I'm sorry, but Ana dropped the ball on this one. Maybe she only saw old articles but like 2 days after this happened, I was able to find several articles easily by google search with him explaining his position and exactly how it came about.
There was actually a third guy that came with the two demonstrators who was doing a guest lecture and the video they showed was unrealistic about the female orgasm so he decided to put on a live show as an impromptu kind of thing. It was legit in my opinion

They were learning in class that it's location and existence was an unsure thing. So they did a demonstration to show evidence of its existence. Also before the optional panel began the students were watching a educational video of a woman masturbating on a wall projector.

How do you need to do a "demonstration" to show the G-spot's existence? All the students are going to see is a woman shoving a dildo device in her vagina & making weird faces. That doesn't prove the existence of the G-spot at all. It would have been a lot more educational to have anatomical diagrams and show the students approximately where it was, since every woman's G-spot is in a different location.
I'm not a prude, but honestly this demonstration seemed unnecessary to me.

In an Acting course would it be useful to see a live Shakespearean play or just read about his methods. This was a sex ed class, so an optional possibility to view a sexual function (G-spot orgasm) live has its merits in education just as going to a cadaver lab in a biology class does.
Both involve naked people being penetrated.

Sex is a human instinct and not something that you have to learn and see demonstrated to understand like science. Humans are animals, and like animals, we're designed to know how to reproduce.
If the whole class knew what a vagina was and how it worked, why do a live demonstration? It doesn't prove the existence of the G-spot. The students can't see where her G-spot is located, and they can't see it being stimulated. All they see is a naked woman being penetrated.

@ugladbro the entire concept of "human instinct" is only understood through the scientific method. Saying something is instinct does not remove its value in research. The concept of a G-spot in female anatomy is not well understood and since it's only function is that of arousal, there is no other way to study it than seeing a woman in an aroused state. A neurologist cannot study how a persons brain turns memories of words into speech without having them talk during LIVE observation.

All the students were able to "study" was a woman moaning and groaning, which they've already seen on film time and time again (in class) prior to the demonstration. Hearing a woman orgasm proves nothing.
If a researcher wanted to study the human brain in regards to how speech is formed, he wouldn't wear ear plugs.

@ugladbro The demonstration was to show, as i understand it, that continuous stimulation of one specific area of the vagina can cause as intense a reaction as a clitoral orgasm. Normal sex is not continuous stimulation of a single point, so this was the easiest way to reproduce their theory in a controlled setting. Some women go their entire lives without having an orgasm. A demonstration and lecture like this can lead to knowledge and women experiencing the full scope of their bodies senses.

And though i didn't see the specific device they used in action, most of these move in a circular/back and forth motion, not up and down, so the tip of the prosthesis would be hitting one spot repeatedly at an interval. This was not a perfect scientific demonstration with peer reviewed findings, but i defend the professors EDUCATED decision that it had merits.

Second, the purpose is to inform and educate in a controlled setting. If you can't learn openly about all aspects of sex education in a college setting then where can you? @jademinion actually, there are plenty of "kids" in college, if we understand that many enter at age 17, which is still considered a minor in the US. Next, there are a significant minority of "non-traditional" students in major universities, some of which are well underage. Back in the late 90's when I was in undergraduate, I had a Latin class with one 12 year old in it, for example. Human sexuality classes are for high school, and we didn't have the teachers jacking off. why do we need it here?

However, there are very few animals that have sex for pleasure as well as utility. If you or anyone you know has ever had sex for any purpose other than creating a life, then you should consider it something to be studied and understood beyond a high school level.

@XSC3 Inappropriate is a word that is reliant on your morals being superior to those of others. Obviously the professor, the students, and those running the optional panel do not agree with you. In the end it is the participants and the PRIVATE university's decision what is appropriate, not anyone else's. Once you choose to step into a higher learning setting you are putting yourself into an adults only realm. Regardless of your age you are expected to act as an adult. Ergo, no kids allowed.
