@justxboredx3 dude i did the same thing i bought a iphone 3g from this guy and i upgraded it and its 4.1 i think and i wanted to use my T-mobile carrier not AT&t and now its telling me emergency calls only but i dont have the regular sim card did u ever find out solution to it? PLz reply asap!

@SameCrazyAngel umm yeah i had mine updated to 4.0, it was a long time ago...i never updated my iphone after that incident. just search on youtube "how to jailbreak 4.1 iphone and click on the 3rd result. i think it works, im not sure because my jailbreak was 4.0

@justxboredx3 no i tried it and nuthin happen it just goes bak to the screen activation screen and i tried to downgarde and it lik says error 1015 and i tried to bypass tthat error but it still had an error i hav itunes 10 but ipaid this guy at a store to do it for $40 cuz i needed it bad and i did alot of research but still nuthin worked i tried about lik 20 different ways!

downside: you can have the absoulet latest firmware untill the dev team has made a crack for it, altough, it normaly takes less than a week, and there is a crack for the now latest update so you´re fine right now :D

I just tried this today and it does NOT WORK!! I had to reinstall my iphone to factory settings, losing hundreds of pictures in the process as well as some music albums. It's okay, I later realised I had a backup on my iTunes account and got everything back!

iPhone 3G 2.2.1 firmware will NOT work with this because the Modem firmware is higher than that which allows this to work, and it cannot be changed. So even though it looks like the whole thing is going through no problem at all, it will hang on the pineapple logo or show a russian man talking (cartoon).

you cant open it but if you want to have the firmware update you wanna open make sure you downloaded the update firmware then connect your iphone to itunes then in the restore thingy click shift plus restore i mean click restore and press shift at the same time then select the firmware then it will restore
