Your help is *SO* appreciated since the instructions that come with the machine are awful. Thanks for showing me how to do this easily...all without pulling my hair out :o) Happy sewing!!
This was the most informative video I've found for threading this machine. Thank you so much! It's even clear enough to use it to teach my 13 year old. You have saved us from hours of frustration. *high fives*!
Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial! Way better than the book AND DVD that came with my machine!! Excited to check out more of your videos!
OMG. :D I wonder if this tutorial is only for this Brother model because I just purchased a Brother XL2600i!!! (and I have no clue what to do with it) but thank you so much!!! :D
Thank you for taking the time to make and share this video. My book is somewhere, but you saved me a good hour...and that's not counting translating the written word to action. Your instructions are clear and thorough. It is great to have loading the bobbin, threading the machine and installing the bobbin all in one video. Now I can make my birdies their cage covers. I thank you and my little birdies thank you!
Thank you sooo much for this. I have just started sewing again after like 25 years and bought a new brother machine.. not as fancy as yours here, but a basic one.. threads the same way. I was kinda going nuts trying to figure out how to thread it.. and get the bobbin to wind right.. ANYHOW.. I got it now LOL.. Again, thanks :)
Thank you so much for you video. I am trying to follow it step by step and I am already stuck at winding the bobin. I am trying to thread the bobbin but when I press the pedal, the needle moves up and down but the bobin is not moving (winding). Is there a step I am missing?
Thank you very much. I bought the same kind you have many years ago. It took me forever to follow the book. Then I got it, but its been years since I tried to sew, and I did not want to go through the frustration of reading the book over, this is much easier. Thank you
I have this same machine and after I had brain surgery its alot of things that I have forgot how to do like how to thread my own sewing machine for one and I didnt wnt to pay the money to take a class for sewing so im glad I came across your video and you have the same machine that I have, so plz keep the videos coming cause they do help for people like me.
Great job explaining this! I had to watch it over about 5 times but i got it! I'm really proud of myself, I just have to learn how to sew properly on it now~hoping to learn more from your videos!
Thank You Sooo Mucho ! <3 Yuh Explain So Well ! I Read The Instructions And I Was Just Like O-O . . . MOM ! LOL ! XD I Even Have The Exact Same Sewing Machine ! <3
This video has helped me sooooo much- I am a very hands on/visual person so the manual didn't help at all (even ore discouraged when I called the brother help line to ask a question and they were nasty on the phone). I'm glad you do close ups so I can actually see what is going on :)
THANKYOUUU so muchhh! im redecorating my room and instead of buying pillows im just gonna sew them but i have a question. will this work for a brother LS-1217. it looks the same. actually they look so much alike that i thought it was the same one until i looked a my sewing machine. please please replyyy! thanks
@kay29xx sorry it took so long to respond. I don't know for sure but I can say that most home machines use the same basic, thread here then there, thread over here then over there. So i can't tell you yes specifically but i figure it's about the same.
OMG you literally just saved my fashion career. BEST TUTORIAL EVER! Seriously thank you so very much for this. This is the first video that I completely understood and could see everything. p.s. thanks for using black thread. lol
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I can't tell you how many times i yelled in frustration because I couldn't understand that video or the darn manual! I really appreciate you making this video!
My husband would like to thank you! I've had my sewing machine in the box for almost 2 years and now I can figure out how to actually get started! Ha! Thanks!
I got this machine as a prize in a treasure hunt in India... Thanks to your awesome video.. things are very easy to start now/... i am good to go now!! thanks again Chris!!
Thankyou soo much for making such a clear vidio! I found my brother LS-2125 in my closet with no instructions and I was lost. I spent 2hrs trying to figure it out. After i saw this vid it was so easy to do.
For some reason after everything is threaded and ready to go, I'll sew for a few seconds, then when I check, the bottom thread has disappeared. The top thread (on the of the machine) is white, and the bottom one (in the bobbin) is blue. So after a few seconds, the blue one will be gone, and when I take out the bobbin it looks like it was ripped. Is there a reason for this? I thought I was doing everything correctly? Any help would be great
@JonnyPaineMusic sorry so late!! your bobbin could've been backwards (unwinding the wrong way). And your tension on the bobbin casing (if your machine uses the kind of bobbin that goes in sideways with the bobbin case) might be way too tight keeping the thread from unwinding out like it should. It could also have been your thread getting caught on something else like the bobbin itself if it has a jagged edge it can't get past and keeps getting caught on.
Great video, really helped. BTW the presser foot is not the pedal you press with your foot, but it's the thing that the needle goes between that goes up and down, it looks like a foot
OMG I LOVE YOU D: i was going to throw the damn machine out the window, Thanks a bunch!!! I have a cosplay that needs to be done in a few hours, and I'm so very grateful towards you right now!
I wish I would have found this last night!!!! My sister in law and I spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out the first part (and we apparently got it wrong), but you helped so much! Now I have my new sewing machine threaded! Thanks!!!! :)
I have a brother sewing machine thats about ten years old. At 23 I am finally able to appreciate this gift but I could not for the life of me remember how to load the bobbin.. Your video was SO helpful. THANK YOU!!!! back to making my curtains :)
@116squeegie No no, our machines don't hate us... but they do get upset when we put string in inappropriate places lol !! That was supposed to be a joke! Bye!!
@rangerover01 Thanks!! Sewing in general is a psychotic affair of fabric, needles, and lost brain cells. And thanks on the nails, I grow them myself! :)
Thank you Chris! My daughter and I just followed your step-by-step instructions and were able to do it...for two people who have never even touched a sewing machine and do this just was watching you was AMAZING! Thanks again and we'll keep you on our favorites :)
@shooter2572 Thanks for 'favoriting' me! Youtube says 'favoriting' is not a word and suggests maybe 'flavoring' is what I'm really trying to say! lol Thanks for watching!!
thank you so much this was sooo helpful. I have a similar one, my sister had it lying around but lost the manual...I have a question...when I make straight stitches the thread from the bobin is scrunched up and ugly and loose sometimes...how do i stop this from happening?
OMG!! Thank you for this vidie I was wondering why my thred kept breaking when trying to sew. I'm making my daughter an easter outfit!!! Now I can get started and feel not to intimidated...

chris thank you soooooo much. honey please make more vids. you are awesome, i got my sewing machine today. thanks to you i am motivated. much looooove.
we have the same exact machine this video was super helpful it got me started I just finished repairing a pair of pants expect some videos from me SOON thanks babes !!!
THANKS! I was having a really hard time pulling the bobbin thread up even with the instructional DVD they sent with the machine! You made it much easier to understand!
@london2fly Will do! I will help as much as possible! I love to teach people how to do things and sewing just happens to be something that I'm good at!!
Thank you so much for posting this! I got this machine for my first time ever sewing with a machine, and I couldn't figure it out by the manual! I am a visual learner and this was awesome! :) I completed my first project thanks to your video helping me get started!! Im so excited, just in time for me to try to make a few things for Christmas. :)
Hello sir, my name is Karina. And I am so so so new to sewing. I need help with so many things. I have read the manual over and over. I am more of a visual person. I need you to help me. I need to learn just how to do a simple stitch. I have looked everywhere. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. So if this isn't a bother I would really appreciate it.
AMAZING!!!! Your video was a BIG help! Thank you for your taking the time to help the intimidated, but very motivated, beginners!!! :) Look forward to many more!
Thanks for the great video, having not sew in yards I just purchased the Brother, Project Runway sewing machine. I completely forgot how to thread a machine so I watched your video and was able to threat it. Thanks again great video....
I'm very new at this and your video was the first that I actually understood. Thank you for assuming nothing and the great zoomups! I don't have the exact model, but many Brother machines share the same basic body. Thanks again!
hello i got brother model 230 yes its really old but never been used my grendma gave it to me and i tried to do what you show here i must say thx you i now found how to to use it but my problem is that every time i try to sew the line all the time get cuted now i bought new line so its cant be that its too weak do you know why its all the time "brake"?
@aviisback It could be your timing mechanism is off, or your bobbin as I was describing to someone else earlier in the comments. Sewing machines are like cars and they need to be serviced or given a tune-up every now and then. Maybe someone can take a look at your machine for you.
Thanks for the video, I'm having trouble with my thread getting tangled up and stuck underneath the silver place below the needle. I've threaded it exactly as you have shown in your video, tension is on 2 and has been adjusted. Any tips?
thank you so much for this, i was soooooooooooooo lost and almost broke mine hahaha. now i finally start making my halloween costume :D thanks again!!!!
omg. thank you sooo much this was soo helpful . :)

@reena512 hi there! Push the bobbing to the right. It should pop into place and that triggers the bobbin to wind when you press the pressor foot.

Ps. This is the same exact machine I have.
Thank you!!

Thank u Thank u Thank u, I was wondering what would be the reasn that my thread s bunching up on my fabric.....?
DreamDreamDream21 1 year ago
@DreamDreamDream21 It seems like you should change your needle, or adjust your upper thread tension!

I'm very new at this and your video was the first that I actually understood. Thank you for assuming nothing and the great zoomups! I don't have the exact model, but many Brother machines share the same basic body. Thanks again!

hello i got brother model 230 yes its really old but never been used my grendma gave it to me and i tried to do what you show here i must say thx you i now found how to to use it but my problem is that every time i try to sew the line all the time get cuted now i bought new line so its cant be that its too weak do you know why its all the time "brake"?
aviisback 1 year ago
@aviisback It could be your timing mechanism is off, or your bobbin as I was describing to someone else earlier in the comments. Sewing machines are like cars and they need to be serviced or given a tune-up every now and then. Maybe someone can take a look at your machine for you.

Thanks for the video, I'm having trouble with my thread getting tangled up and stuck underneath the silver place below the needle. I've threaded it exactly as you have shown in your video, tension is on 2 and has been adjusted. Any tips?
busybx6 1 year ago
@busybx6 Hi sorry it took me so long to respond to you! Anyway it could be a couple things.
1) your needle could be dull or broken on the tip. This should be easy for you to notice.
2) or your bobbin spool isn't facing the correct direction; try flipping it (watch video for correct direction)
3) your bobbin or upper thread tension is incredibly loose; tighten those
4) you may just need to rethread your machine, upper thread and bobbin too
I hope this helps suga!
