  • is QOTSA gone?

    are they broke up?

  • no, all the artists in this band are just taking a break from their other projects

  • dave started this song a little fast, still rocks tho

  • Can you get a better lineup? Didn't think so.

  • Did JPJ record vocals for the record? My copy hasn't arrived yet!

  • Them Crooked Vultures are just an amazing group with great members. This song reminds me of earlier rock, in a good way, they made it sound modern at the same time, y'know?

I'm gonna keep an eye on them for a while

  • this song is great :]

  • love all this talk abt "Rated R" - like ThePolarised said, that one's pretty special for me too...

i certainly hope Josh gets into his "weird" headspace for this new one, that's where he does his best stuff IMO. Initial signs are good...

  • I wanna go back to pukkelpop!!!!

  • nice vids, the sound is very good.

  • this sounds AWESOME!!! theyre touring oz in january..still deciding whether or not to get tix!

  • I'll make that decision for you - get a ticket!! They are incredible :)

  • CANT WAIT FOR THE BRISBANE CONCERT!!

  • that decision shouldn't be hard haha

  • better decide soon. I'm surprised they havent all sold out yet...but i think they soon will :-/

  • Your opinion may be valid, but the only person in the band who didn't make their name in experimental music is Dave Grohl, and even that's kinda iffy. There's nothing wrong with not being about experimental music, but if Homme's in the band, expect don't expect to see something super mainstream.

  • And thank christ for that! Feel good and Monsters were two of the best songs on Rated R.

The last thing we need is another awesome band going mainstream. And this is three of the greatest musicians of the last couple of generations, I don't think they'll need any help! All of their shows are completely sold out, and that's pretty much without anyone having heard anything.

  • I'm guessing you're joking about those two, or haven't listened to them for a while. Apart from them, and maybe Quick and to the Pointless the record is pretty special. Auto Pilot and In the Fade are just amazing.

  • I think that the people that recorded such great albums as 'Rated R' and 'Songs for The Deaf' were doing so by listening to the sounds in their heads and hearts and portraying that w/music. This is how great music is made, not by thinking of MTV while composing or recording.

  • No, Josh and Dave have both said 'Songs for the Deaf' was a radio concept album ie. every song on it was written with airplay in mind.

Anyway It's interesting New Fang is now the first single to be released, very keen to hear the studio version on Monday!

  • their first 3 albums all kick ass. monsters in the parasol is great. feel good is whatever. that whole album is fucking crazy, i think i lost my headache?? that song is crucial. i enjoy the songs nick oliveri screams too, like quick and to the pointless and tension head.

  • all queens albums are good all 5 of them

  • i wasn't huge on lullabies but lately it hasn't left my cd player. still not huge on era. i'm completely for the first 3. i think if there were a few from nick on era it could have spiced it up a little. still nothing but respect for qotsa/tcv and all parties involved.

  • mainstream ? you mean like Nickelback , Godsmack , FM radio horse shit ? This is a breath of fresh air.

  • Dave Grohl did get his start in the DC hardcore scene. It may not have been that experimental, but it definitely wasn't mainstream. Anyone who listened to the Probot album can tell that his musical interests go beyond just the Foo Fighters.

  • you forgot he had some fingers in the Nirvana songs to

  • thank god.

  • All songs ive heard equals pure awesomeness

  • haha you lot are a bunch of fucking fools i said they are good musicians they just can't work well together

  • Oh my god this stuff is great! The legendary John Paul Jones with two of the best modern musicians, Josh Homme and Dave Grohl, this stuff is great. I have to get the album, and need to see them live.

  • Comment removed

  • not a huge fan of this band everyone of the performers in their own right are amazing but it just doesnt work if you put together in my opinion

  • idiot

  • yes you obviously are..

  • i can see your point it is sounding a bit more on the qotsa side but they are only playing a few select songs from the album.

just wait till next month and im sure theres more bass and drums jedi telepathic mind melting like with zeppelin.

  • thank you you unlike the others (who are very narrow minded and are unable to read) think i was saying they are all shit when i just don't think they work together..

and i dont think they should try to sound like led zeppelin or anyone they should have their own sound.

  • Saw them at reading and to be fair apart from this song a few others the rest are pretty average.

  • Out of the songs I have heard by TCV I think this is probably my favorite so far. It's got such a nice combination of rock with smooth slides and vocals.

  • Agreed, chorus is so catchy!!

  • Jones Grohl and Homme ! Please save the world from Nickelbacks and Seethers and other such soulless shit .

  • i agree. TCV will inject some real rock into this mainstream bs we hear on the radio.

  • I sure hope so. Change is needed.

  • amen. im tired of this hip hop lady gaga shit. rock needs to come back and kick all of these wannabe gangsters in the ass,

  • Tell them man!!!

  • hell yeah, we need more lemmy lol

  • Sorry sappy, pure gold like TCV will never leak in radio cuz radio is for bs playlists!!

  • yeah whats the tuning?

  • is his guitars still tuned in C?

  • What kind of set up did you use to record?

  • Well you're gonna laugh.

    It's filmed with a sony cybershot DSC-W270

So i was quite amazed by the quality of the audio.

  • goei kwaliteit man! Bedankt!!

  • Sweet concert hey? Thanks for posting this vid... the sound is awesome!

  • Very tight, I love it. Too bad the slide is too much centre. If the rhythm guitar had been cranked up a bit it would've been even better. I like every one of those musicians, life is great.

Grohl and Homme don't (seem to) care about the business, it's all music for them and Jones is music. I used to be jealous of the 20s, 30s, 50s and 60s I didn't experience, but today's a good music era too.

  • mmm tasty jams

  • I heard that that RS article was pulled... so yeah we're not sure on that yet. The anticipation's killing me

  • the album comes out in October...thats 2 months...damn...

  • where did you hear that? I know there was some jackasses who made a fake date and title but haven't heard an official release date

  • read it on a couple of sites, including rolling stone magazine...it also says that the title is going to be 'never deserved the future' ...but you're never sure of course :)

  • yeah i heard that true but people figured out it was a scam so thats not gonna be the release date or the album title :(

  • Avoid Rolling Stone mag at every turn. It is a birdcage liner and little else .

  • 10-4

  • Even rolling stone was fooled. :(

  • k, non the less, I don't expect an official announcement...since these guys do everything unexpected....

  • There has been no official announcement about the album coming out in October. Those original videos were fakes.

  • Great stuff! Can't wait for the album! It will blow us all away!

  • so fuckin money

  • sweet. I'm seeing "new fang" a lot. probably that

  • Sounds fucking rad. More bluesy than QOTSA, definitely feels good man.

  • thanks!

  • fuck you for saying that TCV is shitty! if you hate on those guys, then you are a douchebag and a failure at life and identifying good music. nuff said bitch.

  • Ha, yeah, keep believing that.

  • cheers 4 posting! go the supergroup

  • Thanks for the upload. This shit is so cash.

  • This shit is pretty rad for sure.

  • Agree with dragon067, I think the song might be called New Thang, but regardless of a name it's awesome

  • I hear "fang" also every review of all three shows has reported the title as New Fang, so I'd be leaning towards it being that title.

  • Are you sure the title isn't New Thang? That's what it sounds like.

  • It says New Fang on their setlist

  • Oh wow! Where did you see the set list?

  • I was standing somewhat behind the soundman in the Melkweg, Amsterdam 19/08 ^^ And he had the setlist with him.

  • Thanks a bunch man!

  • very cool. thanks man.
