  • Hi,

Nice work and good teaching video.

However, can you teach me (photos or video if possible) how to fold the legs which you have not shown in the video. I have seen the diagram but I didn't get it.

  • what????

  • how do you know it will be foldable at the end? which crease is valley and which one is mountain fold? how did you learn this? are all fine details included in the pattern?

  • dude you should be in howcast

  • @comment600 Whats it?

  • @tadashimori try typing it on youtube. Its a site. Also on youtube. They teach you almost everything possible. You shold be in howcast srsly

  • @tadashimori howcast is something that helps you. like how to pick your own lock. there is also a few origami things.

  • @tadashimori one of these shows they explain everything in to the slightest details (also origami)

  • @tadashimori howcast(dot)com go to the site and sign up and next time make more video I made som of your models but not the scorpion. :)

  • @tadashimori a person who makes thousands of videos of how to do stuff

  • @tadashimori Howcast is a youtube channel, that teaches you how to do a bunch of things :) (they also teach origami)

  • @tadashimori howcast are videos the show how to do stuff like origami and other stuff, it even gives some "did you know?s"

  • @tadashimori aren't you Brasilian?????

  • Parabéns cara!

Este video é mt legal e explicativo.

    Abraços de Portugal.

  • @yppcubber Obrigado =)

  • @comment600 his mastering shouldnt be on howcast

  • ok how do we fold them now

  • me = #1 fan

  • excelente scorpion ya lo he plegado :)

  • Why divide the paper into 24 parts, why not more or less parts?

  • @gamemeister27 Nice question =D

Because the front legs has 3 squares of radius, and I did put 4 legs in the same row.

So the origami must be divided in a 3x4 multiple. So I could choose 12, 24, 36, 48... and so on.

Using the 24 grid I got a nice result. So thats why it has 24 parts.

  • @tadashimori is the first one was that the method used to fold the chocobo by Satoshi Kamiya

  • @tadashimori

ok i make this cp what i make first or last ???

  • @Drvaxo You need to try different ways to fold it. Actually the order doesnt matter in the result, but there are easier ways.

About the scorpion, there's a tutorial video link in the video description.

  • tem como fazer um video em portugues ? vlw *-*

  • @capazopenguin me too

  • @GamePortable Thanks =)

  • how can you send videos longer than 15 minutes?

  • @VasilKuzevski i think it is because he joind in 2006 (i think u could make long videos if u joined youtube in 2006 )

or he is a youtube partner

  • what kind of paper do you use?

  • I noticed the corners of the Box Packing went towards the center of the circle....

  • boludo is an excrement

  • the link of CP doesnt work... can u help me?

  • can you make a vid

  • Okay... Now how do you fold CPs? :/ All the origami I've ever done I had step by step instructions, and then there are models with just crease pattern and I always wondered how advanced folders fold from just looking at all those lines. I mean some line take others first so I wonder how do people also know which folds go before others in a CP.

  • dude, if you can pls make a video in how to fold that god damn cool scorpion, you're my hero

plssssssss man, make a vid with that scorpion

  • how do you know where/how far to make the lines coming from the circle?

  • Oh~ a tutorial please!

  • This is definitely the most important and valuable origami instructional video on YouTube!!!

  • tadashimori can you make the model slowly

  • é meuu faz em portugues...

  • your AWESOME!i already print the CP but i dont know the valley and mountain folds..pls make another cp with valley and mountain with blue and red. Thanks

  • can you make a video with instructions? PLEASE!!!!!!!! By the way, the model is awesome!

  • WOW! the circles u drawn is so perfect, really impressive, i cant even draw a perfect circle :D

  • Guauuu lindo escorpion pasa el diagrama

  • wow, your soo cool. please load a video with the full instructions for this scorpion.

    PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!!!.....

  • me los pueden traducir al español???

  • I don't know how to explain but you are a master of origami. You should write a book with diagrams and how to create origami! again You are master.

  • Cool I give dive stars, but if I could add somthing. Please make a video on a discription of folding the paper because it us still a little confusing. If you could I thank you very much.

  • cool

  • hallo there! =) thanks for the video! i enjoyed =) i am also interested in origami ;-)

  • Can you make a video or something with the collapsed base of your scorpion? I decided to try it and I think I have the base a bit wrong, but if I am correct in the picture on your website the top part is the tail and the bottom two corners are the pincers right? But the collapsed base has the pincers between some flaps I think are the legs. This is my second try at a boxpleated CP, my first being Brian Chan's dobsonfly, so if this is too advanced for me to try please let me know.

  • Ei Tadashi, você poderia fazer um video que ensine formas de como "embutir" asas nos modelos?

  • i designed a man on a slay origami, your videos helped alot

  • tadashi faiz um deses em portuges eu sou seu fã

    fazendo po favor

    ]

  • @OhLuan123 hm.. ok.

  • @tadashimori please make a tutorial on how to fold the scorpion. its a great model. thank you.

  • u sound japanese but u dont speak it...

  • hi:

do you have any cp or diagrams instructions.

    Marbelous model.

    congratulations.

    ANGEL

  • @airsoto1975 The CP is on my website. I'll put on the video description

  • Grande Tadashi, ja tem o lugar garantido no céu...auehuhae

  • is that all? pshh piece of cake...

  • how do i know where to do valley folds and mountain folds?

  • @40aldrick it doesnt really matter, if the first fold is valley, then the next is mountain and so on... With the first fold you'll just decide wich side of paper you want to show.

  • Fantástico este serviço que você está fazendo de ensinar ao público. Parabéns pela iniciativa.

  • This is amazing :D Thanks for doing this in english too!

The video definitely helped me a lot more than reading Lang's books. Thank you like really a lot!

  • I'm not able to create it. even if i were i won't be as good as you. You will become soon a great origamiist and i am soo gealous :(. Just kiddin. A=nyways. Good job

  • thankyou for the reply im gonna give it a shot ..... thxs

  • dude your a origami master

  • Amazing video, I always wanted to try to learn CPs and get into origami creation and this was a very clear way to show the thought process of circle packing and box pleating. Have you ever thought about making videos for solving CPs? I tried to follow some guides but I am still a beginner, if that, at solving them and boxpleated CPs look impossible to try.

  • @shortloldude I may make some videos about it, but its really really hard to explain how you do figure out the CP because it's basically trial and error, BUT, you must be able to see the fold results before you fold'em.

  • lol i know this is gonna sound sooo stupid lol but how did you divide th paper up into 24 parts.... like what measurement and stuff ... oh yea ar you gonna do a video on how to assemble it thanx ..... oh yea you make great origami vids :-)

  • @maxpower285 No, it's not a stupid question, it's quite difficult to figure out how to do this without a rule.

    24 = 3 x 2 x 2 x 2, so basically, you need to divide the paper in 3 parts, then in 2 parts, and so on...

To divide in 3 parts, you need to make the folds as in the video beginning(thats why the paper is already folded in the beginning)

  • very interesting and clear explanation! I congratulate with you!

  • @savazi2004 Thanks =)

  • Naaaaaaaaaaaaa I like portuguese! LOL just kidding is so good to hear the explanation in English though portuguese is quite okay for me too!

  • oh could you please make a buterfly video or a moth video. please!

  • i made up like a velociraptor, it looks really good i think but its kind of missing legs how would you go about inventing legs for something??

  • @xer90 it depends on the technique you used... Try looking Robert J. Lang Origami Design Secrets book to learn some more.
