This video is great if you want to clean your wii lens yourself. When the lens gets too dusty or dirty, games will not read. Nintendo knows this so they have their own "Wii Lens Cleaner" which is nothing more than alcohol and cotton for 10 dollars.

It almost looks like disassembling a Vehicle Motor, it looks "fun". Today I dot the ERROR message in the Wii, so now I'm think of getting hands on to replace the laser or just clean it and try and if it not works then replace it for good. But I don't know, maybe I will just take it to a technician to save some trouble.

Thats a lot of work. Nintendo sure don't want you taking your wii apart, The DC only had 4 cross head screws. So that was easy to fix.

you must first connect your pc to your tv, wich should have a VHS recorder. then, you record this youtube video, play it to the end, and then rewind it. while rewinding, your question will be answered.

I'm pretty sure it's there for reasons like the one in a computer. It keeps the settings saved when you unplug it. When you cut the power to the Motherboard in a computer, the bios loses its the password, boot order, etc. That's just my hunch, though.

The main purpose of the battery is so the Wii can tell time, much like a watch. Same function in a computer. Once it dies the system no longer tells time and can lose its time everytime you turn the thing off.

If you want to install a modchip (Wiikey) all you need is the DVD drive, and in that video it's up to point.. 5:55 or around there.
