  • thanks for this! my mom taught me this cast on method when i was a kid but i'd forgotten. i like the step by step, very easy to understand.

  • oh wow, I loved it! It was so much faster than the other ways! I think I finally figured out how to knit the first row and am about to try the purl (I think that's when you go back the other direction??)

  • @miamimooneys it is faster, its just more difficult to knit from evenly. Purling is often done one the wrong side of the fabric (side not facing the public) but can be used in lots of different patterns. If this one works well for you then don't let me deter you. If you have any questions email me anytime. contact form is on the website.

  • Yes, I am left handed! This is a great video.

  • @miamimooneys ok, I only ask because this is probably my least favorite way to cast on. I don't know if I have left handed versions of the others, but I'd try the knitted on cast on or the long tail. Much better techniques for everyday.

  • TY! I just started knitting today and this is a fantastically easy video to understand and follow! Well done! Now I'm off to view more of your videos!!!

  • @miamimooneys awesome. are you left handed?

  • can you do one for a phone case

  • @kwlmegan I don't really make videos of specific patterns, just stitches and techniques. If you have a pattern with a stitch you don't understand I'd be a happy to make a video of it.
