I think we have all lost a great love in this fashion, and it is so sickening to see those last two songs (Du Bist die Ruh und Lachen und Weinen) taken out of context. The opus should be heard together, that is why he arranged and published it as such. There are many albums that strive to express the same sentiment, and, as Schubert is an expert in this field, I truly believe that he has done it better than anyone and highly encourage everyone to hear Op. 59 as one. It can change your life.
Oh, and also thank you for posting this, people must be aware of the obscure Schubert, as it is all amazing and this whole "Greatest Hits" shit is terrible, bullshit, and as bad as a Greatest Hits of Pink Floyd or Rush album. Schubert must be heard in his entirety, especially the twenty or so D numbers preceding Die Schöne Müllerin, as they contribute so much insight to the cycle (Especially Op. 59, Du Liebst Mich Nicht, Daß sie Hier Gewesen, Du Bist die Ruh und Lachen und Weinen).
Much as he is hyped for his Beethoven, that and the silence regarding his Schubert (as it is so good that, beyond his playing, there is nothing to say, and the fact that I could see Schubert sitting in my apartment playing the piano as I listened to his rendition of the Impromtus (also amazing, I highly recommend the album)) is the surest sign that his Schubert is perfect, priceless, and the best that there currently is of Schubert piano works, probably the best Schubert, currently, hands down.
