  • Outstanding performance. One major thing I would improve on is posture. I find he is slouching a good portion of the time, which could lead to personal injury. To prevent slouching, imagine your shoulders being pulled back. If necessary, have someone else pull your shoulders back for you. Your projection for this particular venue and your tone are magnificent! Excellent phrasing. Great job memorizing the whole piece! Hope to see more outstanding performances like this.

  • Really great. Only remark would be the section from 31:13 to 32:00, which he plays with almost constant forte instead of following the more refined dynamics of the score (as e.g. Brendel does), thereby sounding a bit youthful-superficial and taking away some of the beauty and enchantement. But then again, that's just my taste, probably also influenced by Ravel's orchestra version...

  • @duif4b I wouldctually agree with you. I call Kissin "Mr Fingers" There are some phrases that I feel to be lacking, but there are other parts where I got some interesting ideas from him. I have to give him props for playing it so well.

  • An aural art exhibition.

  • GENIAL!

  • When was this concert?

  • and to think that he memorized the whole damn thing, key signature, rests, everything. just incredible my god.

  • @K00lstorybrah each part of the exhibition should be handled as one own piece, then bring them together. i mean, if you play the piano, at least you should be able to play 10-20 pieces by heart. and do so at this exhibition, but remember to work on the flow which keeps all those pieces together because its ONE piece and its ONE exhibition :D

thats the way to succeed my friend :)

  • no dislikes? that's awesome, but, who could dislike a genius like this?

  • ehibition eh?

  • I wonder if it's the video I posted on Vimeo 2 years ago :D

  • Jeez why is the piano so awesome? Oh yeah, because Evgeny Kissin plays it

  • It's wonderful!

  • Do you know anything about this particular performance?

  • just began learning Baba Yaga and the Great Gates of Kiev. Its a monster of a piece and incredibly difficult but the reward when its done will be amazing.

  • @NEVERbackd0WN22 Me too! I sometimes think I'm pushing myself too hard with this piece, but then I watch this video and I'm like "If that's going to be my finished product it's totally worth it!" :)

  • Perfect!

This performance convinced me Kissin is all-time the best pianist.
