this is one of the most devastating things to happen to a car, dont go trying to compare it to some frontal impact on your toyota. this is a single, focused point of impact, so the damage will be severe no matter what. the fact that the car didnt wrap around the pole and kill everyone inside is pretty respectable.

And for that guy saying Camry is the best, sorry dude, Camry has been outperformed by Sonata long time ago. Toyota just has a fame they made during the 90's and early 2000's, but they are not delivering the same quality and reliability as they used to be. Hyundai promised to be as good or better than Toyota in 5 years (back in 2000), well, they did it and they keep doing it.

the reason for its weight is due to the fact that car bing built solid ...that is is why it is safer and more rigid then cheep Camry or altima ... the only drawback is it is heavier.

same ting goes with tiburon when compared to flimzy civic ... even with its weight tibyron still handles close to rsx-s

@i930010 mark my word. In a few years, Hyindai will be the new Lexus. They sarted making great cars lately. The new Genesis (sedan and coupe), Sonata (it's stunning). Give them a few years, their whole lineup of cars will be kicking ass.

@bathellfire Oh I would not be surprised if you are exactly correct. The rate at which they have improved their vehicle line in the last couple years combined with the mistakes on the part of Toyota, the recent lack of technological innovation at Honda, and the American automakers clamoring to right their ships could provide Hyundai/ Kia the opportunity they have been longing for. I will say, though, keep an eye out for Volkswagen, they planing to take America by storm just like they did Europe.
