@Miker3797 Because for liability and security reasons...especially in the US...I can't let you hear the audio. Common complaint that I get tired of hearing.
@SkyWestCRJPilot The engine driven hydraulic pumps (two middle switches) are left in low (1500 psi) during flight and are turned to hi (3000 psi) below 10,000 to aid with high draw items like gear, flaps and slat extension. The outside two switches are the electric driven aux pump and the transfer pump which are both turned off above 10,000 ft.
Great video. Some significant weather there at about 1:23 to 1:30 and then a little later. Was much being painted on the radar or did it just look worse than it was?
@BaronBoy100 That was a nasty line of storms between Dallas and San Antonio in the summer of 2009. Normally about a 35 minute flight that took about 1.5 hours due to the weather. Thunderstorms are beautiful...from a distance :)
2 down, 31 to go. I'm gonna have a marathon with all of your vids. Just subribed and I love them! Especially your MD-80 pre-flight walkaround! Keep 'em coming!
VERY NICE! Love AA, Love the MadDog, and Love the Music! Keep the great videos coming - You need a website or blog to go along with all the great videos!
Fun video--brings back many memories of a unique and interesting airline career. There was never any other seat on an airliner that could beat the view from up front!
freaking awesome video

could have been a fairly good vid - the music spoiled it, tho. Thumbs-down from me.

Is it difficult for American's MD80 pilots to transition to 737-800s that are replacing the 80s? More simulator time?
golfalot1 1 year ago
@golfalot1 I think the transition course is 4 or 5 weeks long.

very cool perspective. so your a super 80 pilot? must be an interesting job
