Ip was born in 1893 and the second-sino Jap war happened between 1937-1945, which mean on the earliest Ip's age is already over 40years old when Jap attack China; but yet we saw Jap attack in trailer when this is a prequel?

Is there a need to add in Jap attack when first Ip Man already shown? Why the overlapping?

This is an alternate version of ip man movie by another HK director, herman yau. This movie is a prequel and said how ip man learnt his skills. Coincidentally, most of the crew who are involved in the original donnie yen ip man are also taking part in this movie. The actor To yuhang who played Ip man here is the one who played sammo hung disciple in donnie yen ip man 2. He can be seen wearing black shirt and black hat fighting with huang xiaoming in the trailer ip man 2.
