@fooltymjerk101 Personally, i think the SU-27 is one of the most agile fighters ever made,
but the russian sometimes overestimate it's abilities and turn off security electronics, so it can perform extreme air shows, which sometimes end with crash.
At 0:57 - 0:58 you can see somethig flying near the fighter.
There is some video of a UFO flying close to the plane, a cigar shaped one, taken from another angle.
Well, this video was taken from another angle and i see something near the fighter, i am not saying that its an UFO, but there is actually something close.
@elmsy1664 Coming from a negro-mexicanos country that didn't produce anything for 30 years! it's like Moroccans blaming germans for making bad MErcedes! HAHAAH! Your cars fall apart too. And your space shuttle is another nigger designed flying coffin
Just dont understand why people blame Russia for this I know Russia designed and made the Su-27 but its Ukraine's job to Keep its aircraft maintenance properly and keep its pilots in check!
@kocimietka82 I agree with you. It is still about a show of power, not a love of people! Haven't all Slavic people suffered enough at the hands of their regimes already?
the reason why this happens to most migs and russian su fighters is because these planes dont have enough thrust to weight ratioand they do not produce enough thrustto lift
when you see other videos of SU-27 crashes, they all are exactly the same. Plane stalls on pulling out of a dive. They are just not able to handle the manoeuvre.
A lot of people died, and when you see other angles, you see the plane cutting people in half.
Cause of crash is pilot mistake, did`t calculated altitude, and also failure of critical aircraft control system, system which adjust loading of pilot control stick. Each modern fighter has that system. At high speed the ratio of stick loading is more, system designed to prevent over G during the dog fight, looks like ALPHA went beyond max, literally he stalled the plane.
Pilot done a great job.have had the same happen in a F15.He had control for 1 second which he leveled out to prevent harm to people on ground.Great job for a out of control situation. We all no what caused it.better not to mention.
@RuskiHomie I'm so very sorry to hear that! I hope none of your loved ones were harmed. I can't even begin to imagine how horrific it was. No doubt, you'll be haunted by it for the rest of your life. Take care.
I certainly wouldn't want to be a pilot for a gouverment like that. It's also very irresponsible for the gouverment to not take responsibilty and to throw it on the pilots. Out of all the people that were killed they only set up a 2 million dollar fund for all of those families. That's not much. Shame on the Ukraine!
Their president said "the pilots were the most experienced, of the highest class." When a jet this size looses thrust, there's not much that can be done. It's not like a glider that can be steered away. It's not light, it's heavy, if there's no thrust it can't be pushed in a different direction. I just don't think it's fair that they don't keep their jets in good condition and let them wear out. Then put a pilot in them and when they fail and kill people say that it's the pilots fault.
@MarkyMilitaryFan You're quite right. The entire system there is corrupt & the pilot & co-pilot weren't happy about this manoeuvre the day before the air show. They asked to practice it again but were denied permission. A big cover up to get everyone else's arse out of hot water.
@Zach979 Yeah I seen the report. Althought it's been a while since I read it. Their Air Force chief and chief of their defense got the boot for this one. I'm not totally in agreeance with them putting the pilots in jail though for that long though. They even admitted that they can't afford to buy replacement parts for their aircraft and they say that the equipment might have been exhausted beyond its limits. They also speculate that there was engine failure.
If it was complete pilot error that would be pretty sad. Crashing a plane worth millions and killing innocent lives for carelessness is just horrible. I know that Russian standards might not be as high as other countries but surely they wouldn't give a plane to "pilots" they wouldn't trust with an asset like that and who really doesn't know how to fly a plane and then put them in an airshow lol. Under pressure they needed a explanation and since the evidence was destroyed they ruled pilot error.
@th3sp0rk Yes your right, I believe so. It wouldn't surprise me. Thanks for pointing that out. But I wrote Russian standards because I was thinking automatically->>> Russian built jet = Russian pilot, but it wasn't. It was a Ukraine pilot and that's what I meant to put. Thanks for correcting me.
I believe in the investigation that it was determined that something entered the engine causeing a power failure..causing the plane to lose velocity. In the video they circle the object that either entered the engine or hit the wing causing a loss of control. Did someone already post that? lol i didn't read all of the comments!
@blimpstatio If you actually pilot a stalled or "out of control" aircraft (in which that is) you'll soon learn that you cannot steer it away from anything. Sukhoi fighters such as the Su-27 and the Su-33 are also vulnerable to stalling due to it's shape. Notice the vapour atop the wing as it pulls out of the maneuver. That vapour usually means the aircraft is under stress (i.e. pulling high Gs), this shows that the pilot tried to pull out. When you're a pilot you soon learn this...
@blimpstatio He could not do a thing any more... he stalled, rolled and started getting power back, tried to pull it up, but he did not have enough power nor lift.... he lost control again at the end as a result of high angle of attack and rolled to the left...
@blimpstatio by the looks of it the crowd was both side of the runway, maybe he was trying to get down the runway and avoid as many as possible, if he was totally negligent he would have just punched out.
@blimpstatio Well, I think he did as well as he could. There wasn't much he could do in that situation, as he had no thrust to maneuver with. He stayed in the plane when it was obviously doomed, which insinuates that he was attempting to steer away from the crowd. There is no other reason to remain in the aircraft.
Seems that after he enters the roll one of the engines blows out, but it seems that he could of pulled out thou he turned towards the crowd. Unfortunately 85 people lost their lives and another 100+ injured due to this accident. (I do not know much about this accident nor aerodynamics, but I hope to become an Aircraft Mechanic, so don't call me stupid just because I do not know what actually happened.)
After the roll in 0:04 you can see the afterburner smoke trail. It disappears suddenly in 0:06. But the pilot still needs full thrust to climb again ! It must have been an engine failure.
Although this manoeuver was flown close to the ground, with 100 % power the jet
would have managed to climb again. With only the fuel for the show and no weapon load the plane is a lightweight and no problem for the two mighty engines.

@rampking1 yes the Mig-23 Flogger was built during the cold war. It was built with skinny wings just like the Mig 21. It is speculated that they developed the wings like this to prevent defection. Along with some nice thirsty engines to prevent long range flights. Even rolling the jet too quickly could put it into an uncontrollable and unrecoverable spin causing a crash.
When the FAA allowed that one privately owned two-seat MiG-23 to be certified to fly, I guess they never considered the recomendations of the USAF or the horrific experiences of the Indian Air Force.
WTF are they thinking?
I lost track of those two "civilian" MiG-27's... heard anything?
@rampking1 Hey no problem! Haven't been able to see anything with the digging I've done since your last reply. But I'll be sure to look through some old mag's of Airforces Monthly and Air Intertnational and the web. If i see anything I'll be sure to post it on here and send it your way.

@blimpstatio how would this look in 3d lol 1:10. too many ppl died though. =( and what is with the description of this video?...

@blimpstatio In Fact a MiG-23 flight tested by a USAF test and evaluation squadron was "deemed" exactly that.
They were happy to finish the aircraft's evaluation because not one pilot wanted to fly it.

@rampking1 no surprise there!

@MarkyMilitaryFan Thanks for the reply.

If i see anything I'll be sure to post it on here and send it your way.

jak widac piloci zdazyli sie katapultowac...
bulamoto 2 years ago
