Absolutely brilliant Crime/Drama/Thriller - truthful storyline, great acting, very emotional scenes... Jodie Foster was amazing as always. Terrence Howard was great too.

I saw it last nite. Extremely violent, and I LOVED IT! They don't make them like this anymore. If you liked DEATH WISH, then you'll love this film. But if you're a bleeding heart liberal, stay away, because you WILL be offended by the film's message.
funny, i consider myself a bleeding heart liberal, but as a victim of voilence myself, this movie seems more like a deliberation on the violence we all contain within, and the delicate balance between rage and animal instincts. i think it is simplistic to be offended by such deliberations when we have to face the inevitable questions that come with living in a violent society.
Keeping your assessment of the movie in mind, do you feel the same way about "Death Wish?" After all, Charles Bronson's character was also a civilzed New Yorker (in the crime-ridden mid-70s, mind you) who was pushed into a situation where he became something he never would've been before.
Well I just saw this for the very first time I am am totally in love with it. Best Foster movie in my opinion. Wow.........

Foster had this whole Punisher thing going on. Plus, I spent an hour just staring at the poster. I love it! My favorite vigilante movie yet.

Great movie of the genre...Jodie will get an OSCAR NOMINATION at the very least....Direction was very moody...and you could "feel" New York.
