  • WHY DID HE DO IT IF HE KNW IT WAS HIS LAST DAY!

  • @onethumbk Hans is head and neck restraint bro strictly to prevent neck injuries not skull related that was from hitting the steering wheel

  • A full face helmet would have saved Earnhardt he hit his jaw causing a basal skull fracture which is fatal most times he wore his belts slack for comfort so the force of his body going forward damaged the belt, that caused the broken ribs and ankle all u need to do is research its not hard

  • Interesting. One of the "fantasy" drivers in the old EA Nascar games are named Chad Coleman. I always figured it to be a spinoff of Brad Coleman, now I'm wondering if it is a tribute.

  • @harvick293107 Yes it is a tribute.

  • why is it that i have to see earnhardts fucking name on every fatality vid? he died; stop arguing about tthe cause of death and move on.

  • @highway955 It's just like why is Justin Bieber mentioned in almost every music video. Dale Earnhardt's death is the most recognizable name in comparison to the Chad Colemans, Paul Danas, and Eric Martins of racing.

  • Gone way too soon.

    R.I.P. Chad Coleman

  • Arca is not a part of NASCAR you dumb shit!!!!!!

  • at :12 full speed into the wall

  • @intimadator88 This is ARCA dumb shit

  • Comment removed

  • @intimadator88 ARCA is not a NASCAR sanctioned series. ARCA is its own sanctioning body.....

  • @intimadator88 to reiterate, ARCA and NASCAR are two different sanctioning bodies.

  • Comment removed

  • @intimadator88

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Whelen Modified Series, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, NASCAR Corona Series, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series....don't see ARCA.

  • how he die? He should of survived that.

  • @USAF2409 whenever someones car crashes and then flys into a million pieces, that means the car took more impact, but when ones car dosent, that means the driver took more impact

  • @Papscal: From wikipedia: There were RUMORS that he did not have his seat belt on properly, as he liked to wear it loose so he could move around and not feel too constrained. The ALLEGATIONS of seatbelt failure led Bill Simpson to resign...

Earnhardt had refused to wear the device, arguing it was uncomfortable and ineffective. He was not using a HANS device on the day he died of a Basilar skull fracture. The HANS device is designed to prevent such injuries.

  • @onethumbks i agree with what you said. if you look on the nascar.com webpage, they released the dale earnhardt crash report and the medical examiner said even if dale would have been wearing the HANS device, he wouldve still parished.

  • @bassguitar079 Really?

  • @MrFALLOUT1439 thats what i understood. apparently his head bounced against the steering wheel and such. you can check it out out....just google, dale earnhardt crash report

  • @bassguitar079 Wow, thats really sad

  • @Papscal actually you need to check the facts, you're wrong. The rumors about seatbelts causing his death are just that, rumors. Dale, Chad, Irwin, Petty, Alexander, and Roper all died of the same injury, basal skull fractures. Physics 101: body in motion stays in motion until a force stops them. Their bodies were held by belts but heads weren't- for lack of better word they snapped off. If the belts failed, he would've bounced inside the car, cause of death would be massive internal injury.

  • Chad Coleman was a childhood friend of mine. He lived in Las Vegas in the early 80's and was my best friend. I was sad to hear that he passed, but he was doing what he did best...race. He was a great BMX racer too and could have gone pro if he wanted. He was taken before his time. Signed Michael Kadmiri

  • Thank God For The HANS Device. It saved my butt last year.It needs to be MANDATORY in every racing class.I will not climb through the window with out it.

  • What's scary is another driver died in the same car (Blaise Alexander) died 3 years later

  • @75ProductionzHD: Blaise was driving the 75.

  • @PhilipTheBigOne Yeah I realized that after I posted it. LOL, I just didn't feel like correcting my mistake. But thank you for clearing that up with other people who didn't notice my mistake! LOL

  • @75ProductionzHD: Could be the same sponsor though...

  • Was Chad, Brad Coleman's father?

  • it didnt look that bad

  • @Halstead2009: You didn't catch the victim. It's the black car at 00:13 that turned sharp right. He hit the wall about head on (somehow like Dale did) and, remember, there were no safer barriers in 1998.

  • COACH IS DEAD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WHY!?!?!?!

  • That was a horrifically butal impact. I hope he went quickly.

  • i hope coach got safe in the saferoom!

  • @01kreepmortis umm, it looks NOTHING like Dale's crash, lol. Just sayin.

  • Thumbs up if coach got you here!

  • Hunter!

  • I would imagine that's one of those impacts that would rip your brain nearly out of your head. That's sad, RIP Chad, You were a good driver who's career could have been something very special.

  • If only the car was made of chocolate...

  • ...because that would have prevented death!

  • Haha is that a coach joke?

  • wouldnt he still die though? but in a better environment

  • kirk shelmerdine is a failed nascar driver who only had about 30 races the most famous car he drove was the #49 if you want to know why i refered to him is because they said his name at 0:03

  • @tdiharold5265

weird thing was he was a crew chief for Dale at one point i believe

  • @Nxtl68 yah i know was he kevin harvicks crew chief too

  • @tdiharold5265

I don't think so. I know Larry Mac was Earnhardt's crewchief from about the time I was born to whenever the NASCAR on Fox stuff started. Shelmerdine actually raced with harvick in a couple of races in 2001.

  • is chad related to brad.

  • I don't think they are. Chad was a good friend of mine in college and he was born in 1968. He was also from Greenville South Carolina. Brad is from Houston Texas and was born in 1988.

  • at 0:13 you can see Coleman heading for the wall, no wonder he didn't survive.

  • man, Old School Speedvision Days.

  • Is Chad Coleman related to Brad Coleman?

  • I think he is related to Brad Coleman.

  • RALPH SHEHEEN!!!!!

  • I love him! Ralph's great! I have the game Dirt Track racing for my computer and he is the track announcer.

  • Sorry I don't understand :( , what car was Chad Coleman in?

  • 72 car

  • o okay i am wrong

i thought that it was attatched to the seat

  • memory of Dale...even though this was in 1998...no sense of time huh?

  • @Kharn526 you dont really see him hit the barrier. i thought it was weak too but i looked at it a few times and you can see the impact that would have been caused would have been lethal

  • It did not look bad but than Dale Earnhardts 2001 crash was not bad. I suspect the Head And Neck Support (HANS) device would have saved his life as it would have Dale and many other drivers.

  • The hans device would not have save Dale SR. When belts are not properly installed and you come out of them at 180 mph+ not having a hans device is most likely the least of your worries.

  • i think they had the HANS device at the time, but was optional

  • yeah it was optional now its required

  • yes you are correct the HANS had been around for a while before seniors death. but he was still wearing an open face helmet and was too stubborn to wear a hans like a lot of the veterans in auto racing.

  • dont start whining like a baby, its a fact. and im not dissing dale sr im a big fan of his, but he had his seatbelts mounted improperly and they tore, people hit head on a lot harder than dale did all the time and have for a long time, but his seatbelt wasnt mounted right and he was wearing an open face helmet which also contributed to his death. he just had old school safety methods, relax buddy.

  • u have no idea wut your talking about. the hans device is a neck brace attached to the helmen, shoulders, and seat.

  • yes but they both serve about the same purpose. think about it, if Senior had had one of these he would probably still be alive

  • The entire purpose of the HANS device is that it does not attach the driver to the seat in any way. The force of impact is transferred from the head and neck to the chest and shoulders, preventing commonly fatal injuries (particularly basilar skull fractures).

  • Comment removed

  • now go back and look over what you said and think about it and tell me that they dont work basically the same way...

  • I think i know what you mean... HANS restrain your head to your body, just as a seatbelt restrain your body to the car!? Sounds like he just don't get that, huh...?

  • 13 yrs old huh... I think you should settle down a bit with the bad language there little fella.

Anyway, heres a hot tip for you sunshine, Grow some pubes, stop blowing water over your dads porno mag collection and leave making comments to the grown ups, k junior?

Now buzz off and go play in your sandpit.

No one cares what kids think about anything... deal with it.

  • hey boy calm down,u never even smelt pussy before, calm down!!!!

  • @Papscal I think that Dale may have ended up like Jerry Nadeau, Stanley Smith, or Steve Park. A retired driver or a driver who is a shell of his former self. The HANS device would have saved Dale Sr.'s life but at a price of being a backmarker, or lower-tier driver.

  • @Porygonseizureman No, the Hans device would not have saved Dale Earnhardt. Its hard to believe that over 10 years after his death that people make ignorant responses like yours Pory-whatever. Earnhardt died because his belts failed. They were not properly mounted and therefore did not stay on him when he hit the turn 4 wall at Daytona that day. It was as if he was not wearing a 5 point harness. With out belts a Hans device is just a piece of carbon fiber. You need to find facts before you post.

  • racing is a hell of a sport and its a shame to see all these great men die for this sport.....but at least they all die doing what they love

  • i would rather die doing something i love...its not good to die like that in front of people but i mean it comes with auto racing so its not like people didnt expect to see someone die some time

  • I love to sleep, so that would be perfect for me.

  • 2shae

  • @thehittman10 Escuse me please, I'm french and I would like to say "Yes" and I said "no"... Sorry

  • @thehittman10 I'd rather die 30 years later doing something I hate

  • Thank god for SAFER barriers, you know how many racers we've saved because of safety implications such as that, the head and neck restraint, and the innovations built by the car of tomorrow.

  • Yeah I know. Last season I watched Mark Martin take a hard angle crunch into a wall during a race that looked almost identical to Dale Earnhardt's and the first thing he said to the reporters afterward was 'Thank God for the SAFER barrier!'

  • @TrevorA01 Safer Barriers would've definately saved Coleman's life allong with the HANS device.

  • sick hit.. look at that angle Chad took into the wall at full speed, had no time to react once he hit the oil

  • The front ride of his car nailed the fucking wall, look at it head straight into the wall at 0:14 ...

  • hi died?

  • Comment removed

  • thank god they have made it so when they hit the wall there isnt as much impact as back in the 80's and 90's. Any hard hit killed the drivers and still can.

  • the 90's was a bad decade for Motorsports, lost count of the number of deaths and career ending crashes

  • How Brad Coleman's Dad really die

Head Injury or Broken Neck or Crushed Skull

  • They're not related.

  • was this the accident that killed him??? it doesn't look like a bad accident !

  • look at the black car heading toward the CONCRETE wall at 100-150 mph. yah that would hurt

  • Just keep looking at about 0:13, there is a black car that heads towards the wall (out of the camera shot)... That looked to be an extremely hard it.

  • dude if your goin 100-150 and heading streight to CONCRETE its ganna hurt or kill you and since this was Atlanta they were probebly going 150 or faster.....

  • Is Brad related to Chad in any way I wonder??

  • I'm almost positive they are not.

  • Looks as if he was down near the apron when he lost control.

  • R.I.P We miss you Chad. Great driver

  • Don't mean to disagree or be disrespectful, but what did Chad accomplish in his career? Since I'd never heard of him, I don't know.

    RIP Chad

  • To have the ability to drive any kind of race car at blinding speeds, you have to be a great driver.

  • Like I said, I wasn't asking in a disrespectful way (as if to ask, "Why should I care about this guy? He's nobody."), I was asking to get information. I googled Chad Coleman and can't find anything about him, so I know nothing about him aside from his fatal accident. Perhaps someone viewing the video knows more about him and him successes.

  • I wasn't trying to be mean about it, I was just stating what I thought.

  • such a sad sight....

  • (hit an oil slick)

  • i hate this one.poor guy hit and oil slick R.I.P chad

  • basal skull fracture like earnhardt... hans device would have saved him alos

  • R.I.P Chad Coleman

  • so the accident consisted of 3 seperate conflicts happening at the same time?

  • Any Relation To Chad Coleman The Nationwide Driver??

  • brad coleman

  • dude get over it maybe he didnt think of his name at the min it happens and he might benew to nascar so wat

  • Nascar? This is ARCA.

  • Why the thumbs down for 05fan?

ARCA is NOT a division of NASCAR.

They may be kissin' cousins, but they're not brothers!

  • its chad

  • fatal crash?

  • yes

  • What I'd like to know is how the guy died. I mean it didn't even appear he hit that hard and the car isn't even that damaged. This is an odd one.

  • If you pause it at :14 you can see him heading right for the wall, at :15 he hits it, similar to Earmhardt.

  • You are a retard, the dude's car was spilling oil, what the fuck was the driver to do? He doesn't know if his car is dropping oil.

  • Yeah, but I can guarantee that he'd still feel like shit over it, whether it's his fault or not.

  • That's not what you ment. The way you react earlier above was you blaming the 17 car. You're an ass....

  • hm he had no idea...what should he do? thats in secs u have to decide...thats sport...they now how dangerous it is..R.I.P

  • he slammed the wall hard with the right front

  • Kyle Bush...so a guy with no experience of top level open wheelers (or turning to the right) could cut it in F1. The guy couldnt cut it in Champ.

  • Look at Villenueve this year, didn't even make it one race before he got kicked to the curb by Bill Davis. Sam Hornish sucks. Gordon and Stewart are both very capable of winning in any kind of car they sit in. I would argue that Kyle Busch, eventhough I cant stand him, would be able to win in F1 as well.

  • Sam is coming around, but really shouldn't be in NASCAR...Carpantier should b/c he has no ride anywhere else

  • rofl! CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?! lol

  • That was a tremendous impact with the wall. RIP, Chad.

  • You are a sick sick individual...I saw what you posted on Gordon Smiley's video too...nobody thinks you are funny...these videos are posted as tributes to departed racing heros. They are not fodder for your immature jokes...go get some meds and join a talk therapy group!

  • The commentator refers to one car getting into some oil and contributing to the accident. At 1 min 13 secs the car is clearly just nudged from behind....

  • "Must have got into some oil"?? You can see the first car getting tapped from behind at 1min 13secs.

  • And these "Americans" are whooping any foreign drivers who get into NASCAR/ARCA...so what does that say about them? Heck Montoya and Villeneuve cant even control their cars

  • Ya the aero push and draft makes the car incredibly difficult to maneuver. Which no other drivers in the world will experience that's why foreign drivers get owned in stock car racing. Ironic how you insult American intelligence when you yourself are being a moron. Ah ignorance is bliss.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP. I prefer Americans than ignorant disrespectful idiots like you. You're so fucking stupid you kill yourself no one cares about you.

I hate oval racing but I have enough self respect and dignity to respect what they do. ARCA/NASCAR is not harder to drive than F1 but that doesn't make it easy. I bet you couldn't even handle the GForces that these drivers handle every week. Get a fucking brain and a life if may come in handy.

  • doesn't change the fact that you got owned by two other people...in fact he did have something to say...ignorance is bliss but disrespect is spiteful. But of course if you're that retarded to figure that out in our collective comments then you sir are retarded. Age has nothing to do with it

  • I'm pretty sure this guy isn't 38 cause for someone who's 38 he's pretty retarded. No one thinks you're funny commodore64738, go craw back in your cave and die

  • As if there's anything wrong with stock cars. I love WTCC and nothing will replace that but I'll gladly watch ARCA or NASCAR over the "racing" (HA SHOULD BE DRIVING) or F1. Who the fuck cares if F1 has harder tracks, that doesnt provide excitement. COMPETITION provides excitement.

  • How about READING next time before posting. F1 is pathetic. It's a two horse race between who has the most money or who steals the other's information first and it's always one guy leading the entire race...ZZZZzzzzzz. Where as stock car has COMPETITION. Something F1 is not to familiar with. Which is why Villeneuve and Montoya struggle LOL. Also this isn't NASCAR it's ARCA get it right.

  • F1 rarely crashes because there's not as much PASSING going on. This "NASCAR" is always 3-4 wide racing. Sure ovals are not real "driving" but isn't "RACING" suppose to be more important than "driving"? F1 is all about driving NO CAR COMPETITION. Where stock cars are all about competition. Why do u suppose Villeneuve couldn't do well in his debut?

  • sorry douche bag but the dumb americans, pretty much came from nothing to now make millions and it takes a lot of skill to drive at over 200 mph (then) with 41 other cars doing the same... i bet you'd spin out at 100mph.. oh and they do street tracks too fag...

  • stock car crashes are always much more serious than it looks. Look at Earnhardt's crash

  • he hit the wall at an acute head on angle...those are the worst kind. show some respect dirtbag!!!

  • Kenny Schrader said the stop is the only thing that will ever hurt you.......except for Eric Martins crash

  • Intensity74, I apologize. I am new to the sport and I am an aspiring autosport research analyst. I admit, I still have a lot to learn, and I should get my facts straight, before I issue my informative reports. Point taken.

  • The security of these cars was really poor these days. At 0:13 you see the car breaking out to the right and crashing in the concrete wall at high speed.

  • how did he die from that

  • kinetic energy released from his car going from 170 to 0. thats what killed him

  • JCarp1980, my apologies. Coleman was in fact killed....I beleive I was thinking of Steve Park.

  • He died of severe head and chest trauma...
