Omnia hd looks WAY better than that outdoors. Don't use the auto brightness on the omnia hd, it's garbage. Turn the backlight up manually and it looks amazing on the oled display. Backlight and brightness is different.

1:23 there is a transparent film on Samsung Omnia... you can see a line along the edge of screen ... that phone have a light sensor. That is mainly for adjusting to your environment, if you are in the sun it gets brighter, or in the dark it gets darker to save power. That film can provide some distortion in measurments. You can see a film also in 2:57 and 3:42 (on Omnia 2)

wow even tho iphone is 16m colors, colors on touch pro 2 and omnia 2 actually look more saturated rofl. iphone wasnt close to clearest, it was the brightest in sunlight, but definitely not the clearest. i would say amoled definitely beat the phones with lcd screens. i mean, iphone is the brightest, but then they should follow this video up with a battery test ^^ cuz anybody could make a bright screen, but has iphone made it efficient enough, i say not since many ppl r complaining ;]

I saw a demo a couple of months ago, about new hybrid laptop LCD screens with a reflective substrate that could be enabled for outdoor usage, great!

We cannot pursue sunlight legibility on cell phone screens forever upping the backlight brightness, as it is unneficient, consumes battery life and will never provide satisfactory results.

I believe that on the near future, we'll have cell phone screens that are readable and as colorful on sunlight as reading a magazine outdoor
