Well I don't understand why that is, because it's a folder which you download, it's not one single file. I don't see explorer will try and open a folder?

Do you have the folder downloaded? If so, are you trying to open any files within that folder?

What do you mean it's not working? It won't play back on your PC or on your player? If it's not playing on your player, then it depends on your processor, If you have an AMD processor then follow ALL the steps in this video, if not, then just download the AVIConverter and install it and it should work.

When I download the AviConverter, it turns out to be an .rar file and the mencoder is a .7z file. I can't convert any videos with this. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I have Windows Vista Basic and the brand is Acer. Hope this is enough to build on.

You need WinRar to extract the files. Download the AviConverter from the site in the description, then extract it to you desktop, THEN download the other file IF you have an AMD processor, that's the file with the Mencoder.exe if you don't have an AMD processor then you only need to AviConverter, that's it.

Hey, When I try to convert a video it will work fine untill 99% and then just freeze up. Is this something I am doing wrong or is it a falt with the program or something? Does it convert files from AVI to something else or from something else to an AVI?

Sometimes the video will still play, even if it got stuck on 99% so try put in your player anyway and see. If not, then unistall the program and reinstall it. You might of just had a bad install.

It converts to .avi

There is loads of files it will convert from

mpg mpeg mp4 wmv etc TO .avi

You can even convert .avi to .avi because it converts it to the correct .avi format for the player.

i see the words on the video. But when you go to get mencoder and type that in, alot of them come up. Which one? It doesn't show it close enough to see which file is chosen. I have anydvd converter and it has the mencoder file in it. I did the copy and paste and replace. I used the disk they sent me with my mp3 mp4, for the converter. Still didn't work. I have an amd processor and vista. Followed this word for word, except when it goes to pages and doesn't show which file is chosen for download

If your play is exactly the same as mine, then I don't know why you have anydvd? anyway. If it is the same then the video just shows you how. The links are in the description. The first link is for the aviconverter download, any of the 2 links you see there is fine to download.

The 2nd link in the description is for the mencoder file. When you click it, it should automatically pop up with a download box, click save. If not then download the one that's called "Mplayer-athlon-svn-25962.7z"

Well I don't know what's wrong then.

You shouldn't even be trying to open the mencoder file anyway, all you need to do is cut and paste it in to the AVIConverter folder , to replace the old one.

okay i didn't do that what i did was since i didn't have the disk i had something in there that said important don't delete it was a rar file so what i did was downloaded this program and it automatically opens thinks like that up and it opened it right up faster n better than that hard stuff but thanks though you did good thanks for taking the time to show me what yo do just couldn't do it

When you click download. You should get a box that says

"open with" AND "save to disk"

Obviously you click save to disk. You need winrar to open that file.

When you paste the link, make sure there is no space in the word "download" in that link. That's why it goes blank. I just tried it and it worked fine for me. If you don't take the space out, it will be replaced with %20 making it "dow%20nload"

Because it's not the right converter. It's not as simple as converting it to avi format and that's it. I already had videos in avi format that wouldn't play, I had to use the converter to convert it again in to .avi

I don't know why exactly, probably the codecs with the converter. Not sure. All I know is, you have to use this converter for it to work though.

Yeah that's weird. What you need to do is;

Click the link and it should open a new tab/window depends on your browser. Then just copy the address from the address bar and paste it again and press enter. It should work.

YUP IT REALLY WORKS for my mp3..
