative ratings for saying I'm fast. You're just jealous that if I tackled you, all of your bones in your body would break simultaneously. If I get enough encouragement or genuine interest, I'll film myself running a sub 5-40 at 305 pounds. Then you can suck an egg.
What is the accurate 40 time from this run? From Brady's NFL combine. If you tell me what it is I'll film myself running faster. I am faster than this.
if brady had marvin harrison, reggie wayne, edgerring james, joseph addai and that o-line year in and year out this wouldnt even be a debate. brady finally had some weapons around him this year and he proved he was the better QB by crushing mannings records
Dude he has had a better offensive line and that counts for alot. You are actually going to compare Marvin Harrison to Moss? Common, imagine if Peyton had him. And besides what does the runner really have to do with the quarterback?
What does the runner really have to do with the QB? Ummmmmmmm, ask Dan Marino. He would have put up way better numbers had he had a really good RB. A good RB helps keep a defense honest....duh.
@Hitchenstein... brady had really underrated receivers, like troy brown and kevin faulk out of the back field, plus a much better oline, plus a way better defense, and not to mention the cheating... thats right, i still haven't forgotten about it, no matter how bad the nfl tries to forget and ignore it, they disgraced the game which is somthing that should and will never be forgotten.... P.S. if peyton played every quarter and ran up the score in 04, he would have thrown 55 tds at least.
@Fvantagio15 I stopped reading your reply when you compared Troy Brown and Kevin Faulk to Marvin Harrison and (an in his prime) Edgerin James. Get a grip on yourself
@Hitchenstein...i never said they were anywhere near as good as marvin and the endge, those are 2 future hof...however everyone says brady got those rings without any recivers and dont give troy and that reciving core any credit, instead they jsut hop on bradys dick and say he did it all....perhaps you should have read my whole post.

I had fine motor skills therapy, auditory therapy, speech therapy, and phonics that remediated my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia. So I transformed and improved myself through hard work.
True but you have to chalk it up to luck as well. Had Drew Bledose not gone down in the playoff game Brady would'nt be where he is, he'd probably still be great, just not have as many rings. You have to be lucky and good.
videvil, i'm sorry but you can't say Brady's rings are luck. he's done it MULTIPLE times and without anyone. then he goes on to break around 12 records for passing and winning games. that myfriend is not luck
Well, I did leave out hard work as well, Brady had to work hard to get where he was, luck is a small part of life. You have to work to get where you are and Tom showed what hard work can get you.
Wow, can't beleieve that Tom Brady went from that to now being the record holder for touchdown passes in a season and an undefeated regular season record
seems disrespectful to just jog like that

True but you have to chalk it up to luck as well. Had Drew Bledose not gone down in the playoff game Brady would'nt be where he is, he'd probably still be great, just not have as many rings. You have to be lucky and good.

Good point. I agree. Thanks for being civil in your points. some people here are too immature.

videvil, i'm sorry but you can't say Brady's rings are luck. he's done it MULTIPLE times and without anyone. then he goes on to break around 12 records for passing and winning games. that myfriend is not luck

Well, I did leave out hard work as well, Brady had to work hard to get where he was, luck is a small part of life. You have to work to get where you are and Tom showed what hard work can get you.

18-0. Now 18-1. Way to beat the G-men. The Patriots choked.
