Two questions, can this camera do 1080p and in this video, is this the sound quality of the camera already? or did you use an external mic?

Got my copy of 500D last year, and just started exploring video mode after playing too much on static images.

I hate when the noises building up on darker colored area. Even when shot on 1080i, its still appearing (with even bigger noise).. :(

While its better for Photography A little video doesn't hurt :D And this IS ALOT better and smoother. And the extra 3 megapixels over the d5000 is a BIG plus! Hey I have a question for you Canon Users How much until the CCD gets TOO hot from recording videos? Also When Overexposing for astrophotography Until how much till it gets TOO hot? I am So sold on the Canon! :D Heck while at it Why Not A t2i :O :D

Because not Only Can I take pictures with it but at least Some VIDEO IN HD :D. NikonD5000 Is tooo Jerky in HD video. The way I see it Nikon is More for a Beginner DSLR photographer And Canon is the Way to Go! But Even though I NEVER used A DSLR I think I need the best :D And it is Canon! I'm gonna use it for Astrophotography :) As well as Photography!

Hmm I'm debating between this and the Nikon D5000 Both are equal in terms of price! For photos I think the Nikon Has A little edge because the pics appear Good On the other hand It appears alittle TOO dark. The canon appears overexposed in pics The Canon I think wins in Color :D. Though I noticed Something! when recording Video On the D5000 it is kindy jerky but on the t1i :D Its Nice and smooth No jerkiness at all! IN MY own Opinion I truly Think Canon is the Best one for me :)

I always see these videos in really high def and they look amazing but I can't stand the focus. It looks focused only on the subject wich is a good thing but because everything els us blurry it almost looks greenscreened. It's a great feature to add to a still image camera but it probably won't replace normal camcorders (obviously)

The DSLRs have some problems with motion, the wobble-effect, but overall it's awesome image quality and a great new feature for DSLRs!!

you zoom with the lens... if it's a zoom lens... this is not a video camera, it's a DSLR.. so it behaves just like a DSLR would

There's no button to zoom in or out using the DSLR. You have to zoom with the lens itself.

Since you don't use a tripod:

TIP: Get a long piece of string and tie a large washer or something to one end.

Step on the washer and hold the other end with the camera hand, apply tension to stablize the shot. No more mr. jiggles.

Picture is really nice when its on a stand and sound to but as soon as you start moving around with it the picture gets shaky and the its not that fast on the auto focus. Obviously its not a camcorder but it does the picture really good when on the stand thats for sure.
