@BusterBeetleX The Wisps simply get out of their formation if you let that happen, and you can just hit Z to start the attack again. Eggman will stay stunned until you hit him with it, so there's no choice other than using the final attack.

This guy was pretty inspired to have to side dash, jump, homing attack, boost, and use the color power to defeat him. Sonic Generations... hmm. Let's see. Boost... Boost... Boost... switch to classic and dodge, boost.... That was fun. :P

You get to blast that annoying load of fat into oblivion using a beam of colors. It just feels awesome. The announcements are somewhat ridiculous I will admit.

I made the video because I was doing a full playthrough of the game and there is no logical reason to just exclude the final boss. I never said the boss sucked, I just said that it wasn't that good compared to other Sonic final bosses like Finalhazard, Dark Gaia, and even Time Eater. This could have been a normal boss fight for all we know. It didn't feel like a real final boss.

The announcer sounds so cheerful here. I like this boss fight, but I feel the DS version was slightly more difficult, and the "dark announcer" fit better, showing that Eggman had corrupted the wisps.

The only real beef I had with the DS version is the clunky Terminal Velocity segment and the fact that the "Reach for the Stars: Final Battle" music was present for all of ten seconds due to only showing up for the final hit (as opposed to here, where it plays when most of the wisps are back).

I think Sega was lazy with this boss... I mean, they could atleast do every wisp power as attack. Rocket: Shooting a 2 row big rocket at Sonic via the mouth cannon, Hover: He could of hovered in the air then drop at Sonic, Drill: Turning his "Frenzy" like arms into giantic Drills to stab Sonic, Frenzy: (Not counting the intro Frenzy, cause he didn't do anything with it.) Using his arms or his head to bite Sonic.

actually at first that was not really a factor..from sonic-sonic cd and knuckles chaotix they did not end the game with a final boss vs a super form...infacted it was more like this.. you had to unlock the superform by finding the emeralds..((i dont remember if you can turn super in the first game tho)) the game that started the whole "climactic super form battle thing" during the final boss was sonic3 & knuckles

I think this is the first console game for the Sonic series that Eggman was the true final boss now that I think about it. Unlike Perfect Chaos, Metal Overloard, etc. I think it's a nice twist.
